  1. negative boring football has got Eyre the sack. He's failed to live on the expectation he said he'd achieve and a relegation scrap and early cup exits have had the fans on his back for the past month or two now. Dale fans have been lucky in recent years to have seen decent players come through and the side that Keith Hill set up being one of the best passing/footballing sides in the lower leagues. It's no surprise to see Eyre has been sacked as it has been coming for a while.
  2. There was a fair few in the mainstand upper who are regulars who were complete numpties. Bloke in an Oldham rugby club chirping up how he'd been since 67 and this was crap and continually contradicting himself by his praise of southend and negativity of Latics. Then there was another old bloke a few seats down who spent the entire game doing similar and also slagging off those in the RRE singing away creating some sort of atmosphere. Neither of them seemed to like the idea of possession football against ten men when 1-0 up for some reason?? Then there is the whopper in the rifle at the Gregan talk on saturday night who's question was wondering why messi and co get £200k a week at Barca and our players only get £2k as to him, there isnt much difference in quality. Pretty much everyone left in the pub cringed at that one. It's not just daytrippers who spout :censored:e from the stands, Phil.
  3. No we wont. The JPT isnt until mid January week commencing the 16th Liverpool play city but that shouldnt matter as they'll probably play there reserves against us either day
  4. Hope it's not another Peterborough when we would of had Chelsea had we won.
  5. From what i've gathered from those I know who support either club. Dale like to call any oldham fans they know biffo's, but simply in a joking way for a bit of banter. Most arent arsed about Latics in the slightest which is why the majority of dale fans I know didnt go as they couldnt justify paying £23 in what the only ever describe as a "three sided :censored:hole". Most have saved there money for gigg lane instead. Bury away for dale in a few weeks and it was interesting to note that the dale fans I know were mentioning that game over the one happening sooner with us. Even Halifax away back in the 90's and early 00's had more of an edge to it from a dale perspective with the guarenteed 2,500 descending on the shay en masse from the double decker buses laid on outside the town hall. Bury will always be 'dales rival, regardless of anything latics do in the next decade. Theres too much recent history between the two. Bury hate dale, dale hate bury. Those i've took to spotland in the past will tell for themselves that there is no ill feeling from dale fans when you mention you're an oldham fan. Latics fans on the other hand are desperate for a rival and someone to hate (Wigan, Hudds, Blackpool, Tranmere) to name but a few over the years and 'dale simply seem to be the latest one. Cheering half time scores when they're losing and trying to big up the game. The game at Spotland will have more of an atmosphere, feeling and passion about it simply because Latics fans hate dale, fsr more than dale hate Latics. I do agree with the person who put about the likes of when burnley, preston and that used to come and the days in the paddock. Thats when there was a buzz about the place but since those days and being put as far from opposition fans as possible. how are you supposed to create a bit of banter and prevoke some kind of rivalry?
  6. No. I was in the chaddy against sheff utd and 'dale.
  7. Joe Hart Clichy Terry Ferdinand Cahill Yaya Toure Modric Barton Murphy Hernandez Ameobi ----- Subs De Gea Jagielka Jarvis Ebanks Blake
  8. Even at a tenner it wouldnt be packed. Its carlisle at home on a tuesday night in the carling cup.
  9. already signed Ashley Grimes on a free who was released by Millwall, who was ex city youth. So guess that counts
  10. cant believe they've made charlton and chesterfield CAT A games. Laughable
  11. There are various issues as to why i've not been a Latics game since Bristol Rovers away - I went Notts County but was one of a small number who never left Hooters. After watching the shower that was Bristol away then going to Celtic/Rangers and the best atmosphere i'll ever see. It's a bit hard to go from that to anything really, especially an "Oldham Athletic Nil" that we got used to around that time. Can question my loyalty or not all you want, doesnt bother me. Been enough grounds all over the country this year to decide when I have had enough until next season. There's been no games of real appeal/interest. End of season games with nothing to play for do not make me want to go - which is why I turned down a free ticket to 'dale v posh on saturday. Once again next season i'll be picking and choosing my games and they'll be fewer and further between than this season. Ultimately though the main reason for me not going is theres more to life than football and paying £20 to watch Oldham in a three sided ground is not topping my priority list at the minute and wont do for most of next season. I'd much rather take my little neice out for the day, spend time visiting grandparents (whilst ive got the chance) or go to a gig instead. Its simply not value for money at current. As for being mutual with what you've deleted, not at all.
  12. dont like bury but itll be a cracking day on the piss in bury town centre all day. Just hope it's on a saturday.
  13. The "I just cant get enough" song has nothing to do with the IRA, British Army or such like so how can it be offensive? Its a remade version of the Depeche Mode song. Simple as that. You're making it out like people are singing a Celtic Rebels Song. You can do as you want in regards to singing songs, it makes no bones to me but if you're basing it purely on the fact Celtic have a very small minority (compared to the many hundreds of thousands of celtic fans there are in the world) of (Pro Irish, IRA, Anti British) supporters then it is quite narrow minded. That's like branding the entire Oldham fanbase as a bunch of racist hooligans because a small percentage of Oldham fans (FYC) played a part in the race riots in 2001 as well as attended BNP, Combat 18 and such like events. Generalising a fanbase on a small minority isnt a fair reflection of any clubs support and we as Latics would be peeved off if fans started generalising - which is exactly what the vast majority of Celtic, Rangers fans get like when people do it to them based on a tiny percentage. The chant is one of the most original and catchy in recent years which is why Liverpool, Stoke and numerous other clubs fans have tried to replicate it.
  14. A minority of its fanbase you forgot to add. That chants all down to a number of us who use the rifle mini buses to away games going to the Celtic v Rangers game the other month (that now infamous cup game on the wednesday night) then it being sung on buses to and from grounds since with Latics.
  15. It looks :censored: and reminds me of west london blue on pro evo
  16. Anyone any tips who's been before? There's two of us, maybe three depending on him being able to book days off going over for my birthday at the end of May. Found some cheap deal for around £160 flights, accomodation and breakfast each. Been told a few things by an uncle who's been about never splitting up. We're going to go and watch Slavia Prague as they're at home the weekend we go in what is apparantly a derby against Bohemians.
  17. slurms. take your head out of the sand I was there. I did the tour today and saw first hand the damage Bougherra has done to the tunnel after being sent off and kung fun kicking a part of it. Add to that the seats that have been booted out where the rangers fans were last night, as well as the tour guide stating that the toilets in the away end have been "dismantled". Yet you're laying all the "thuggish" comments on celtic. Anyway. By far the best footballing experience of my life. Never experienced an atmosphere like that and probably wont again. Down the Gallowgate was mental before the game and that walk to the ground. Amazing atmosphere. Should of been alot more than 1. Rangers were awful and once the first sending off happened there was only one winner. when a side takes 86 minutes to have a shot on target in a cup game you have to worry. enjoy the suspensions! JUST CANT GET ENOUGH!!!
  18. Not me. I was in the social club behind the home end talking to some of there fans.
  19. Hardly morons as he ran past grinning. Bit of light hearted banter after he'd popped off to one of the portacabin toilets behind the net.
  20. Reuben had a :censored:, had a :censored:, Reuben had a :censored:! Once again a game lost because we've failed to put away our chances. Feeney, Tonk, Reid arent going to get you goals, Dickov. On the playing side of the club, this is what should be taking priority in the summer.
