  1. Let's just hope that being 6th from bottom today does not seem a relatively desireable position in 6 months time!
  2. That would be £200 short of covering wage bill actually!".......
  3. I do not know what the semi pro footballers get but I do know what the likes of the cricket pros at Werneth Royton etc get paid for playing in front of crowds of 20. I will be amazed therefore if Salford City players are not getting far more than £200 a game.......to get an unknown not very good deputy pro in the CLL costs minimum £250 a game
  4. We lost 8 of our last 13 under johnson. Barnsley have lost 8 out of their last 8 under Johnson....and some want him back?
  5. Cup runs are slow burners and can ignite at any moment. We are still in and who knows what may happen...who will remember Mansfield away if we are beat Salford City on Tv and draw Arsenal at home in the third round? Having said that would I be surprised if we lost the replay? No
  6. Blimey, we are discussing the unknown reason for the award of a free kick in a kick about on a park pitch on A Tuesday afternoon?
  7. No too many long words and too few expletives methinks Monty
  8. How could I possibly argue with such a reasoned and eloquently expressed critique
  9. Thanks a lot. I am sure you can tell me then how close I am in saying that from those 47 games Dunn has got 9 points from 9 Kelly 7 from 7 Holden about 13 from 14 and Johnson 18 from 17 ie no material difference between them other than 2 seem to be supported and 2 vilified?
  10. But we have played more than 20since our win at Dale! Our results from 1st November 2014 to 31st October 2015 ( some expert will give us the stats) I guarantee would see us relegated by a distance....even with your 7 wins TMB it is 9 wins out of 46 ....horrendous in my book
  11. 2 wins from 26 since playing Rochdale in March?....we lost 8 out of 13 after playing Rochdale last November. This horrendous run goes back to1st November 2014. In fact it goes back so far it can't be called a run....more a norm?
  12. There is in my view some substance to the hypothesis of the question. My son for example is 25 years old. He has been brought up in a generation of wall to wall televised football with all it's highlights and low lights. In his lifetime though he has only seen Latics play in the same division with the same outcomes. Thanks to good parenting he still watches and supports us but to many of his generation it is not easy to promote the merits of watching Latics . It is difficult to quantify whether we have a lost a generation of supporters but we do need something to happen on the field to break the ""sameness " of everything. Increasingly we are becoming an anonymous football club
  13. Absolutely. When we beat Liverpool and Drew with Everton that accrued £ 212,000 in prize money and £ 486,000 in TV rights plus crowd income. For clubs like us the F A Cup is not a take it or leave it event. It can be life changing
  14. The worst aspect was that you could visibly see the fans ehthusiam, hope and interest drain. Critical times for the club
  15. johnson's current and former clubs now both in bottom 6... That is no coincidence! Genie out of the bottle methinks.
  16. Dogs on the pitch! when Lincoln City were relegated from the football league they lost on the final day at Swansea. Their rivals for relegation Burnley were simultaneously playing Torquay. That game however finished 10 minutes late because of a dog on the pitch. My lincoln supporting mate is still convinced about a conspiracy theory and the dog being deliberately introduced and is forever saying " look where Burnley are now? Cheats"
  17. Goal Average instead of Goal difference......when only those with O level maths could determine league positions!
  18. That begs the question then....why are so many posting about him! Why are there threads dedicated to his new appointment?
  19. No nor that our team mudded oafs either! I don't think that ":censored: post " is Kipling though
  20. When Kelly was dismissed recently I doubt many of us would have suggested that he would still be involved in the F A Cup after Dunn was eliminated. Given that Halifax are likely to play on the Sunday and we have a difficulty away game on the Saturday that eventuality is now more than a remote possibility? Kipling comes to mind!
