  1. Masses to thank Shez for over the years. If we had been relegated to L2 who knows where the club would be today and if we would even have a club! However after supporting for over 40 years, the past 20 or so have been pretty tedious so change was necessary just to break the monotony of it all. Fresh eyes and all that. Who knows where it will all lead but hey it's more interesting now than for a good while and Shez had reached his potential with us I think. With his recent record with us guaranteed hell pop up somewhere in January with a team in the bottom few of L1 or L2
  2. Ahh the days we mixed it up with big boys....never to be repeated I fear....ktf
  3. Well we are 2 wins out of 2 in it so I'd have no problem! Basically wear tangerine on a Tuesday night and we're invincible!!
  4. Play that midfield and Pererborough will score a bloody hatful!!
  5. No chance. Goalkeepers thrive on confidence...Ruddys is completely shot to pieces now. He will get worse before better mark my words. Need to at least try Placebo...nothing to lose
  6. Lots of very passionate stuff on here at the moment, some good some a load of bollocks. Went to the game yesterday with 6 Rotherham fans and they had an interesting take on what's wrong with our team which is probably as honest as it gets... In summary they thought "Goalkeepers a decent shot stopper but defence has no confidence at all that he will come and claim anything in the air. Unless we change this we're on a hiding every week" "Left back can't defend for toffee" "Midfield looked decent going forward but as soon as Gardner went off we lost our shape completely" "We have no bite or agression in midfield" "number 25 was the worst midfielder they have ever seen".... I did ask them if they'd ever seen Banks... "it looked like Oldham had no plan or tactics to counter Rotherhams play. We play the same way every week" This was the most telling comment for me. We pretty much know about the keeper etc but I completely agree that it appeared we had no idea how to stop Rotherham when they attacked. This is down to Sheridan and Wright, end of story. They decide on how and who plays. Not sure who said we should have been in front at half time. Bollocks. We did OK and missed a sitter but Rotherham were far more potent the whole game and should have won by more. Lastly they asked if they could play us every week and we should sack Sheridan tomorrow. Let's not let our hearts rule our heads. It's time to change things if we're to have any chance of staying up.
  7. Coming up from the smoke for this one. Should be a decent game and following. around 1000?
  8. Forte Baby 628 was the closest I think. Not a great following 602 in their position. Cheers everyone.
  9. Unbeaten, top of the league, should bring a decent following.... How many do you reckon??
  10. As good a signing as we could have hoped for at the moment...
  11. Something is not right at the club. Wouldn't surprise me if Shez is gone before next weekend. Players not arsed... Manager not arsed it seems unfortunately
  12. Cheers Derbyshirelatic...will get on the day from Walsall ?
  13. I'd start Duffus over Davies, quicker, fitter and hungrier.....
  14. Usually go to Walsall with my young lad and they used to do a family ticket bought on the day for an adult and junior for about £22. Does anyone know if they still do this as can't find any info on their website. Also how many do you recon we will take? Took a great following first away game a couple of years ago...
  15. Clive Allen in the 1988 FA cup tie on the old plastic. Scored a cracker of a goal and his touch and overall control of the ball were fantastic...to be fair Ozzy and Waddle were not far behind him that day....think we lost 4-2
  16. We only took 1500 to Bury!! ...anyhow let's all get to Bastard Rovers and have a party next season!
  17. That was a few years back...2k maximum nowadays I recon which is still good considering our home fan base
  18. Back to the thread.... One reason for this is our bigger fan base from our Prem days who now live away from Oldham. Many like myself go to more away games than home and this contributes hugely to our away following. My guess is even if we pulled in another 1000 home fans next season our away numbers wouldn't be influenced much.... Unless we were in the top 8 or so...
  19. Great thread and you can who is ruled by their hearts, and who by their heads!! Reality is we will be one of the bottom 6 clubs financially based on home support and backed by the owners so 17th is about our level. However maybe next season will be our time at last and with some luck along the way who knows....And as long as we beat the piemen and bastard rovers then I for one will be happy!!
  20. Good crack today. We got tickets for the home end but just went in through the away turnstiles.... No questions asked!
  21. Sorry rigsby....11 goals in 107 pro appearances (2 in 24 for us and both in a loss against Dale) is as woeful as it gets for a striker. Unfortunately he has not scored in any games we have got a point in!! Don't disagree he offers other things but without at least 8-10 goals a season I don't see how he can justify a regular starting spot as our focal striker. Agree with davidshaw 100%.
