  1. 4pounds fifty, 5pounds and 6pounds something...are you sure!!!!!!!
  2. The question has to be asked then...If he's really that bad, why did Shez sign him?....and Thompson for that matter!!!
  3. The fact that they wouldn't let him come here in November because they had no cover is good enough for me...if they think he can still do a job in the premier he's more than good enough for our league. I reckon he could be every bit as good as Hughes if not better. OK it's only short term but if he get's the goals that send us up it will have been well worth it. Anybody who thinks he's carrying too much weight should look at his picture in the M.E.N. Like him or not you have to admire the guy's fitness and to still be playing in the premiership at 39 is even better than the legend that is Eyresy!!!!
  4. Keep your hair on....it was just an observation!!!
  5. Why will it free up wages...If we pay him up as per Thompson ...How will we be better off?
  6. Lambert could be going to the premiership for a million so we can rule him out but Tyson is another matter. Acording to reports they could be prepared to let him go and he would be a great signing for us...having said that Calderwood has just been sacked so it could be on hold until a new manager is appointed. If they decide to let him go could a swap for Lee Hughes be on the cards? They need goals to keep them up and Hughes could be the man....The only downside to the deal would be Tyson's fitness record....he spends a lot of time on the treatment table!!!!
  7. Don't think a bidding war will come in to it...The 400K clause will mean just that and whoever offers him the best contract / terms will probably secure his signature. I think at the end of the day it will be solely Hughesy's choice and the size of the fee will be irrelevant to him! I just hope that if he does go it won't be for a penny less than 400K.
  8. Taylor's problem is that he is being marked by at least two and sometimes three players and his threat is nullified......the problem is, we don't seem to know how to turn it to our advantage!!
  9. Are you watching the same game as me!!!! If we don't start picking home points up we're going to throw away the playoffs never mind automatic. No there wasn't a lot wrong with our general play but we are just not threatening enough...Crewe played some good passing stuff on Boxing Day but without an end product and we were the same today. We were at home for christ's sake and he brings on Liddell for Lee and you think that was right?????...was Shez hoping for a penalty because that was the only way he was going to score. It was crying out for Smalley today...What has he done wrong as he's hardly had a sniff lately. The service to the front two is p*** poor from a midfield that only ever pass sideways...Yes Allott and Maher did hold the ball a bit better but created absolutely nothing. The gap between the midfield and strikers is just too great...whenever Maher and Allott release the ball they just stand still...for both of them it seems like Job Done! On the other hand Kavanagh ran the show for Carlisle and if we had a player like that today we'd have won the game ...No doubt!!! 23 corners you say...and we didn't even remotely threaten from the vast majority!! 6 points from 15 at Boundary Park is plainly not good enough and If Shez doesn't get his team selection and tactics right for the remaining home games we're going to throw away our promotion chances and spend yet another season in this god awful division!!!!
  10. I've got us down for about 80 points which will be good enough for the play offs. We have to play all the present top 4 away from home yet and our points haul from these games will determine whether or not we can go up automatic!!
  11. Free tickets don't come very often but you have to take em when they do...especially away!!
  12. To be honest, apart from the goal, and a few little jinks, I thought Byfield was poor and way off the pace yesterday. I since found out he has been Ill all through Christmas and has hardly trained...if that's the case then well done Byfield, but you have to ask, "Why did he play at all"? It worked out OK in the end but if that goal hadn't gone in and we'd have been playing against better opposition it could have been so different. I think it proves how little faith Shez has in O'Grady and Allesandra....If we lose Hughes next month who the hell is going to score the flamin goals!!! Lee had a good game yesterday and would start again for me tomorrow...We have to get him match fit along with the likes of Dale Stephens as in the second half of the season we have to increase the competition for places if we are to gain promotion. All in all a good performance yesterday especially in the second half and on the plus side Crewe, who were at home, never looked like scoring. Shez is going to have a difficult decision to make when Crossley is fit. Fleming to keep his place???
  13. Yesterday's win at Crewe will be rendered pointless if we fail to beat Carlisle at home tomorrow. These are must win games and if we can get an early goal then I fancy us to score a few. Their away form is amongst the worst in the league with only 5 points, 1 win, and 7 goals from 11 games. It has home win written all over it........but you all know the score...nothing's as simple as that with Latics!!!!!!
  14. I was in their mainstand yesterday and could seei there was only about 100 or so spare seats so I would say 1500+ as a minimum which is pretty good really.
  15. That's correct, 45 from 45...never missed a penalty in his career....That's some record!!
  16. Tyson could be available by all accounts.......Forest fans would be a little peeved at Porter in and Tyson out. If we sell Hughes in the window I reckon Tyson could be a good move for us...What do you reckon????
  17. He'd have to wait for his chance obviously, but Stam is injury prone and we've only really got 3 centre halves at the club. We could quite easily lose Hazell to suspension and then we could be really struggling. I would be tempted to keep him until May as he could yet end up as an asset to this club.
  18. I would be tempted to give him another chance to establish himself here...he's only 27 and we will probably be looking to replace Gregan at the end of the season. He was dire in his last spell but I don't think he was ever fully fit. We've nothing to loose by bringing him back and if he fails to make the grade he would be released anyway. Thoughts anybody?
  19. Hudds isn't all ticket as far as I'm aware...I think you can pay on the day.
  20. That gives the stay aways even more ammo when we can't even get the simple things right!!! By the way how many were there from Orient yesterday?
  21. Not a cat in hells chance of Sheridan going to Leeds...but I reckon it would suit Paul Ince down to the ground. Ince has a short managerial career but can boast a brilliant salvage job at Macclesfield and a promotion with M K Dons. He could go to Leeds and get them up through the divisions and end up with a club big enough to reclaim it's place in Europe. Come to think of it, it's bloody perfect for Ince......What are his odds, anybody know?
  22. When was the last time a midfielder of ours threaded a pass through the opposition defence for a striker to run on to and score!!!! It has hardly ever happened since Wellens and Kilkenny. Shez was a bloody good midfielder but he sure as hell ain't good at picking one out!!! In Byfield and Hughes we have potentially a bloody good pairing but without a supply line we might as well have Owen and Heskey!!!!
  23. If we can get a million or more then it might not be as bad as your making out! Taylor is a very good player but we do rely on him far too much and most of our threat has to go through him, and as you say, stop Taylor and you stop Oldham. If Shez has a little bit of the money we get to strengthen, and we got the right players in, who knows it might just give us a lift at the right time.
