  1. Thanks for that. Ah yes, the rarely wrong Chron - "subject to change". It's a pity the Club didn't put that bit about 4 tickets per ST holder in their letter. Can anyone tell me, where there is more than one ST holder at an address, have they each received a letter or is it one letter per household?
  2. I've read on here people supposing that tickets will be on sale at BP in addition to Ticketmaster, and that ST holders will be limited to 4 tickets each. I don't know where this information has come from, but the announcement on the official site only mentioned Ticketmaster for sales and made no mention of a limit on numbers. It said the Club's minimum allocation of tickets awould be 25,000. http://www.oldhamathletic.premiumtv.co.uk/...1023472,00.html The letter received from the Club today also only refers to sales through Ticketmaster and makes no mention of any limit on the number to be purchased. Unless there is an announcement to the contrary, the assumption must be you have to use Ticketmaster exclusively and there is no limit on the number of tickets you can buy. I presume now the Club has gone to the trouble of allocating each ST holder with a unique supporter ID number, rather than it be wasted if we don't get to Wembley, this method will be used in future for big match ticket sales.
  3. Here's tonight's Chron report: Superfan Richard heads the queue PICTURE TOO! Caption: EARLY START . . . (front, from left) Richard Oldham Athletic Metcalfe and Andrew Swain were first in line HOPEFUL Latics fans set up camp at Boundary Park in the early hours of this morning in a bid to get a ticket to see their team take on Blackpool in the second leg of their League One play-off clash. By 7.30 this morning around 700 fans — some kitted out with sleeping bags, camping chairs and giant umbrellas — were snaked around the Sheepfoot Lane stadium, despite Latics 2-1 first leg defeat at home yesterday. Unsurprisingly, it was superfan Richard Oldham Athletic Metcalfe who was first in the queue at 1am. And Richard, who changed his middle name from Andrew by deed poll in 2005, reckons his beloved team still have a fighting chance. “They were really below par in yesterday’s game, but it’s only half time, so it’s all to play for” he said. His friend, Patrick Carwood, who also joined the queue at 1am, was less optimistic, but said: “I wouldn’t miss this game for the world. Whatever the outcome, I really want to be there.” Only 1,800 tickets will be available for Latics fans wanting to see the team bid to overturn the deficit in the second leg at Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road ground on Saturday. If they manage to claim overall victory they will face either Nottingham Forest or Yeovil at the new Wembley Stadium on Sunday, May 27 — with the winner being promoted to the Championship.
  4. The consultation period on the two planning applications has now ended. The representations (including mine) submitted to the Council were: Detailed application for new main stand to replace NSM (Lookers) stand: For: 2 Against: 225 Outline application for remainder of development proposals: For: 6 Against: 330. Keep everything crossed!
  5. Lealtad es todavía cima de la liga. Si ellos llegan en el final espero venir a España para ver Diego jugar.
  6. Amigo bienvenido. Siempre bueno para otro Latic para unirnos de la tierra de Diego Cervero. Viva Latics.
  7. If Blackpool fans occupy both ends exclusively, Les is in for an afternoon of abuse, which could last two hours plus a penalty shoot-out. They already know Shez took him off at half-time recently and they will be absolutely ruthless with him! If he survives that he can survive anything.
  8. Yes, I'm afraid that all John's good work for Latics was undone when he let us down on the eve of our game at Old Trafford. He received a hand injury in the early hours of the morning of the game and spent time in the A & E Department at Oldham Hospital. It was the game when we were only allowed to have a minute number of fans present, as OT was being redeveloped. Hallworth let in three goals in next to no time, and was treated for what appeared to be a hand injury. We didn't know the real reason until it was reported in the rarely wrong Chron on the Monday. In the second half ManUre knocked the ball about without trying to score. Joe Royle was big mates with Taggart, and I'm convinced to this day that Taggart told his lads not to embarrass Joe. It finished 3-0 but I consider Hallworth's unprofessional attitude was unforgivable.
  9. I've emailed the club, not in those exact terms, but to that effect!
  10. Blackpool's Rivals messageboard says a stand is to be built at the open end in time for the second leg. http://boards.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=9...738&style=2 Looks like the Lashers are having their stick of rock and eating it. A stand is to be built at the open end after all, but Larry Grayson will be shutting that door on the Latics' fans - it'll be for home fans!! The 1,600 tickets for BP must be witheld now.
  11. help_shiny was talking about the rules of the competition, not the rules by which red nosed Taggart operates. Next, you'll be expecting penalties to be given for fouls by red shirted players in the box at the Trafford Nike Ballpark.
  12. Welcome Derek. I like your style about our biggest rivals. I'd never thought of them as rivals. Who needs enemies when you've got friends like that, eh?
  13. Just a sample of the atmosphere in the Chaddy End before the team came out last Saturday. http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=oafc4life Thanks to oafc4life on JKL.
  14. Blackpool fans who are not ST holders don't expect to get any of the 3,000 tickets for BP. There's every chance that some of them will be in the queues at BP for first leg tickets if they go on general sale tomorrow.
  15. Mark wasn't there. I don't know Prince William very well. He came along with us to see the great Louis Armstrong.
  16. Has anyone studied the three pictures under the elevation drawing on the fishal site showing how the new development will look? http://www.oldhamathletic.premiumtv.co.uk/...1019251,00.html It will certainly be a complete transformation of the area.
  17. Good to see big Joe at Chapel Road, taking an interest in the Youth team. http://picasaweb.google.com/whiteonblueoaf...778169304515490
  18. Great pictures as usual Sean. Glad you got one of the elderly Asian guy with the beard. His son must have wanted to go onto the pitch just like all the other kids so, to ensure his safety, the guy went on with his son. To see the pair of them walking back from the pitch to the Chaddy was great. http://picasaweb.google.com/whiteonblueoaf...250138965706034 I would think the Club will want to use that picture, which single-handedly, shows that Latics are reaching out into the ethnic community.
  19. That song must have stuck in the throats of the Wearsiders!
  20. That's correct - King of all Burtonians...well not quite. Born in Burton on 3rd October 1948 (think his mother was of Hungarian descent). He also wrote himself into Burton Albion history, as their shortest-serving manager ever, lasting just 21 days before challenging Chairman Sam Brassington to sack him - he did! Most famous as a hero of Sunderland's FA Cup giant killing of Leeds in the 1973 Cup Final. Halom chested down a corner from Billy Hughes before the deflected high ball was controlled by Ian Porterfield who shot home from 12 yards. It was one of Leeds' worst moments.....until last Saturday.
  21. Azulmarino has been in contact with Diego, who has sent his apologies for the Chesterfield match. It was hoped he might be able to bask in the glory of the Reserves parading their league trophy, thanks to his goal against the Lashers. Anyway he has a game for Lealtad on Sunday, so he can't make it. He finishes his emails with "Come on Oldham." He is following Latics' progress very closely and he wants to know the Play-off dates. He's interested in who's been scoring the goals and he also asks about Moussa Dabo - anyone know what's happened to him (apart from being at his brother's hospital bedside), so that I can let Diego know? Diego has also seen a picture of my tribute teeshirt, which he is chuffed about.
  22. See my reply under voucher story. He's working single-handedly!
  23. How about having a singing contest between the Chaddy End and the RRE? The judge would need to be someone sat on the half-way line who hasn't got a vested interest in the outcome of the contest. If you're up for it, let's ask one of the subs to be the judge e.g., Lomax.
  24. Denis was one of Latics' best ever free transfers. When sold for £650,000 in 1990 he surely made one of the great transfer bargains in modern football history. He was a manager's dream player - guaranteed solid professionalism and reliability. He was a skillful attacking full-back, who would go on clever overlapping runs and deliver swerving crosses to perfection. He also had a powerful shot. Peter Schmeichel said "Andrei Kanchelskis had the hardest shot at United and Paul Ince really improved but Denis is the best striker of a dead-ball because he can spin the ball. He can bend it better than Ryan Giggs."
