A bloody big improvement on the Gateshead game. Shelton was terrific in midfield MoM for me. Yarney impressive. He and Hogan looked better than Hogan and Clarke for me. Chapman looked like he'd played football before which I hadn't thought in previous performances. The midfield balance was better. The 2 caveats were we scored from 2 horrendous mistakes and my York supporting mate thought they were poor. Still be thankful for small mercies. Aldershot away and then 4 home games.

Saw Callum Gribbin play today for FCUM. I would imagine you are aware of him. Has a magnificent touch and a wand of a left foot. His best chance today fell on his right unfortunately. His balance is terrific and at times Whitby couldn't get near him. Ex United, was the new Ryan Giggs, released at 18 and went to Sheffield United followed by Barrow and only played one game. Played last season at Radcliffe. He's 24 so I presume other clubs have looked at him and thought no. There must be a reason why he's playing at that level. Bloody gorgeous to watch though.
