  1. Apathy is the glove into which evil slips its hand. Write that one down...
  2. Never realised that there was footage from the game of the fire. Unbelievable scenes. As a side thought though, as that stand was coming down one thing that stood out to me was the images of Police charging back into drag people out or putting themselves at the back of the queue out of there. Although that in no way mitigates the performance at Hillsborough, it does maybe show the other side of the coin when it comes to Police behaviour back in those days.
  3. I've always thought that Johnson has encouraged Smith to go forward, bit of tiredness and a dip in confidence the closer we get to the bottom is what I blame.
  4. Each to their own, I thought he was quick but naff. Lacked the courage to put himself into 50-50s and generally didn't do enough with the assets he undoubtedly has. When he came on against Bradford though he looked electric- if he can channel those performances more often then he'll do well. Just didn't see it enough for mine
  5. This, but said without any malice. He repeatedly did really poor things that cost us, and I feared he'd have no future at all. Others were bad too, but that isn't any excuse. Superb this year though, all credit to him.
  6. He looks tired to me - possibly a result of playing in every game including all the JPT ties. Plus he's not missed a single period through injury. Performances short of what they were at the start of the season for me, but that doesn't mean he's playing badly per se. For me he is just capable of more, but I would still say that he is performing as well as anyone else.
  7. Err... Some seriously strange ideas on evolution here. Diet is most definitely an unrelated factor. Very peculiar.
  8. Not too chuffed with having him back if he is only with us short-term. I am not hugely impressed with lads who think that half a good season warrants a move. Plus his performance level had dropped over recent weeks and I can only assume that is down to his looking at longer-term options. So I can't see that being better now he's left.
  9. There is no information but instead there is an exculpatory fob off. Some people were rude, but they do not justify a blanket refusal to answer any points.
  10. Really? Is his role not to be a representative for the fans with all that entails? Also, why does rudeness give the right to ignore the quite polite and reasoned original post.
  11. Quite outrageous comment. I am appalled that you feel the right to hide behind a playground comment such as that to avoid providing an answer Barry - that is beneath you. Maybe you should look at providing meaningful information to the supporters who put you on the board and they wouldn't react with such cynicism.
  12. Really? You did watch us put in another insipid shower of :censored:e performance only days after we threw Walsall another 3 points that they barely earned? Or did you not see that drivel? I didn't see Port Vale but I heard it was more of the same.
  13. Hmmm, that's bollocks. We also have a problem conceding :censored: goals and gifting a quality chance a game to the opposition. As for getting a grip - do me a favour and piss off. If we put out that first half consistently this season we will go down with a whimper.
  14. Left at halftime and truth be told I'm not sure that I wouldn't do it again. God that was a dire first 45. Regardless of how today finished we have big issues to address.
  15. Fair enough. But I kind of meant that there weren't too many good ball-playing centres halves... Signing Yeovil's cast-offs doesn't sound too promising.
  16. Disaster if we lose Grounds and Tarkowski. We will struggle to find too many centre-backs that good at playing the ball out from the back.
  17. Philiskirk did okay tonight, as did the wide players and Rooney for my money. What they lacked was end product for the work they were doing. On Rooney's performance in particular; he did struggle, but the plan had him playing as a lone figurehead against a powerful backline who were able to play incredibly deep after they got their noses in front. My change would've been JCH for Philiskirk in the second half to give us two targets to aim for and increase the chances of catching them out. Delivery from wide was okay at times, but in the second half particularly we did too little to get across the front of their defenders or the keeper.
  18. Ball or man? It looked to me, both in real time and watching replays, like he touched neither. Lino wanted to give it as soon as Davies got in front. Spineless officiating and blatant cheating from the striker don't add up to good forward play for me... That said, should never have gone near him in the first place.
  19. Thought he played very well tonight, a very impressive outing. Made, or helped make, them look the average cloggers that they were. Should have done better with the chance at the end of the first half though!
  20. Anyone else misread his first name and think it said "Generic"? I was expecting someone 9ft tall, fast AMD strong but with only a shaky understanding of dead ball etiquette.
  21. There is no good way for Latics to lose Baxter. Gutted beyond belief at the moment.
  22. I feel ill, this is gash. I'll be gutted if we lose Jose Baxter whatever, but for 150k I would be devastated! :censored: I hope this comes to nothing...
