  1. I’m moving down south so a lot of games are on my doorstep?
  2. Mental if you want Davies out when he’s scored double figures in League One
  3. Doubt Placide will stay regardless but would prefer another keeper, he’s been OK but nothing special with the potential for a clanger and it looked like nerves affected him quite badly yesterday too. Got to keep at least two of Hamer, Edmundson and Stott, would be happy if we added an experienced, rough leader in there with them. Could be Clarke but unsure if his legs are there anymore and whether he’ll even want to play another season. Gerrard is on a wage and is injured too much for me. Full-backs - doubt Hunt will stay and hopefully we can get some cash for him. Also doubt Moimbe will stay, he can do a job in League One if he keeps his head. I think we can keep Dummigan and he’s a good player in League Two, so add another full back to start. Gardner won’t get another League One club and he will be effective in League Two, I’m happy to keep him and he’s actually looked arsed about us too. Uncertain about Fane (whether or not Lemsagam is binning him off aside) - he looks good when he pulls off the big tackles but he’s often out of position and can’t be trusted with the ball at his feet. Would love to I keep Byrne, with a manager he likes he’d be up there with the best of them in L2 but I’m resigned to him leaving. McEleney hasn’t impressed much but is he worth another go based on how well regarded he is? So we probably need at least two starting midfielders, one of them who can give Gardner a bit of freedom too. Hope Nepomuceno stays and think he might well do. Would like McLaughlin to stick around but he’s worth a gamble to a L1 team that they can keep him fit. Need to find someone with true pace out there. I would keep Davies no questions asked, he winds fans up but he scores goals and he will be a nightmare for L2 defences. Obviously not going to keep Doyle or Nazon. Davies needs someone’s to play off him if he’s going to stay, or at least get the wingers running in off the flanks behind him. There’s a nice core there to build around in a weaker league and we can be effective if we can keep hold of them, add some players who want to be here and get a manager who can actually organise and motivate a team. I’m still not hopeful.
  4. Gerrard was class, constantly in space and a pass ahead of everyone else on the pitch (including Suarez at the time).
  5. Dunne was very poor today, the complete opposite to Law who was our man of the match.
  6. That's the only thing that you could possibly gripe with the club about I think, but it seems to be a policy that we offer all our youth scholars a contract after their two years are up. We could probably do better with that but at the same time there's always the risk that someone has a stinker in the second half of their scholarship, gets injured or loses their motivation because of it etc. I just don't think you can blame the club for this one, we don't have the resources to be able to offer youth products a pro contract with a year to go on their scholarship with the risks that that entails.
  7. What do you mean 'give them away'? He is a young footballer who has been given the opportunity to join a Premier League club, and an established one at that. Renshaw is out of contract and if you seriously think that we are able to compete with a club like Everton in terms of offering a new deal then I don't know what to say. Even if the terms were equal then Everton are clearly the higher draw - better training facilities and coaching, the opportunity to potentially play in the Prem and the chance to learn from established goalkeepers at one of the top ten biggest clubs in the country. This isn't something to moan about - we should just be pleased for the lad that he's moving on to better things. The only disappointing thing here is that we won't get the chance to see someone who is obviously a big talent play for our first team.
  8. I see your point, I'm 20 and have only seen us play in L1 so my definition of a legend is a lot different to yours. To me the likes of Eyres, Liddell, Taylor, Gregan and Pogs are club legends because they were my heroes growing up - Sheridan was the pick of them after the miracle last year, but he's ruined my opinion of him with this. It's a shame because there's very few players who I can say are club legends having watched them and Shez has made that one fewer with his move to Notts.
  9. How can people advocated releasing Vassell when hey haven't even seen him play to form a conclusion?
  10. He had an injury apparently and wanted to come off, strange way to go about sending the message over.
  11. We were in the first half an hour of the first half I think; as you rightly pointed out Jones and Palmer played very narrow so they had a lot of joy down the wings in that period just because we didn't press them fast enough in the centre. Full marks to Shez for spotting this and changing it however and we soon made sure they had no space in the middle - led by a brilliant Kelly performance (and Dieng was very good too).
  12. Wow! I not only enjoyed the result (obviously) but the performance - the best feeling I've had walking away from BP in a while. Kelly in particular was brilliant - they outnumbered us in midfield but he was everywhere and negated that, a fantastic showing. And how good was Forte, the first half especially. Absolutely buzzing tonight!
