  1. We’d only lost 7 (Exeter was the 23rd game) and were 3 or 4 points from 7th. Plus it’s not really a fair comparison to make as the games recently have been against ‘lesser’ sides whereas you’re judging Frankie based on playing against everyone once. Only 3 of our remaining 10 games are against bottom-half sides... We still have 4 of the top 7 to play and also Swindon and Exeter who are both very much in the race for the play-offs.
  2. So they’re tired playing Saturday and Tuesday every week but also tired when they’re only playing once weekly because of intensive training Paul, ya’ joker...
  3. In the short-term yes, 100%. Frankie was doing slightly better than I expected - we were 5th at one stage during the Exeter game and then he got sacked a few days later, barmy. Still hopeful that Scholes can utilise his contacts in the summer, though.
  4. Obviously not writing Scholes off but I’ve not seen anything so far to suggest we’re going to challenge for promotion next season...
  5. I’m certain Frankie or Peter would’ve got considerably more points from these last few games...
  6. Stott written off the other night and now it’s George’s turn given some of the comments on Twitter. Embarrassing.
  7. Only 2 pages of rambling since the full-time whistle after an embarrassing defeat against a local rival whose ground we haven’t lost at for 5 decades tells you all you need to know. Universal apathy.
  8. Scholes’ first 4 games: W1 D1 L2 F7 A7 Bunn’s record against Yeovil, Bury, Crewe and Morecambe: W3 D1 L0 F8 A2 Not getting on Scholes’ back and I really hope we give him a full summer to implement his ideas and sign his own team but I’m just reiterating that Bunn was very, very harshly sacked (a point which I was called a contrarian for making). The ‘Dull’ shouts were genuinely bizarre - we were as attacking as we possibly could be with the squad available. From what I’ve heard (been unable to attend games this past month due to other commitments) the last 3 second-half performances have been some of the worst in living memory. The players we currently have simply aren’t good enough to compete with the best teams in this division (a point which I received some pretty vile abuse for making last summer). Grim that the season is already over when we’re competing in the bottom tier and not even out of February. Lemsagam needs to invest a large amount in the playing squad If we want to be a force next season.
  9. Personally I’d pick the same team that violated them at BP (I don’t for a second think Scholes will). Lang pushed up top instead of Surridge and Dearnley on the right...
  10. Berry 1-2 Latics (HT 0-2) Jose Baxter baby 6,712
  11. And look how that one turned out... This.
  12. Carlisle are a miles better side than Vale?
  13. Stark difference to how we played against Bury at home, Crewe away, Tranmere away etc and how we’ve played in the last 2 games under PS and against Forest Green and Macc under Wild... Absolute tosh that Bunn was an overly negative manager. Anyway, we’ve got Scholesy now and need to back him...
  14. We were in good form until the Exeter game (a few days before he was sacked) so that seems silly. IIRC we went up to 5th during that match when Lang put us ahead. Bunn exceeded my expectations for the season in all honesty, our squad is poor.
  15. They’ve done it the opposite way this year so the smaller stand which housed a couple of hundred POTDers last season is the one that’s sold out. There will be about 1,300 in each based on current sales.
  16. Genuine question then: why were you so critical of Bunn?
  17. Also, writing off a young lad like Stott when he’s being played completely out of position He was the second coming of Maldini at MK 2 weeks ago, get a fucking grip.
  18. The arrogance of our fans is unbelievable. Whilst I didn’t agree with Bunn’s sacking one bit, we now have to get behind Scholes and I honestly believe that we can’t judge him until he’s had a full pre-season to stamp his authority on the squad and utilise his contacts. I got some vile abuse last summer for pointing out that our squad was not well equipped to be able to compete at the top end of this division because of Lemsagam’s chronic underfunding You can change manager 3 times per season for as many years as you like but ultimately they’re going to need investment from the owner in order to make OAFC a promotion challenger. Please do not force Paul Scholes out of our club, you space cadets.
  19. O’Grady is such an easy scapegoat, he’s never a lone striker and until the man picking the team realises this he will continue to contribute zilch. However, put him in a pairing with somebody more nimble and he will perform well. Our best football came when O’Grady partnered Surridge.
  20. Branger isn’t a young lad in footballing terms, he’s nearly 26...
