To play this great brand of entertaining football everyone seems to want you need quality, creative players in midfield and out wide. We don't have an attacking right side - fact We don't have someone who can dictate a game in central midfield - fact Until we get players to fill these gaps our style of play will pretty much remain as it is. Unsworth is probably not the right manager to get us back into the EFL, but you can only work with what you have, and the impression some on here have that we have invested in loads of quality players is bollocks. Most are past their best, are solid not creative, and are good enough to keep us up which is now being shown in our results and performances. Ask yourself who in our squad would get into Wrexham's or Notts County's starting 11? None I'd hazard a guess.... Shows how far we have fallen and how far we have to go. Doesn't matter who is in charge. We have a solid mid table squad and nothing more. We will finish around 12th which is probably a place or two below where they should be, and Unsworth should take the flack for this. I'll be interested to see who we bring in in pre season and how much we do actually invest in genuine quality players.

Dear Frank. Thanks for investing your hard earned £12m into OAFC. Unfortunately until you can guarantee an attractive free flowing style of football you can do one, as I won't be a paying supporter, even though if everyone took this approach we wouldn't have a football club. I may return when you put a team on the park that plays like Man City, like one or two other plastic fans out there. Didn't you know football has nothing to do with loyalty... Sorry disagree. So you'd play him before Sheron, Shelton, Rooney? Behave. We are 5th bottom of the NL and you think he wouldn't get steam rolled if played anywher near the middle? Good luck to him but with the physicality of lower league football today he really has no chance size or strenth wise. We probably got a decent fee and sell on clause so IF he is this gem of a player as you say we should benefit big time when a moneybags Prem side signs him. I wouldnt spend it yet though.....

Maybe, maybe not Wardie. But the 3 biggest spenders Wrexham, Notts C, and Chesterfield have not been out of this League for a combined 26 (ish) seasons.... Think that demonstrates just how difficult it's going to be whoever the manager is to get back into the EFL. And how long did it take last season's biggest spenders Stockport to get promoted?? Just look at some of the many managers who failed at these clubs during that period. Appreciate all opinions around Unsworth and why we are not (and should be doing better). Just think we need to see what happens in the next few months before we roll the dice again...

Don't think any were Unsworth signings so what's your point? They are under contract so we are stuck with them or at least stuck with paying them off. Not sure what the best managers are supposed to do in that situation?? Look he's not done great and made many mistakes like any rookie manager would do. But let's judge his results from now on, as in his words he's now got a squad he can work with. In a neither in or out man at the moment. I'm reserving judgement until Easter when we should be relatively safe or shitting it

Look he is staying so no point keeping going on about getting rid of him! And about Saturday, in our position every point counts at the moment. What happens if he brings Timmy on and we concede late on? Another pissboil I imagine. Aldershot had won 3 drawn 1 in their last 4 games scoring 11 goals, so a point in my view was absolutely OK. I couldn't make it Saturday but by all accounts we did alright without being great, and we kept the unbeaten league run going which is important. Let's get plenty of points in the next 2 weeks, put some daylight between us and the bottom 4, then perhaps we can play with a bit more freedom. 4 uninspiring 1-0 wins in the next 2 weeks will do me just fine. It's then all about building for next season.

Get something at Aldershot Saturday to keep the League unbeaten run going, then we have 4 very winable home games on the bounce in 14 days. Things could look much more rosey by the middle of Feb....we could even be higher tyan 17th

I just checked and the last 2 years in the National League he has scored 29 goals at better than a goal every 2 games....I just don't get it

Don't even bring Shez into it....again! Not nonesense. 2 lucky 3 2 wins and performances no better than under Unsworth. He was finished and the right decision was made to call it a day. However DU appears not to be the right man and so it's probably time to reluctantly make the change. Let's not get sidetracked here. If he goes we need to get the right man in....not an easy thing to do in the current circumstances.....

He sounds like a talented boy....but we need 2 good centre mids... We have enough forwards and wide men now to compete with most, but we need to win the ball first....and not have a midfield as effective as a chocolate fireguard!

We now have plenty of forwards to chose from so hopefully yes!

I think its fair to say the players throughout Unsworths tenure havn't done their bit either, pretty much without exception. Agree 100% that we shouldn't be where we are, and probably should be 6 or 7 pts better off and on an upwards trajectory by now which we are not. However the players need to be just as accountable as the manager and coaching staff for some of the dire football churned out over October and November. Yes formation etc is debatable but lack of effort and desire on many occasions is not. I have a feeling we will do ok in the next 3 games as I was at both Maidstone and Solihull and there were signs of improvement, and on another day with a bit of luck would have won both and the mood very different. Confidence is lacking in abundance which you can't coach and a win or 2 would see a real positive bounce I hope. I'd be happy for him to stay IF he can start to get a tune out if what now is mainly his first 11. But it absolutely depends on the next few results I think as the stats don't lie, and EVERYONE within the club must be feeling under a huge amount of pressure at the moment. Another relegation is unthinkable...

It's a step in the right direction I think towards our survival in the NL and a Trophy cup run . We certainly need goals from somewhere at the moment. May be Ok with him and Timmy. At least we will have some pace....

Youth loans are by far the most difficult to judge. Some of these young kids look world-beaters in the U23 but just can't handle it when they step up to senior football. For example Carra and Timmy seem to find the step up quite easy, Wellens who I thought would be a star is miles off it. I guess my point is if we are not penalised for trying out and looking at these players for a few weeks, and their clubs are paying their wages then I can't see any issue. If we manage to keep 2 or 3 good uns in Jan to the end of the season and they improve is then great.

Genuine question BP1960 and sorry if I've missed something in past posts. Have you been employed in an official capacity as a scout in the football league previously? I guess clubs get loads of player recommendations and requests for trials? I think clubs will only listen to credible scouts who they have dealt with before, and know the lead would be good, otherwise they would be led down the garden path on most occasions I recon? If you have and have had some success then I'd be asking the question why they are ignoring you??
