  1. I find it exciting being the underdogs as it brings excitement to the season. But i feel next season good be our last in league 1. If dickov recruits, team builds and brings in a 20 goal a season machine, then I dont see how with a strong defence, capable midfield on top of the that in weslo and furman that we cant pull of a suprise. 17th May and already cannot wait for 18th August!! OWTB!!
  2. Gutted we dont get a fee for him, but at the end of the day he wants to go on to bigger and better! All the best kieran!
  3. I have noticed that Joe Widdowson has been released by Rochdale. I have liked him and noticed his potential when going over rochdale highlights. He keeps the ball well, quick and pacey, not of tall height so could work his way along the left win in support of morais or whoever we have on left wing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Widdowson http://www.rochdaleafc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10441~43223,00.html I think a fee would be involved as he is under 24 but overall I say he is worth a trial at the least. And were only down the road from spotland.
  4. Pompey away, sun, booze, 3-0 win, 2000 latics fans! Nice memory for when i start uni! haha
  5. I don't know another way you can prove your a student unless you take one of tour teachers with you? Haha! No but seriously I think a letter and your ID is fine enough
  6. I used my student card, as it had on it 2011/2012. However this was for the pass that gets you concessionary prices not the intermediary season ticket. Other than that, a statement/letter from your college/university should be sufficiant enough.
  7. Im a politics student and would love to go on QT, but Im told that the applications are open to all the NW not just oldham as first pressumed.
  8. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Kee Could be a decent signing to fill a position up front. Scored 12 in 20 for burton this season. Not sure of his contract length and Im sure his wages cant be high. Worth an enquiry do you think? Him and Simpson/Smith could be a good strike pair.
  9. Disagree! Dickov knows his pocket money to budget on for players, wages etc and so knows his limits. There are a variety of targets dickov could make including nicking a few from the clubs relegated and league 2. The most important thing is, is he creates a squad with a combination of young and experienced players with chemistry to build on. Our club isnt in the financial doom as is looked upon. We have a decent league one budget and can pay ok wages (kuqi and taylor). Get this season out of the way, get the players not needed gone and build a framework. Im sure dickov has his targets already in mind and in so I would get them all signed up by start to mid july. That way, pre-season, tactics, shooting, defending, team building etc etc can be done ready for the 3 points on August 18th! (season starts later so im told)
  10. Cant have latics player because im a Maestro user, can anyone report IN DETAIL if you have the time as to what he says!!
  11. In what is a serious offence committed by ched evans, any re-trial would take a year in hand to come around as there must be more substantial evidence that supports cheds claim he didnt have unconsented sex with the 19 year old. As for acquital... in my opinion would be very unlikely, however I cannot see him serving the full 5 and more like 3 and a half or 4 years.
  12. Every match day I bet majority of the fans count to see if were fielding 11 players!
  13. As much as it is expected for teams with low budgets to be in so called 'relegation dog fights', you only have to look at what Greg Abbott is doing with carlisle, keith hill when at rochdale last season, Stevenage this season etc who all have low budgets to show that it can still work. In my opinion, a fully fit team with chemistry will get far. Something we seem to lack imo!
  14. CB LB Winger DM CF (goalscorer) all a must for any chance of doing anything next season!
  15. Since this was posted 2 years ago next month, alot has indeed changed. http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/page/NewsUpdate/0,,10337~2049498,00.html *Blitz and gazal have left *Still to this day we have a demolished stand *Financial Problems have been a problem, but if anyone notices in the article, it says 'Latics are one of the most financially stable clubs in the league' *Bailout package by OMBC So whats changed since then?
  16. As much as taylor will be a loss I think it would be selfish for us fans to be negative towards his move. He has been fantastic over his time and I would like to see him do something similar to eardley whereby he signs for a championship team who have an odds on chance for promotion. In the end though, he isnt leaving because he cant stand the club, the fans, dickov or even the money, he is moving on for bigger and better things. He is 25 and and wont get any younger. I hearby say to chris, take your time in the summer to find the right club and the latics fans will back you. Overall as I doubt he will play again for us due to his injury, I wish him the best of luck and thankyou for his services which I havent been able to say about a player for a while other than Sean Gregan (IMO)
  17. I think the main thing that dickov does that is vital in the surivial and future of this football club is to keep a core squad together. If I was Dickov and Corney I would do this: *Draw a budget for the whole season with a transfer budget and wage budget. *Draw a forecast of whether promotions (golden ticket) etc can be used and the revenue downfalls it could possibly produce * Keep atleast 8 of the usual 11 starting and build from it. *I would like to see one or two league 2 players make the jump and sign for us. I know from past experiences ie penney ere when he brought in players from league two, but I believe dickov would have a better eye for players. My judgement, please critisise.

  19. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/17493636 Everyone take a look at this from sports relief 2012. Really funny and alot of respect to lampard, his fiance and howard webb for being it. Enjoy is all i can say!
  20. Cisak, Lee, Mvoto, Tarkowski, Mellor, Taylor, Adeyemi, M'whatshisname, Bunn, Simpson, Kuqi Bench; Bouzanis, Diallo, Tounkara, Brown, Winchester 3-1 win!
  21. Dean Furman seems very keen to stay and would love him to stay and partner weslo in midfield for the next campaign. Taylor on the otherhand, I couldnt care less whether he stays or goes.
  22. yh that was me. Cant remember how long that was ago but i think it was after the mk dons defeat. But yh he said the only player at that time going through contract negotiations was kieran lee and that they were not at that time talking to anyone else about contracts.
  23. http://www.rochdaleafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10441~2662617,00.html Do they have nothing to report on other than the arrivial of a new game? Just seems a complete waste of effort.
  24. its the same with every club. Rochdale took 19000 to wembley look what they get now! We took 6000 to liverpool yet we scrape 3000 per game. Every club is the same I for one would buy a season ticket but cant as I have work committments
