  1. Anyone else find it funny you could get a pint before the game yesterday. Don't know why the club didn't just say alcohol won't be served at half time because the police want to sober you up for two hours.
  2. Think the Chaddy - RRE debate has been settled for these cup games. yesterday was something else. Singing in the ground twenty minutes after full time. Pubs after the game were bouncing.
  3. 6pm kick off. Loads of people out on all dayers. It's just the police's excuse to try and sober people up for two hours.
  4. well done the club. It's nice of them to have the balls to tell the police where to go to meet Latics fans demands.
  5. Clutching at straws. I hope the club show them all the twitters posts different colleagues in GMP put on. As there is a fair few. Stating how there wasn't much trouble. Contradicting themselves in the aid of getting more money. Hope the club make a stand.
  6. I won't be going if they get the entire RRE. The club have come out and said after Liverpool in all the articles about getting the buzz back into the club. Denying as many latics fans as possible just kills that buzz. I hope someone at the club prints off the Gmp twitter account quotes from the game and asks them to explain the minimal trouble tweets. tell them to :censored: off corney.
  7. I would like to know how the police find it easier to police 4,600 away fans than 2,700. Given that most home fans generally go home after a game whereas away fans involve travelling via train, coaches, mini buses etc and tend to be the ones who will drink more on the day. I would also like to know why their twitter accounts reported minimal trouble on the day with only a few arrests yet they somehow say that there was trouble inside and outside the ground??? The only thing I saw was 30 Liverpool fans being contained at the top of sheepfoot lane after the game by riot police. Hardly trouble! I think it'll be a disgrace if latics give them the entire RRE. You've just given them half the capacity and completely taken away your home advantage
  8. If you cant run on the pitch to celebrate the club's biggest win in over a decade then there's something wrong. Far too much doom and gloom around to pass up moments like sunday for fear of consequences.
  9. Moan if people go. Moan if people dont. Get a grip. Fair play to anyone who paid £20/£25 regardless of their affiliation to the club.
  10. I dont really understand the moat's use in the Rochdale Road End with regards to segregation. Is it not deemed adequate as away fans generally recieve the full allocation. Even in games such as this Liverpool one where demand would see fit to fill it with home fans. Or is it that the club would rather fill it with away fans than home? FA cup rules stipulate only 10% of the capacity which is the small section of the stand, is required for the away support. Always on 'police advice' the club have their arms bent (or so they say) and we are fed this excuse. Blackpool playoffs was one of the more recent. Anyone remember that sea of tangerine. Its a sorry sight when you're giving away 35-40% of the capacity to the opposition and expecting to create some sort of feel good factor and buzz to push us on to the biggest cup shock of the season. It was deemed adequate against teams when we were in the premier league and has been used against teams who filled the small section in recent years, yet I do believe we will see the news headline - Liverpool recieve full allocation of RRE on police advice in the next few days. If it's a case of the little chavs throwing sweets/coins at one another then surely a netting would stop that. With a £135,000 TV fee it's not an expense we could ill afford and 3,000 extra home fans rather than scousers would only benefit the side more and offer more of us who dont attend home games to maybe come back. This is the biggest opportunity in the past decade for the club to get as many Oldhamers back into Boundary Park for one day as possible, but in all honesty I dont think they're arsed about who fills the seats. Not to worry, im sure the Liverpool players will be happy when they come out at BP to see 4,600 scousers singing you'll never walk alone.
  11. Full English with a few pints at 8am, then on to Yates (old Litten tree) for jagerbombs at half twelve.
  12. Is this your latest attempt to be a self confessed superfan and boost your ego? Fact is you purposely went out of your way to rub in everything you were doing at City and slagging off those of us who still went to Latics. In your own words, were saying that you'd never had a better time supporting a football team in the process. So the sudden change of heart obviously doesnt wash with those who know you. No one would have really cared if you'd of just stopped going Latics and not made a big song and dance about it - there's plenty who've done similar but the way you went about it is why you got the reaction you did. You're a liar, Lee. Proven by the way you had people waiting outside your house on numerous occasions when you played for the fans team and couldnt give them a reason. Proven by all the lies you spouted about trials for different teams - including the likes of Shrewsbury and various non league teams. Proven by all the bull you spouted all over facebook in the time you were following City. I dont trust or believe anything you say. You got the reaction you wanted.
  13. question: If you are a non season ticket holder, will you be taking up the offer and will it have any impact on your attendance at BP next season. This is the question the club need answering and the vast majority including mine will be the same. Answer: Yes, i'll be taking up the offer of buying a ticket and giving the club £15 more than they would have got from me for these games. Ultimately though it will have no impact whatsoever on my attendance at BP next season - as once again I will be continuing to pick and choose to go to the games and the odd offer the crops up depending on what that offer is. ------ I agree with fruitygoo. It's not the stadium, the football. They have an impact but its minimal in comparison to the overiding factor which is the price. you have to debate with yourself whether you think it is value for money. At the prices Latics charge for a season ticket and on the day admissions I generally deem it not.
  14. Dont get me wrong and I will be taking the offer up, but I am a little annoyed at the fact it's once again us stayaways that get the incentive rather than the ones who follow the club everywhere getting the thanks. Friends of mine are still paying £300+ for a season ticket and spending £70+ every other week travelling all over the country with little thanks of their time and effort supporting the club. I'm glad I stopped getting a season ticket the other year and following the club all over as there is absolutely no incentive to get one and no thanks for doing so. You get spoonfed all this garbage every summer about how much you'll save but year on year (for the last few since I had a season ticket at least). Numerous offers crop up for the stay away fan. It's £15 of my money the club will get that they wouldnt have, and I know the situation we are in financially that an offer like this was inevitable but isnt it time season ticket holders are given a reward to thank them for their efforts for the continuing support despite the dwindling crowds around them. Season ticket holders year on year at Latics are overlooked
  15. Rifle Range have four mini buses going. White Hart have a coach. Think both are around £10 each return. If you ring or pop into either of them i'm sure they'd be able to get you on.
  16. There are one or two cases on this thread that I can sympathise with but it does work both ways. I was block 123 Row 20 and had an altercation with a bloke two rows behind. I also told the woman on the row behind to give it a rest as she spent the entire game going "oh this is crap latics" and "nevermind singing ooh roger palmer, just get it in the bloody net.". I've got a video of Latics fans singing but feel like deleting it due to the nonsense you can hear her coming out with on it. It really is quite embarrassing in one of our biggest games in recent years. The abuse towards Taylor who was clapping the fans and giving his shirt to a fan was vile. Anyway, the guy two rows behind spent the game informing me I had to sit down - even when we scored, had a corner, created a good chance, made a substitution, etc, etc. I spent the match largely sat down which I dont have a problem with but like I told him - this is a football match, at times of excitement those infront of me will stand, and I will do the same. He tried to tell me to have a go at the people stood infront to sit down but I told him that I wasnt going to do anything of the sort. One of his arguements was 'I paid £25 for my seat." - my arguement back was "I paid £25 to support my club which ultimately should be the reason all 6,000 of us have travelled to Liverpool on a friday night.". I also mentioned that I am not sitting down if it means i'm looking at someone's back and that I wouldnt be telling anyone to sit down infront who was clearly enjoying the occasion and making the most of a game that doesnt come around too often. I have no problem with people sitting down, that is there choice - they do however have to accept where they are and what they are watching, the occassion, passion, etc and realise that at certain points people will stand up cheer, get excited and all the rest of it - anyone who doesnt and merely goes for the view may as well stay at home and watch it on tv in my opinion when the opportunity arises. The bloke spent the entire game moaning about the club, the fans, the team. I eventually snapped after listening to the constant negativity and drivel after we'd just missed a chance in the first half and turned round and told him to shut up boring everyone around him. A couple of Oldham fans on the row infront and nearby told me it was about time someone said something to him and that he'd of only been happy if all 6,000 of us had sat arms folded in silence regardless of what was happening infront of us.
  17. I thought they limited the ground to two stands due to financial reasons and the cost of opening them? At least that was the case when I went with 'dale in the playoffs there. Cracking ground. Far too big though. Best food kiosk i'll ever see at a football ground.
  18. simple case of people spitting their dummy out. club did what they dreamed of doing. shifting every ticket they had to make money. it matters no odds to anyone at the club who gets one after the season ticket holders have been sorted
  19. Just get tickets for the centenary stand block KG on Liverpool's site. Thats the section next to the Latics fans. Simple!
  20. If you want one that badly, go in the home end. There's plenty on Liverpool's site on open sale
  21. Just bought the lad I work with a 'shot glass chess' set (it has the pictures on the side). This seems like the cool version of chess and should make it a bit interesting when I pop up on christmas day night with a bottle of jager.
  22. Liverpool fans I know say it is dodgy as anything in those two pubs mentioned
  23. Didnt Liverpool only send over a batch of about 2,800 initially? That'll be why.
  24. The Rifle has two 75 seater coaches currently booked but around 220 names down for the trip so they're booking another coach. It'll be interesting before the coaches set off and on their return seeing as the pub only holds around 150 people. Sardines!
