No coincidence  that since Rhodes went we have a looked a totally different side, attitude completely changed from ultra negative. Our pressing when not in possession is fantastic.

After recent performances against Tranmere, Lincoln  & Bury there is nothing to fear in this league.

    Correlation/causation etc. etc.

Think you need to factor in having your top goalscorer on the bench until the last 20.

Moving your second best forward out to the wing whilst accommodating the prolific COG.

When and if the day comes where we see Surridge and Lang together with no Miller or COG,i will see a statement of intent

The fact we haven't seen this pairing is Bunn's fault and could have a bearing on why we are heading for a 55 to 57 point and 15th place finish in a truly dreadful league.

Tilt that on its head and you could argue taking a winger off for a striker is a statement of intent in itself. If this argument that Bunn was "settling for a point" had any merit, surely he'd have been making defensive-minded subsitutions?

Surridge got 30 minutes, having been out injured for several weeks, and with another difficult game on Tuesday. Given his injury record this season, it seems quite sensible to me to ease him back in gently.

We weren't especially bad, but we were far from great. Thought Edmundson and Clarke played well, as did Lyden. They had periods where they looked a half decent side, but also had large periods where they looked like they belonged on the local park.

We seemed to settle for a point once they scored, which was most disappointing, but not as disappointing as being pegged back after the game for 30 minutes without any good reason...

Gave away another daft free-kick which led to their goal, though...

Despite him having a yellow, he should not have taken off Branger when he did. Miller should have gone early doors. Keeping lang central to then partner with Surridge who changed the whole dynamic of the game when he first came on.

I would have started Surridge, rather get 60 out of him than 30.

Would have liked to see us at least challenge for a goal rather than being satisfied and hanging on for a point. E.g playing a short corner when their captain and centre half has gone off with all of their men back behind the ball as well.

Resorted to hoofing the ball too much in the first half which their defenders dealt with most comfortably. Instead, when we passed with pace and intent their lack of speed really showed and we created a lot of problems for them.

End of the day we should have won.

This is a throwaway comment. Admittedly the short corner incident was bizarre, but I think to question our attacking intent in the last 20 minutes is misguided.

I don't agree that we were "hanging on for a point".

If Surridge had scored his one-on-one at 1-0, it's game over; not a lot Bunn can do about that.

Always disappointing to give up a lead, but I think a point is a decent result.

Speechless. Incompetent to the extreme. Bunn got everything wrong today. Surridge had them on toast before they scored and he should have grabbed one. The fact Tranmere are in the play offs tells you everything you need to know about this league. Decent manager in charge and positive tactics would have seen us win comfortably.

The mindset at this club staggers me. Cheered off for a point when it should have been 3. We’ll never progress.

Enlighten us; what would you have done differently?

If McFarlane is a pro and we don't have three call ups then the match will go ahead

Would we be able to postpone the game even if he wasn't a pro and we don't have three call ups?

I'd assumed our only options would be to play him, or to get a goalkeeper on an emergency loan.

As a side-note; doesn't look like N. Ireland U21s are playing, so I think our only (eligible) call ups would be Iversen and Nepomuceno. My understanding is that the rule only applies to full international or U21 caps, so Robinson wouldn't count.

Oh yes let’s dance in jubilation as we managed to get 5 shots on target at 22nd in the league.

Piss off. Absolutely no desire to win that in last 10.

2 mins added on says it all. Another write off of a season, we’re lucky there’s only 2 relegation spots and we scraped those points at the start of the season.

    Bunn out. I’d take anyone.

Read this line several times now, and I'm still struggling to understand it...

It is as clear as mud. He has been here for nigh on 2 seasons and under 3 managers. None so far has managed to get a tune out of him, one good game this year against Bradford boys does not a player make.

Time to do a Menig and recognise he is just not good enough.

He was the best player on the pitch on Saturday...

    Lang up front with Benteke.

    Nepo in for Moauche/Branger

Would be more disappointed to see Benteke starting than O'Grady, personally. Haven't seen anything to suggest he's capable at this level.

Think Lang is worth a go up top though; his pace might at least give opposition defences something to worry about...

Surridge, Maouche and Nepo.... but only one of them was fit.

But if you are implying it is more the tactics than the players, then I agree with you.

I think in an ideal world you'd have Surridge and possibly Miller up front. But neither of them were available, so I don't think he had much other choice...

Though I would have started Nepomuceno and possibly moved Lang up top.

People moan that he didn't start another striker, but the only other option left is Benteke...

One look at today's team sheet and  I plunged into despair.

O'Grady on his own up front.

How can any manager think this is right a home?

What's more I think it will be no different Tuesday.

Out of interest, who would you have had on the team sheet instead?

  12. Unlucky to lose - but we probably weren't clinical enough in the final third to deserve more than a point. Newport got two more than they came for; I'm yet to see a decent side in this league.

Thought Missilou, Lang, Zeus and Taylor played well. Edmundson was pretty good too.

Branger was largely anonymous, and Surridge didn't have his best game. Baxter did nothing when he came on.

Gardner was poor for the last half-hour, but think some of the vitriol on here is a bit of an over-reaction...

We've played worse and won games.
