  1. How many more loan players are we going to sign!!!! ..............We have nearly half a flaming squad that haven't even played yet. Thompson, Davies, Kalala, O'Grady, all out on loan for different reasons but probably three of them not coming back. Don't forget, these were all hand picked by Shez!!! He signed midfielders for fun before the season started and has never played more than two in any game Lee, Stephens, Maher, and Smalley have hardly had a kick between them...what the hell's going on!! We have Ormerod and Jones on loan already and now we are going for two more, it doesen't exactly send the right signals out to the rest of the squad!!! I thought we had finally assembled a squad to get us out of this division but Shez has obviously got other ideas. Has he lost the plot or what!!!!!!
  2. Spot on with your comments there...Apart from him being a better player when he comes back...If he does OK at County he won't be coming back. You just don't loan one of your so called best strikers to a rival unless you seriously want him out!!! I reckon there's been a major fall out behind the scenes!
  3. Again you don't know that's the case. He wasn't exactly squeaky clean when he came here.. ... for all we know, he might be an absolute tosser!!!!f
  4. How can you make a comment like that when you don't know what's gone on...the fact that he's gone to a club challenging in our division should tell you Shez couldn't wait to get rid. Let's wait while next week before making those sort of comments. I wouldn't mind guessing it's a dressing room bust up....Let's wait and see!!
  5. Ormerod's not crap...far from it.!!! He's got bags of experience, is proven at this level and just needs games to get match fit. Since the sending off at Rochdale Davies has done nowt to convince me that he is going to be a success here. It's a shame because when he first came he was like a breath of fresh air...he was different to any other player in the squad as he had pace, and lot's of it, something the team had been lacking for a long time. It's been mentioned before, the problem with Davies is that he is plain thick with no footballing brain whatsoever and no matter who you pair him with up front it won't work!!! I reckon they coach him all week on the things they want him to do and then come Saturday he does the complete opposite!!!! I don't think there is room in the squad for O'Grady and Davies as to me they are too similar. Shez will have done this out of sheer frustration and I reckon Ormerod's here for another month or somebody's coming in next week.
  6. Brett Ormerod will be a big asset when he's fully fit but should have started on the bench again last night. I think if we keep him for a second month you'll see that he's a quality player. I think it's just the frustration of the lack of goals from the strikers that persuaded Shez to make the change.
  7. Yes, they are BBC stats, and LW commentary said we dominated the play throughout but just couldn't find the net! Think it's time to add a little mettle to our midfield especially playing away from home and would play Maher or Eardley alongside Allott and Whittaker at the expense of Liddell/Smalley. We now have the squad to play wing backs in a 3 5 2 and this would be another option. I just think we are a bit exposed playing two out and out wingers and should reserve this formation for home games. Anybody else agree!!
  8. Very disappointing result tonight... You would expect to get something from the game with 15 strikes on goal and 11 corners. By all accounts we played well except for two defensive errors. If we'd got a goal which our approach play deserved we could have gone on to win the match easily. We have to go to Swindon now on Saturday and win and beat Scunthorpe on tuesday and we're back on track.!!!!
  9. I think the outcome of our season could bel be determined by our performances over the the next three fixtures. We went to Stockport full of confidence and fell apart in the second half. We have to make sure that was a one off and can't afford any repeats. The top of the division is going to be really tight this year. Any one of 7 or 8 teams will fancy their chances and we have to stay within striking distance and keep picking up points even when not at our best. We've had a great start to the campaign but can't afford many slip-ups. Remember Millwall and Scunthorpe were a few points adrift of ourselves not so long ago and as well as we have played lately they have both managed to go above us. With Leicester and Leeds also both expected to be there or thereabouts I reckon we should be looking for 7 points from our next three games and 6 as a minimum. Anybody agree!!
  10. The problem with Davies is that he's just not a team man...he plays like he's on his own out on the field. I've lost count the amount of times he's wasted great opportunities and he just does not compliment any sort of strike partner! When he first came in to the side everybody, including me, thought he was going to be an awesome player for us but it just hasn't happened. Yes he scored a few goals for us last season but he's been found out this year, well and truly! He's nowhere near the threat he was last season and I just can't see him improving...it's a shame and I hope he proves me wrong but I reckon if we could get a small fee for him, and Ormerod is a success, then he might well be allowed to move on in January.
  11. At 1.00pm today there were still 2000 left for the Chaddy End pay at the turnstile.
  12. Thing is Either Davies or O'Grady will probably keep the bench warm if Ormerod does the bizz...shipping one of them out will give both of them more time on the field. It's a good move all round and if O'Grady comes back with a few goals under his belt it will have benefited both clubs.
  13. Don't think canceling a contract can make any difference, the rule is that if a player is contracted to a club when the window closes he can't sign a contract with another club until the window opens in January, so It would have to be a loan initially. Wolfy would be my guess but Davies and O'Grady are so similar in style it could also be either one of them too. Has Davies spat his dummy out? If not it's gotta be Wolfy!!!
  14. You can't rely on your midfielders to score week in week out and I think a successful twin strike force is essential if you are to get out of this league. Heskey may have value for England but how many goals have been set up by Allesandra, Davies, and O'Grady's hold up play? Shez still hasn't found the right pairing and I think it is the main reason for the Ormerod deal. The only other reason could be the short term fitness of Hughes.
  15. Something is going on .... very simple really, other than Hughes our scoring record from the forwards is abysmal. Davies, Allesandra, and O'Grady are not putting the ball in the net. Apart from the one goal from Allesandra, we've not had any goals from our strikers in 10 league games!!! Hughes whilst not being 100% fit has scored 6, but the majority of the others have come from our wide players Liddell 5 and Taylor with 6. It might well be a mighty kick up the backside for Davies who may still start the match but if Ormerod partners Hughes can any of them really complain?
  16. Just had a look at our reserve line-up up for tonight's match against ManU. TTA have done a fantastic job since rescuing our club...tonights line up would even give Hereford's 1st team a run for their money. If we can get into the Championship at the end of the season I have no doubt that TTA will give us the resources to stay there. I reckon we might break 9000 against Leicester and our task is to convince the majority of them to come back. Saturday's game is pivotal to our chances this term and if we can win and put in a good performance I think the stay aways will finally start to come back.
  17. I think the biggest problem with Davies is fitness, he's not played much football in the last month or so and it shows. Confidence plays a big part and if he could get a goal or two I think you'll see him chasing balls all over the park!!!
  18. I can't believe this move...only a month ago Corney was as good as saying if crowds don't improve we may have to sell a player to balance the books. Crowds haven't gone up by any substantial amount and we go and sign Ormerod. Surely a player or two will be on their way now! I'm absolutely over the moon with this signing and at last we have a true front 2 but with TTA it seems to be they say one thing and do another!!! Let's fill the place on Saturday and give Leicester a proper thumping.....Come on Oldham!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I think TTA would snatch their hands off, but the way I see it the problem is without him we would not gain promotion. Without him in the side we are just not potent enough. We could also spend half the fee on a replacement and he probably wouldn't be as good...players like Lee Hughes are extremely hard to find!! TTA would have to decide...Do we want promotion and everything that goes with it?... or .... Do we balance the books?
  20. Can we take him on a season long loan or are we limited to 3 months. If we are still up there, and have to send him back at Christmas, it would be a big blow
  21. Didn't go today due to work but listened to the commentary on Latics World. Davies is still goalless and didn't seem to play that well according to the commentary. Would like an opinion of someone who went to the game.
  22. You never know, we could have a decent crowd. Apart from the England game they just might be trying it out to see how it goes.
