    ‘Scrambling round’ in that league has earned him a call-up to a national side with many Premier League players. He made a choice to drop down a level to be more comfortable back home, it’s nothing to do with his ability.

He was 19 playing week in week out (barring a few injuries he suffered) in one of the top leagues in Europe.     The head coach should still have complete autonomy over team selection and tactics. A head coach is often picked based on the style of football they employ fitting the club philosophy/identity, but specific tactical decisions should still rest with them without fear of interference from above. Abdallah, currently, is not following the model.
