  1. I can understand that and again it being home is the nostalgic aspect of it. Also acoustics in football are quite important nowadays, and the lack of that in the chaddy is a concern when hoping to generate an atmosphere to "roar" the players on and give them a boost. Bradford fans claimed we were the quietest home fans they'd seen in a long while - I was in the chaddy sunday and thought it was rocking and the best atmosphere at BP probably since the Everton game. Like somebody said earlier I just cannot see the benefactor of giving a team a 12th man every week when there is definitely something the club could do about it. I like the sound of a trial - would be a bit of a ball ache to implement it though probably - but without a trial, how are we going to know?
  2. Good point, I sit on the edge of the middle section but they are embarrassing, least if the away fans had the chaddy that wouldn't happen (as much anyway, some would obviously go on the sides closest to the away fans).
  3. :censored:e compared to RRE where there are no pillars though isn't it. obviously you can still see the game but the pillars don't make things ideal i mean in some of the seats a pillar is blocking the goal close to the RRE. Plus if you sit near the back (or right at the back) you're half looking at the covering stand. When there's a stand with a much better view, which is louder AND can hold more home fans I don't see why re-locating would be much of an issue. to be honest when the new stand comes along though I'm hoping to try it in there so won't be be in either the RRE or the chaddy
  4. That's just daft as it happens anyway - Lots of fans come from across the fields walking past the Chaddy and main stand to get to the RRE.
  5. How come the police moan about that? I thought they'd prefer that rather than sitting next to fans like in the RRE at the minute
  6. I realise it won't happen like Monty says above, but the RRE really should be the home end. In all honesty, the Chaddy is :censored:ing awful - no acoustics, :censored:e view from half the stand where you can just about see the full pitch, continued :censored:e view from most of the seats due to posts. I realise for some it's a nostalgic thing however in the long run moving the home end to the RRE makes MUCH more sense, better acoustics, better view, It's bigger so can house more home fans etc. Especially if it came to a higher league, imagine being in the championship with most teams bringing 2-3000 in the RRE and drowning us out every week, not ideal at all. Any chaddy end season ticket holders on here, if you WERE asked to re-locate due to changing the chaddy end to the away stand, what would your thoughts be? Would you refuse to go or just re-locate?
  7. Feel fairly confident with this, along as we get into that 3rd round I couldn't care what score/how we play/what team is played just get us in the draw! Fancy City away this season - I've wanted this for a LONG while. 7000 Latics behind the goal - we could show them what an away end should be like. Plus I'd give anything to beat them in their own back yard considering the amount of :censored:/"banter" I get for supporting Oldham off my city mates (who actually give out more grief than the red lot!).
  8. I think he'll come in Jan - he know's we'll be in the perm in 3 years - top 4 in 5 years and who wouldn't want to be a part of that
  9. This x100 - League games if someone is in your Season ticket seat you are within your rights to ask them to shift Cup games however that are unreserved seating then you can sit anywhere as its UNRESERVED. Simple as
  10. Couldn't disagree more, I'd say he's being harsh on Smith only giving a 10! add a couple zero's.
  11. Chaddy was the worst for me against Wolves last saturday. Me and my dad sat in the chaddy around the middle of the goal, I stood up TWICE due to us nearly scoring and one knob head sat2/3 rows behind reaches over and pulls my Hood down slightly as if to pull me down.....Literally saw red and went ape :censored: as most people would. Classic line from him "come back when you get a season ticket" to which I replied I have and probably go to more games than him!!! Had the last laugh though when Millars chance nearly went in and everyone was standing including the 2 bell ends - should of seen their face when telling them to sit down. They also said this will be the season that we go down, great optimism lads
  12. Fantastic start, Kusunga all game was brilliant. Opening 10 minutes could of been 2-0 up, however then we let them back into it and Wolves looked really good, was only a matter of time till they scored. Second half FAR better - pressed them high up the pitch, didn't give them time on the ball and had 2/3 close chances. Millar's effort was fantastic and everyone in the Chaddy thought it was in. Really good game, much better than I thought it would be as in all honesty I thought we'd get rolled 3-0 but bring on the replay. Only downside was arguing with a couple of bell ends behind me but won't let that ruin a good performance well done lads same again tuesday!
  13. Rotherham was class - know quite a few who are going to this so think we'll make a racket. Let's do our bit and make noise for the 90 to support the lads
  14. be more wolves than oldham at this, can see a very depressing afternoon at BP on the horizon next saturday...
  15. They are bottom for a reason - remember that. Although their squad does look impressive lol
  16. Alright chaps and chapesses Going to this on saturday, hopefully we can make up for tuesday which sounded dreadful. For me, I'd go with Rooney and JCH up front with 2 wingers, good mix of pace, power and height upfront (most of that JCH in all honesty) but away from home I think that would be good. Have these 2 started together in any other games than derby? In that all I remember is JCH running away from Rooney but I'm sure LJ bollocked him for that. I'd also give monty a go, we saw in pre season what he can do after a run of games, he really is a confidence player. I think after a few games he could be quality but he needs the chance to build on it, not the odd performance here and there. He's also probably our best player on the counter, and away from home, you need that. Hopefully this will be 3 points, if we lose to bottom of the league twice in 5 days I think OWTB will have a meltdown. Who's going?
  17. that Danny Byrnes sounds a good player, always seems to be popping up in the match reports. Could have a decent prospect there
  18. Looks like Kusunga had a mare that night. He's looked alright for the previous few games he played I thought.
  19. Agree with BTS 100% - they are both in the bottom 4 for a reason - get at them and make up for the away performance (more the tactics I guess) last week and go for 6 points, it's definitely doable.
  20. Tell me about it he should have just sprinted to the line and tapped it in - never been so annoyed after a win lol
  21. him missing that let me down for £70 the bar steward - £3 on 3-1 oldham
  22. Never seen Joksts starting guys - Winchester Kusunga Grounds Mellor it will be. Watched Joksts in pre season he looked okay, couple of dodgy touches but looked alright. Not sure why he's never been given a chance but there must be a reason, perhaps it was a bit of a "panic" signing unless he's earning :censored: all and LJ thought he might develop into a half decent centre half.
