  1. Thing is we will always have some injuries as most clubs will. Boreham.Wood had only 3 subs fit to play yesterday..We had Gardiner, Ried, Kurt, Mike and Hobson to pick from, and they were still the better side. Lundstrom coming back should help to be fair and maybe Ward to a lesser extent, but they will need some time to gell and get matchfit so we need to use what we have better than we are doing. Also Unsworth was moaning about not being able to use 5 subs like the in EFL, yet he has failed to use 3 inside 90.minutes in any game this season I think.... bizarre!
  2. What some people on here don't seem to get, is that its not that a point at Chesterfield and Boreham Wood is particularly bad. It's the overall performance level, team structure and set up, in game tactics and substitutions, and confidence and ambition of the team...that Unsworth has selected and assembled by the way, to go out and win games of football, particularly away from home that's the big issue. Couple that with both his and Ebrells regular deluded comments in their after game pressers, and you see the problem. Iif I were to rate them out of ten so far in the 3 away games they would get 2/10 at Southend, 7/10 at Chesterfield, and 5/10 yesterday, and in all 3 games we have been 2nd best. I'm sorry but the table doesn't lie. Yes it's early and we are only 5 games in... but te sat in 15th place, be 7 points behind Hartlepool already, have a negative goal difference and not look like winning away from home just isn't good enough...end of. And by the way....the fact that he couldn't be arsed to come over and acknowledge the 400+ supporters who made the effort with national rail strikes etc, and who were pretty good in the main yesterday does him no favours at all. Unsworth out
  3. Agree but replace him with Reid and put Gardiner on for Shelton
  4. We shall see in April. I saw nothing that anyone in this league has to fear today. Maybe if they are all fit it could change, so I stand corrected if they finish any higher
  5. Come on....we were rubbish, they were better, we were lucky. Not interested in last season. They are an average side that will finish between 10th and 14th and with better management we would have won easily
  6. That was absolute dross again.... and even the "give Unsworth more time" brigade must be getting tired with the clear lack of intent he seems to instill in the side. I've been to all 3 away games this season and with Norwood, Nuttall, Fondop, Reid and Kurt we have scored 1 lucky 96th minute goal. Today bar the first 5 minutes the team looked like they had absolutely no belief they could win the game against a very average Boreham Wood side who were happy with a 0-0.. Players were in each others way, movement and communication in the final 3rd was non existent, and any sort of plan appart from boot it from the back in the hope it would drop to Norwood was missing. I'm not sure what Reid has done wrong to upset Rhino but fuck me we needed some pace and width, and Reid could have at least given us that. Sorry but Unsworth is never gonna convince me hes the right man for the job as he can't see what we see it appears. Boreham Wood should have beaten us today with the chances they had which is a disgrace. Nothing less than 3 points on Monday is acceptable and anyone who thinks anything different is clearly missing a screw.
  7. Genuine question - How do you think he will set up at Boreham Wood tomorrow? Do they have better players than us - No Are they a stronger squad than us - No Do they score loads of goals at home - No Do they concede a lot of goals at home - No Based on this would you expect him to set up to dominate possesion and the game tomorrow?? I'd bloody hope so as this is fucking Boreham Wood....with less than 1,000 home fans!!
  8. It's really hard for him.....as most on this board will know
  9. This is bang on point and a well balanced view I think most would put up with Unsworths tactics and back foot first football if we were winning more games but to date we are not. We have 5 fit strikers who most would perceive as all being pretty good at our level FFS so use them better. He's also beginning to sound like Klopp with his constant moaning in pressers and newspapers, about refs, too many games, etc which doesn't help with getting fans on board. Just get on with it and take more accountability. As LightDN eloquently states let's see where we are after 10 then 15 games, and take it from there.
  10. You think Green is fit enough to start? I reckon he's on the bench. Be mad to rush him back too soon unless he's 100% which he isn't. I'd give Kurt another start as we should have more of the ball than at Chesterfield and I'd like to see what he can do in the final 3rd rather than his own 3rd.
  11. Ok so we know what Rhino has been told. No excuses this season I guess.
  12. Are there many going on Saturday? Train strikes again unfortunately will be making it a bit of a slog to get there, plus I can't see it being a classic! Boreham Wood scored only 22 goals at home last season...only Yeovil scored fewer. They also had the 2nd lowest goals conceded record with only 19. Only Notts County let in fewer with 12. I'll be there for my sins but I recon it's got an attritional 1-1 written all over it. We live in hope....
  13. We'll never agree on this one I think so let's just see what happens! Hopefully we will be doing just fine after 13, 23 and 46 games My biggest criticism of Unsworth which may ultimately be our downfall, is that when I have watched us away from home in the NL, and I've seen about half our games, not in one can I remember us dominating and playing with any freedom. Even at Dorking last season they pretty much gave the goals to us on a plate and we're by far the better team 1H. We picked up only 22 points away from BP last season, scoring 26 goals (5 of which came at Dorking) and have 1 pt from 6 this year with 1 goal, so 23/75point from 25 games, with a total of 27 goals .....sounds fucking horrific doesn't it! If we repeat last seasons tally away we will need 53 ish points from our home games just to make the playoffs. For context Notts County got 56 home points last season losing 1 game! Let's be honest we have already lost to Halifax so it seems an unlikely scenario. He's just too defence first minded as an ex defender, and he won't change his spots. Let's see what we do at Boreham Wood Saturday. They are hardly gonna rip us apart as they scored only 22 home goals last year and won only 9 from 23 games, so no reason for us to sit back and soak up the pressure?....is there????
  14. It's not bad logic in general and if we make the play offs then happy days. I do think though that 75 points will be needed to get in, with no Wrexham and NC eating up 100 plus points each. The year before when Stockport won the league, Chesterfield were 7th on 74 which is more realistic. So if we get to 35 pts in 23 then repeat last season's form in the last 23 we probably squeeze in 30 pts won't cut it though as we'd need 45pts at least from 23 games which is a tall order. This is why we can't afford to let him plod on with his negative tactics and set up...ie in his post match interview I think he said we want clean sheets first, so it's not gonna change....after out investment. Hence we need to review at the end of September (13 games) and see if he's on track and steadied the ship. For me anything less than 20 points and the board need to act. September's fixtures look pretty easy on paper, so no excuses in my book for not getting 4/5 wins. If we get too far behind the pace, the pressure mounts on the players, manager, fans etc at home games which is not a good place to be in. I'll be at Boreham Wood on Saturday, and as our away form is absolutely woeful ( we have won 2 out of 10 since the end of Feb against relegated Scunny and Yeovil) I'm not expecting a front foot performance or 3 points. If we don't start winning more games away from home and showing more of a positive intent we can forget the playoffs. Rhino mentioned he doesn't want to get into basketball matches, which is part of the problem.... You can play on the front foot without leaving yourself over exposed defensively, which amazingly seems to be unfortunately something he can't grasp. Clocks ticking.....
  15. Let's not try and make excuses for the inexcusable....
  16. Monty hang your head in shame....watching Oldham supporters trade blows on the pitch and assault the oppo keeper is NOT great TV. It's fucking embarrassing for the club and the majority of fans, and will no doubt have serious repercussions.
  17. Let's be honest Unsworth got out of jail with a slightly dubious last minute equaliser in what was a turgid back foot performance from the off. If it had stayed at 1-0 I suspect not many of us would have complained and the atmosphere would have been absolutely toxic towards him at the end. The knobheads on the pitch have deflected from what was another example of the manager not going out to win an away game, not knowing how to influence a game with changes when things are not working, making tactical and personnel changes that actually made us worse and playing good players out of position in a formation that are not comfortable with. Yesterday has done nothing but enhance my view that he needs replacing with a more experienced forward thinking manager.
  18. Unfair on Kurt. Had no real attacking opportunity and has done his defensive duties well. Covers well for Kitch when he gets forward. Obviously been told how to play
  19. Been caught out of position once otherwise he's been OK. Also the more games he has the more matchfit he will be
  20. Love it that he's giving Kurt a chance.....just a bit puzzled by it as he's hardly played a minute this season. I'd have maybe chosen Reid but hey let see what happens
  21. Agree. 43 1-0 wins would suit me just fine!
