  1. Sadly 'though it's not a good point We don't score enough goals, so we don't win enough games, so we won't get enough points to make the play-offs, simples
  2. Obviously don't want to upset the blind optimists out there but we can surely now start to forget about the play-offs for another season. The biggest concern is that we will probably be starting yet another new season in August with yet another new team and absolutely no idea of how they will perform. I honestly think that is the major problem for us now, how can you expect loyalty from supporters when it's virtually a new squad every season? God knows where we go from here unless Dickov stays and is able to keep the decent players he has added, try and find a striker who can actually score goals (ffs!), centre halfs who can defend crosses and build on what he has started this season
  3. Perhaps that was the pre-match pep talk The reality is the 6 best teams in the division are now in the play-off spots and it'll stay that way, we're fu**ed
  4. Goodbye play offs Goodbye Club VERY, VERY HARD TO KEEP THE FAITH ANY MORE
  5. The problem is that many thousands of workers are believed to have died during the building of each pyramid Assuming that those most keen to help wil be our season ticket holders and regular home fans and also assuming that we suffer a similar mortality rate, we may well wipe out our entire home support by the time the stand is opened. I think we should go ahead with the idea of a self build but SC will either have to get the workers to pre-pay a few years season ticket money or, better still, outsouce the build to United or City fans
  6. indeed! My point is that we really do need to stop messing up leads...how many points "lost" is that now?
  7. 1-1 We can't go on giving points away after leading Promotion or bust this season.......actually bust
  8. [still....... not yet relegation form.... is it? well sadly 2 points from the last 4 games is relegation form
  9. Hazell is an average 3rd division player in an average 3rd division team Any manager at Latics these days needs to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.....which to be fair, up until this weekend, Dickov was...and may still yet!!
  10. The team spirit is as good as it's ever been. There were a few ridiculous moans in the away stand yesterday early on as we struggled to cope with Dagenhams very direct style but you could see the effort our lads were putting in and after the break they showed they have the extra class to win these tight games. When we scored (right in front of the 400 away fans) every single latics player joined in the celebration (with the exception of Brill, who was excellent yesterday by the way)....they care!! As long as our fans remember we are in the third diviison and get behind the boys from start to finish even when it isn't pretty then we genuinly have a chance of staying in the playoff race or better under the Scottish Marinho
  11. ...as someone said earlier, the turnaround from last season n terms of enjoyment is stunning. Really good team perfomance today. We didn't panic or let heads drop after getting caught cold for their goal after 4 mins but came back strongly to level it and after that there was only going to be one winnner. The team spirit looks fantastic and the reaction of the players at the end spoke volumes Tounkara is all effort and plays with a smile on his face, it's been a while since I looked forward to watching an individual Latics player so much. Taylor was up to his old habit of really annoying the opposition, loved it!! We're still a little shaky at the back but there was no doubting the effort and they dug in for the last 20 mins when Brentford pushed for a goal. Best moment of the match for me was when Dickov called Taylor over to the sideline after he had got involved in a fracas for the tenth time and was really winding up the crowd and the Ref...I assumed PD was telling him to calm down but then it occured to me that he was encouraging him!!
  12. We just can't seem to win home games consistently. Still, 3rd after 5 games is pretty decent...this league is absolutely wide open with Charlton and Southampton both losing again today
  13. .....but naturally the live match commentary is not from Latics but Southampton...in other words the biggest club they could find with a home match....patronising BBC muppets
  14. Just got back and your summary is spot on. Taylor needs to get his act together but he certainly has some competition to keep his place in this team. The spirit was superb from start to finish and the way they approached the second half was absolutely excellent. This is exactly what you want from your team, 100% effort and trying to win every match...spot on. What I really loved was every time someone lost the ball a team mate would be there to cover for them or win it back...brilliant! Well done to PD and the whole team on and off the field....including us lot who were great again today.
  15. ...that makes it even worse. Just seen it on youtube. That's it for me with England, as long as overpaid scum like Rooney get picked regardless of performance and effort. I genuinely hope they get knocked out next week....scum the lot of them
  16. absolute scumbag, perhaps it's because they saved for years to make the trip as they don't get paid £100k a week Stan Collymore is brilliant on Talksport, absolutely slating Rooney. He should be sent home for that comment, mind you, cRapello hardly speaks English so would struggle to tell him
  17. Don't knock Windass, we should never have replaced him in goal with Brill
