  1. For me Ritchie and Bunn all the way! Will put bums on seats, both local and have a good affinity with the club and the fans. As said on radio yesterday Ritchie has unfinished business here, brought in some class last time Eyres, Shez and Carss, plus one of the big reasons he lost job here and at Barnsley was cos he wouldn't spend money, suits us fine as we haven't got any and will fit in with TTA tight budget. Frankie very good coach especially with the youngsters and must have some very good contacts at City which can only lead to a better quality of loan player from City next season. With these two quality strikers in charge, good chance of attacking football and the feel good factor would be back. Before you say go for something different rather than someone previously played here, Shez didn't do too bad did he!
  2. Im sick of hearing its the fans fault for getting Ronnie Moore sacked, John Sheridan sacked and trying to get Dave Penney sacked what a load of crap! It was the TTA that sacked the managers not the fans!!! Ronnie Moore was sacked due to poor season ticket sales, that was their decision as crowds are much worse now, personally was glad got rid as his football was crap and was glad we brought in Shezza, Tommy and Dux. Fans only to blame in that they didnt buy season tickets!!! John Sheridan was sacked by TTA for off the field problems, ie problems with Windass, the dogs incident with Hughesy, drinking culture and the results were starting to go from bad to worse. Fans were getting restless but did not get Shezza sacked don't kid yourselves as soon as Oldham were hitting the headlines for the wrong reason and results were not the best the TTA were looking for the best way to change things and then decided to bring in someone to appease the Oldham public Joe Royle who then was given the job of getting rid of our only hope of promotion Lee Hughes!! Dave Penney only has himself to blame, no attempt to try to bother with the fans from day 1, totally negative tactics, poor signings and taking months to realise the obvious! The fans knew early season we needed a keeper to push Brill for his place, knew we needed centre back cover for Greegs and Rubes, knew that Parker was not up to the job. He made big decisions on players like O'Grady and Alessandra without really seeing them play and he got lucky with Dale Stephens who if it wasn't for injuries would still probably have not played. He has turned us to a boring unattractive side to watch, where is the flying wingers we had under Shez both Taylor and Smalley have gone backwards under Penney. I'm sick of the happy with one point attitude very much better not to lose than risk going for a win. The majority of the fans want rid and I can understand why, relegation to league 2 is not an option if it comes down to the last few games I fear for us because under Penneys management and tactics I don't think we have enough to see us over the line. Yes it will cost us to sack him but what will it cost sticking with him, league 2 football and next season possibly the lowest season ticket sales in my lifetime and I'm 40 soon!!! I personally believe that with the right tactics and positive management there are enough good players at the club to help us survive well before the last couple of games! All I will say if we're going to chant to get rid of Penney, let's wait til the appropriate time ie half time after the game as it does not help the players during the game! I was one of the few in the Rocky Road End trying my best to sing louder than the boo boys and getting behind the team, it was hard work as the silent majority didn't want to know! Sorry for the long post but still angry after yesterdays game, think I need to go to the pub!!!!
  3. I will be renewing but have got to admit this season for me has been the most crappy boring season since I started attending games on a regular basis in the early eighties! I even enjoyed Talbot's time in charge more than this season, but that might have something to do with beating City and the flair of Kilkenny and Croft!
  4. Yeh 2-0 would be good but capable of more, Tuesday night should and could have been few more but Penney tactics made sure we were happy to settle for 2!
  5. Think today could be the day for a good win but oh no with Penney in charge not a chance, as soon as we are 2-0 nil up he will just tell the team to defend the lead! Seen it all before and don't think we've scored 3 or more in any game under Penney yet!!
  6. No way has Eaves looked anywhere near embarrasing, looked ok to me! We've done the Smalley up front think and it doesn't work and we've tried Parker up front and doesn't really work, give Eaves a chance!
  7. Haha Lags thats quality!! Dread to think what state we'll be in if we carry on the way we are going! Probably in League 2 with owners who will be ready to jump ship cos the new ground is not happening and they already know that!
  8. Think Penney has next few weeks to save his job, but whether he is here or not will renew next year. Interested to see what the 'very exciting offer' mentioned in the programme on Wednesday is with regards to Season Tickets for next year! Only way to get plenty of bums on seats is to do like Hudders did 100 quid season tickets but honestly cant see Latics trying anything like that!
  9. The only way we will stay up is if we play players in their correct positions and actually go for the win on a regular basis! Message to Penney if you want the fans to be behind you 'Attack Attack Attack Attack Attack!', that's all we ask let's try and win games!!!!
  10. Got to agree I'm all for giving the manager time but feel that defeats next week against Orient and then at County week after will see the end of Penney! Two massive games in next fortnight!
  11. RIP Gareth. Why does the big man upstairs always take the good ones?
  12. Show some ambition and bring in someone half decent, with a bit of passion like Dowie or I hate to say this but maybe young Fergie as at least he might be able to get us the odd decent player on loan from Fergie snr and did pretty good job at Peterboro.
  13. Got to agree with Tangerine Dreams, the fans want a team who will attack and battle for 90 minutes and then if we still get beat at least we've given 100%. For me it is now the time to give Brooke and Eaves a chance to play together in the 1st team , as if Heffers is injured who do we play maybe Blackman but Smalley and Parker both look more like wingers.
  14. The players might not be good enough but DP has got to change his style, let's go for it in games and if we lose at least we've had a go instead of all this ultra defensive stuff which is still ending up with the same result we still get beat!
  15. If the TTA are seriously going to consider the fans opinions, I don't mind moving to Failsworth but for me the ground has got to be a replica of Molde's, our very own Oldham Arena none of this nonsense with no corners filled in. We don't want to have a copy of these 'new' grounds we want an Arena which will be different and may even help us create a better atmosphere!
  16. Thats looks and sounds awesome, worth a try Sunday!
  17. Any chance you can send me Boys in Blue and Roger Palmer Rap? Thanks Please send to bardsleyhhfc@aol.com
  18. Much as its been done before, I'm all for regionalisation and derbies every week. Also think crowds would improve and over season we would make more cash through attendances than ever would in our mainly southern division.
  19. Lemars agree totally, Latics use the police excuse everytime it's all about £ £ £!! You want a good atmosphere to help cheer the boys to victory we shouldn't be being moved from the stand with the best acoustics. I bet there's more season ticket holders in RRE then Chaddy, we should think of our own fans for once!!
  20. Didn't realise they had been given all RRE, what a load of :censored:! Seem to remember did this for Leeds last season and it was nowhere near full! Suppose will have to go in Chaddy but not happy bout it As been said by others on police advice game switched to Sunday then chance bit of banter in RRE and they say can't do that!
  21. Yeh deffo from the Chron got my pictures of team celebrating winning league in changing room and Redders scoring the penalty from them.
  22. Leezy has got a dodgy PC, can only get on when at work. He does always try to see the positive but is still taking some convincing that we were right to sack Shezza, and although Friday was crap he seemed to forget there were numerous equally as bad performances last season under Shez!
  23. That i am afraid is the kids of today!!! Sadly these kids are paying their money and turn up every home game, unlike so many in the town!
  24. The first was a good strike but down to the fact Gregan didn't close down his man, stood off him watching him and the striker using Gregan's body to block Brill's view, and great finish. Second no comment if a Sunday League keeper did that he would be hammered! Third great free kick, stupid free kick given away by Rubes and then Brill not best positioned and didn't even move! If I was opposition player at moment would try a shot with every free kick! Come on DP everyone else can see it, it is the keeper and the CB's who are the weakest links and have been since pre-season! Good point about GK coach, why's he not out with Brill at half time instead of him just practising with Josh!
  25. That's your opinion you've obviously already made your mind up on him, hope he proves you wrong!
