No. Anyone who signs for us seems to lose all footballing ability almost immediately
You’re in danger of @GKing521 levels of pessimism!

Hard to say, our defending was so poor, they resembled a row of traffic cones.
Makes you wonder though. Did their wingers raise their game for the occasion, or are they genuinely worth taking a chance on? I know we need a right back and a creative midfielder, but a good winger is always worth a place.

So did their right winger, and every player could actually pass a ball and run.
Got to be worth making an offer for one or both then, do you think?

14/1 to win it. Promotion doesn't look especially likely at the moment. Go for this!
I agree, we haven't exactly had much in the way of success in recent years. If we do win the competition we might need some WD40 to get the trophy cabinet open (if we still have one?!).

Now that's an interesting one. I used to dread hs co-commentaries and I still think he talks too much, but lately I've found myself agreeing with his points more often. Very worrying!

Latics' league record in the 29 full seasons since the Premiership demise is:
Pld 1325 W421 D399 L505
That breaks down as:
Championship/Div 1
Pld 138 W40 D40 L58
League One
Pld 966 W316 D298 L352
League Two
Pld 175 W49 D48 L78
Non League
Pld 46 W16 D13 L17
In those 29 seasons we've had 6 winning seasons, four of which were consecutive from 2005-2009 and 2009 was the last season where we won more than we lost. I'm amazed we have the fan base we do!
I'd say we were about due for a little success.

Thanks but already done that….still asking for subscription.
That's a bit odd. I read it yesterday without any problems and tried the link again just now, it opened without any trouble

Good article on Frank here....How the world’s oldest transatlantic rower stopped Oldham Athletic from sinking (inews.co.uk)
What a great article, thanks. We're so lucky to have Frank and co. I'm more optimistic than ever that we're heading in the right direction.

You have fell into the trap of talking about him. I assume it's because everything at Latics is a lot calmer, so random thoughts of the past come back.
Just forget him.

We all make mistakes. The secret is not to compound them by making the same ones over and over again - and occasionally admitting to them.
I think this sums up Mr Owen very well. Even now, if he was to show some humility and publicly admit how many things he got wrong, that would be something. I won't hold my breath.

I watched some of the session and it was played North Stand side, they actually still had the heat lamps on the pitch in front of the dugouts on the part of the pitch under the main stand roof which is notorious for freezing, it was a high tempo session but I wouldn't say anyone was diving in to anything other than James Norwood who looked in good spirits and dived in the box looking for a penalty. Ironically the session was watched by more Boreham Wood fans than Latics as they were invited in to hospitality and were fed and watered which I thought was a terrific gesture by the club in the circumstances.
That's great to hear. Lovely gesture. We're hopefully rebuilding our good name after the nightmare years of Lemsagam & co.

Didn't stop them enthusiasticly playing a match training session after the game was called off though.
Who are “them”? Might it be the players who were happy to play the match, and so were happy to train? Might there be a difference between training on a dodgy surface, and a full-on match?
Fans with tickets yesterday will get the chance to attend the rearranged match, or a refund. Yes, it was inconvenient for fans who travelled hoping to see a match, but it wasn’t cancelled in order to upset anybody. You often post interesting points on here, @BP1960, but you let yourself down sometimes with an unduly negative view.

It's obvious from the twitter x video some players wanted to play, but were dissuaded by others.
Maybe so and don't get me wrong there are aspects of modern football I hate (players feigning injury, mobbing the ref, time wasting, VAR......) but if it is the case that it was left up to the players to decide, and some of them didn't want to risk getting crocked on a pitch that was maybe less than 100% (otherwise why give them the option) then I'm not sure I would blame them for not wanting to play. One bad injury can end a career. It's always difficult deciding when to call off a game. Maybe as @oafc1955 says we need strict deadlines, with no discretion allowed.

So much for players clapping fans after a game, all for show, they couldn't care less.
Of the many posts attacking the club/referee/players/NL, I'm sorry BP but this one takes the biscuit. Why on earth do you think players not wanting to play on a frozen pitch undermines their clapping the fans, or shows they couldn't care less? Of course they would want to play, but you have to balance that against the risk of serious injury. No doubt 50 years ago they would have stubbed out their fags on the frozen pitch, downed a quick winter warmer and come out to play, but times have changed and the game has moved on.
More broadly, I get the disappointment, particularly for Boreham Wood fans (and let's drop the jokes about the 2 of them etc, however few there might be is irrelevant) but far from a shambles it's surely the case that every effort was made to get the game played and sadly it wasn't possible. It will be rearranged, nobody has died, and everyone can hopefully find something else to do with their free time this afternoon. It's not the end of the world. Bad weather happens, it's December!

I urge everyone to take that test when it turns up in your letterbox instead of dumping it in a drawer.
Two or three minutes of embarrassment at the doctors could save your life.
Horrible disease.
100% agree with this. I had my prostate whipped out in June after being diagnosed in January. I was lucky - they caught it early and a few months on I’m pretty well back to normal. I didn’t have any symptoms other than a PSA that was creeping upwards, though not particularly high. First few days after the op were a bit challenging but the NHS has been fantastic. So yes, get checked asap after you hit 50 and don’t take no for an answer (some GP surgeries are reluctant to do PSA tests at that age but it’s your right).

Strange world we live in. Whilst I agree with your general sentiment (oafc1955), why is it whenever someone expresses an opinion (sometimes valid) that doesn't agree with the majority of human sheep, they need to be removed from whatever platform? Free speech is fundamental to a democracy. We are turning into a communist state in many regards. I`ve decided to abandon all social media now - including here - it's just such an unbalanced place with little leftie cliques everywhere.
I hear what you’re saying, but I’m not sure there is much point in complaining about people needing to be banned and at the same time effectively banning yourself?
You always have the ignore/block option. If you’re really worried about free speech in our country, try living in Russia or China, though I don’t recommend it.

Haha easy spelling to do as you well know, yet both points stand. Your argument was weak and a poor attempt to recover the situation.
So original point stands, over reaction after Barnet. You didn't agree, yet in the depths of despair of a loss you suddenly emplore everyone to seek perspective. Same point, just made when everyone is seeking solace.
This will be my last response on this. Yet somehow I look forward to your level headed response after the next result.
Keep wallowing in negativity. I won't lose sleep over it.
