  1. minus quite a few who couldnt be bothered queueing when they saw how long the line was for the Latics end of the Rochdale Road End. Two got thrown out when they scored, one with a united hat on. The R.R.E is shocking from the away fans perspective. Couple of hundred kids who spend most of their time pointing outside and making cut throat gestures. It hardly seemed like Ninian Park used too on a friday night! Awful game. Carlisle deserved to win.
  2. I work there as do a number of other Latics. One who's posted on this thread. New Bridge is going nowhere - infact it's looking at expanding and i'd wager alot of money that the current site will become a post 19 special needs facility if what we've been told the past six months is true.
  3. Kaskenmoor is a no go. Purely for the simple fact there is also another school on that land which was only built 6 years ago. Add to that the astroturf has been condemned since september and no further plans to do it up have yet been finalised. It isnt owned by Kaskenmoor. The ball hall however is. The talk at the minute (and has been for a good six months or so) is that the school (New Bridge) which shares Kaskenmoor is looking into the possibility of taking over the land and using the current OASIS/Kaskenmoor as a Post 19 special needs school. At current they own the car park and half the playground, so what Kaskenmoor/Oasis actually own themselves is nowhere near big enough to build a football ground.
  4. 370 147 of which are going purely to sing "you :censored: yorkshire b*stard, get out of their club" for 90 minutes.
  5. Burnley used to have a big following locally about a decade ago. Not so much nowadays.
  6. Get out of their club............ YOU :censored: YORKSHIRE BA........
  7. He's been injured. He played well yesterday before taking quite a few knocks again. Hopefully he goes, but even if he does. It'll be too late to use any of that money to fund any transfers.
  8. Youths won 2-1 after being battered by dale in the second half. Got extremely lucky with two goal mouth scrambles. The black lad upfront for 'dale was rapid. Latics were 2 up within the first ten minutes.
  9. Bookies wouldnt give odd's at half time on 5-0 Southampton. Even had the girl phoning up for odd's. Was rather pleased when the 6th went in as i'd of been annoyed how much i'd missed out on otherwise. Southampton were a class above anything else we've seen this season - that said it still doesnt excuse the fact no professional side should be getting thumped by 6 at home to a team in the same division. It's simply not acceptable. Basic Basic mistakes yet again - same every single week it seems. Lack of idea, too slow on the counter, no plan b and you could see from the opening five minutes Southampton were bigger, stronger, fitter than us yet nothing was done to combat it till the game was out of reach. I hope Dean Brill was sat in the stands with a smug grin on his face when that 2nd went in. You can praise Southampton till your hearts content but the facts are, we were poor tonight. Really poor. Men against boys! What odd's are Southampton to win the league?
  10. Without a doubt. Heard it's a good night down there but i've done weekends in Peterborough and Southampton this season and spent about £400 on them. Cracking weekend's but definitely expensive to do. Doing 4 days in Prague instead in February. £200 flights, hotel, transfers, etc. Sparta Prague v Liverpool the week i'm there too.
  11. I've been asked to go Blackburn v West Brom in a few weeks by a Rovers fan. It's a tenner for adults and a fiver for kids. Normal matchday prices arent that far off what we pay into Boundary Park. Add to that you can get a train to Blackburn for about £8 return and already it's cheaper than what it costs to get in at Latics. Not the first time this season they've had ticket prices that cheap, as the Fulham game was the same. Had a look on the blackburn website and they've a half season ticket for sale at £125 adults, which includes games against United, City, Blackpool, Newcastle, Birmingham, Bolton, Spurs and also included Liverpool and Stoke at the time it came out. Latics simply cant compete with that value. We continue to be charged £20 which people simply cant/wont pay on a regular basis. Football no matter what the cost though, is an expense some can live without due to the fact there is a live game on sky pretty much every day of the week. Expecting masses to turn up for 3rd division football isnt going to happen for a team who've been in this league over a decade. Oldham is a poor town, Boundary Park is awful, the atmosphere and general feel about the place is piss poor. The ground is full of little chavs and moaning old sod's who the players can do no right for. It's nothing more than a three sided depressing sh*thole nowadays that has lost all the charm it once had. Facts are there is no answer to the problem whilst we are in this league and prices against opposition that we face are as high as they are. It's not appealing and is exactly why the "stay away" fan wont be at Boundary Park more than 4 times in a season. You could have done all the initiatives you wanted to for these three games this 8 days we'll have played and no matter what the cost Latics could afford to put it at or thought was "reasonable" - it wouldnt be appealing or low enough to appeal to "stay aways". People saying it's "brilliant football" - it's not, you can try to kid peope into coming for one game by saying "you're missing out but the reason they dont come back the following home game is simply because it's not value for money". It's third division football in what is ultimately a poor league. Same for every other club in League 1 and 2 who faces exactly the same problem bar the one or two obvious exceptions. No point moaning about it. Just something that needs to be accepted in modern day lower league football.
  12. I was supposed to be staying down there. Cant really afford another £200 and a few days off work for another long weekend away with Latics. So opted out. Rooms were available cheap in b&b's and premier inn's etc the other month. Not sure on prices at the minute. Haha!
  13. 3 home games in 8 days is alot of money if you're not a ST holder. 2 home games in 8 days is alot of money for some. Even more so given there's been no payday since the financially crippling christmas period. People pick and choose and out of those three (dale, swindon, southampton) more often than not people would opt to give Swindon a miss.
  14. Poor game, but three points despite not playing that well is a good sign. There are some absolute balloons in the Main Stand upper. Never heard so much tosh spouted around me in a 90 minutes before.
  15. It's no wonder Kyle looked shattered after the game when I saw him then.
  16. most of those shots on target were powderpuff, like the one from Taylor that trickled to the keeper. How many of those corners came one after the other following a defence clearance. Quite a few. Stats are fairly misleading in most games.
  17. +1 Substitution of Nicky Adams on for Joe Thompson was the major tactical decision in the game. Dale up until that point offered nothing in the way of threat on goal.
  18. The one that went to penalties. There was about 500. Pubs on Rochdale Road should be a bit emptier than usual when sizeable followings are here. Already been in town and the regals pretty busy. Seems most are staying in there for the day. Giro's dont stretch too far in 'dale, especially after christmas - so doubt they can be affording to pay £2.70 a pint on Rochdale Road.
  19. The fact it's Hartlepool away meant we were never going to win. The new Port Vale.
  20. We do particularly for the southern games. We arent anything special numbers wise when we have to travel more than an hour and get pretty much similar numbers to what dale take. Locally Latics will take more always but that's due to us having more fans. They'll have about 2,400, which isnt bad given they only get 3,000 most weeks. It's already more than Stockport, Bury used to bring. The buzz for 'dale fans about this game isnt anywhere near like it was for Oldham fans earlier in the season. When people you'd not seen at BP in years decided to turn up. Not entirely sure why that is, but most 'dale fans dont see us as there new bury yet. Hopefully there will be about 7,000 there.
  21. Favourite Match of 2010 : Plymouth at home Least Favourite Match of 2010 : Accrington in the cup. Awful. Left on the hour mark and went to the nearest pub. Most entertaining match of 2010 : Peterborough away 5-2. Great attacking play from both sides, awful defending. Least Entertaining Match of 2010 : All those with "Oldham 0" under Penney. Best Atmosphere at a match in 2010 : Dale away post match in the Litten Tree on that Tuesday Night. Equalled only by the Regal Moon post match on the saturday game. Favourite Latics related moment of 2010 : Singing Oldham songs on the streets and in the bars of Peterborough and Southampton long into the night. Southampton was a class night out, ending up in some dodgy afro-carribean club singing "Oooooumare Tounkare" to pretty much every lad in the place. Player of 2010 : Sean Gregan. Goal of 2010 : That last minute winner against Plymouth purely for the relief and celebrations that followed.
