  1. Give him half a dozen games, 3 mis-placed passes and he'll be a pile of S**** not fit to wear the shirt, never going to be anything, should be droppped asap.
  2. A few days ago I saw a comment that shez "must have" a £400k budget available to spend in the summer. But then I've had a look at some figures:- For league games we are currently 20,000 fans below last season after the same number of home games. I'd reckon we had more ST holders this season than last after making the play offs, so it's fairly safe to assess those 20,000 at £18 a piece. Totalling £360,000 in lost gate money. Add another 2500 fans to the list 'cos we got 13.5k between the last 2 games, and we'll be lucky to get 11k this year, so another £45k lost. Ok, we got the cup money - bugger all from crewe/donny games, maybe £250k from everton, maybe £70k from hudds. Last season we had Wolves in the cup and the play off games. Ultimately it leaves the Trotman money as plugging the hole in the gate receipts, and leaves nowt for a transfer kitty unless either TTA put their hands in their pockets or the fans take up season tickets without expecting huge discounts.
  3. Was that her with you on monday at donny? saw you walking across the front with a bird. Didn't have chance to say hello - too busy handing out my wallet to the kids for pies/hot dogs/coke whilst being pi**ed off at not being able to get a beer!
  4. Donny fans did the "loyal supporters" thing last monday - thought it was bizzarre, how does turning up for a home game on a bank holiday when you're thrid in the league illustrate loyalty? It's surely only to be used on mid-week long distance games?
  5. So, the rumours are: Hilstone r going bust TTA want out Huckerby to sign Shez on his way TTA to sell perm any 2 from 5? What a load of crap.
  6. Or possibly that an untrue statement was removed as potentially libellous? I don't think that everything hinges on hillstone, after all haven't ryder and dutton sold quite a few properties over the years, I think they may have a few contacts in the building trade. This is probably all speculation due to the current economic slow down in the housing market, but in relation to a 700 property development on owned land, it's nothing to worry about. The housing boom has led to builders making fortunes, but that in turn has led to plumbers, brickies and sparks being able to charge higher rates and to estate agents making fortunes too. Any downturn in the housing market, coupled with cheap labour from within the EU will minimise any loss of profit.
  7. You prepared to state this as a fact somewhere you could get sued? Or is it another rumour. Oh and nice start to your post: Well done hazell, stam, allott. Shez signed 2 of those and the third has been shaky this season imo. As for the limited contacts things, in addition to those stated, where did charlton and aljofree come from? was it wednesday or united? Tell you what, you list every single signing / loand and we'll have a look at the FACTS And the arrogance you see in his interviews - that's because that's how you want to see it, others might see it as a positive, other still as confidence - a nervy unsure manager isn't what I want to see. I see a "fan" who wants to see certain things to fulfill his pre-conceived opinion. I see a weak person who wants to be seen as strong and perceptive. I see fiction and the last resort of an outer - the wonderful "rumour". "I heard a rumour that shez has lost the dressing room, support of TTA, AH hates him and the ball boys all laugh at him behind his back" yeah yeah yeah, blah blah blah. You're a joke Ed, You name 3 players, of which shez signed 2 (TWO). Ridiculous that you don't give any credit at all for that, nor for his use of the youngsters - still that's all down to TP, nor do you accept that the injuries have severely affected our team this year. Given that there''s only been 2 games since your last rant, where would you have played livermore when thomson went off? and was his use vs donny a disaster? It's hardly worth the effort coming up with counter arguments to your posts, they lack any reasoned argument and are so self-contradictory it's almost like you want to be seen as a joke.
  8. I think it's more that they are Special Events Staff, who differ from normal events staff in that they are "special" in the modern sense of the word: Special Staff / Special Needs
  9. Hence my post referred to few people doing just that. You did qualify it and yet it's running for 7 pages and the OP Now seems to have "not" seen 2 fingers, but some people still use it as a shez out issue?
  10. Eh? That's lost me? Try it again, but this time let me know what you mean rather than making a private joke / reference thtat only you know the relevance of. You're not still upset over your MIS-Reading of my earlier comment are you?
  11. Your point about the relatively recent "success" of swansea and donny is undermined on 2 levels. 1. They have cash to spend with less risk than we have. Swansea get gate receipts that fund their spending - they didn;t gamble the money first though. Donny have a benevolent owner who is prepared to splash money around. Comparing us to either in terms of spending power is fruitless. 2. Any "lower" club that does well would be in a similar situation. When we made it into the top flight, was there any point in brum fans bemoaning our success in that way? Or more pertinently Burnley fans? We had made money from cup runs and invested wisely in better players and reaped the rewards. Further, your points about optomism are mis-placed. The happy clappers are not all optomists, just realists. Does everyone of them expect us to get promoted? No. But that's why they are happy clappers, beacuse they accept the realism of the situation we are in. They do not expect a win every single week and then moan if we don't win. They might however look at the broader level of progress we have seen under moore and shez - apart from 2 seasons of mad spending, we were a club in descent - gradually slipping lower and lower, but the last 3 years have seen 10th, 6th and possibly 11/12th?
  12. Not worth listening to as a witness are you? How do you mix up the Vs with a yakkity mouth? Unless you didn't really see what he did and just made it up?
  13. Jeez don't be so paranoid. I said somthing about the way the board runs not the way it is run. I.e the way posters follow each other down a path without qustioning the validity of what people are posting. And then it runs on for page after page.... And look what happened after your post? A load of replies telling you to ignore my "criticism" but none bothered to actually read what I had put. They just carried on, assuming that your Reading of it was the right one. Though shalt think for yourselves? A bit too hard for some on here perhaps?
  14. So what exactly did each of them say? From your post it doesn't seem like you heard either?
  15. hey here's a thought Kyle, you could admit that you were wrong? You could even apologise. You started off with a litany of abuse for the club over something that was if anything a positive move, or at worst a minor mistake. You were highly critical, insulting and to a degree nasty about this action. The scenario you decided on was also so contrived to make it look like a bad move it's farcical. You get a lot of people saying you're going off on one, and someone from the club explaining why they did this, but what do you do? Accept your error? Apologise? No, you just go, "Fair enough I appreciate you explaining why" and then try to start a criticism from another angle. Why don't you stop looking for faults in the club? I'd love to pop round to where you work and tell you everything you do wrong. ps. Shame you won't get to post "The club coach had empty seats, why didn't they put details on the website in case anyone decided to go at the last minute but didn't have transport - it's a disgrace" You can save that for another day.
  16. And therein lies the problem with some of the posters on here and the way this board runs. 5 pages of posts about "sheridan's 2 finger salute", with only a signle witness who saw a 2 finger salute. Very few qualified it with "if it's true", very few said "I'd be surprised that he'd do that after what happened with RM". But buried on page 4 are 4 other people who saw a gesture, but all 4 say it wasn't 2 fingers, it was a "yakkity yak" hand gesture. Still, enough people have used guernica's post to call for shez to be sacked. Pehaps they'd all like to re-post withdrawing their comments in light of 4 people saying that it's all been made up, given that 4 vs 1 suggest that it wasn't the "v's"?? Perhaps people also need to consider that some people see what they want to see, not what actually happens?
  17. real

    A Poll

Nah, for me it's the "I'm not renewing" What's the point of telling everyone else? Do they want people to join in, thus plunging the club into further troubles? Or do that want people to pat them on the back "good choice"????
  18. I've heard that the club plans to issue "Season tickets" to fans, which are restricted to 1 stand. Well, I want to know what happens if the club sells all but 1 seat for a stand and then a Dad and Son come along and can't both get a ticket for that stand. One very upset kiddy. What a disgrace this club is, an utter shambles, if only I was in charge, it would be much better run!! Sick to death of it!!!
  19. Tried to vote YES but it keeps coming back with an error. Anyway, what's being a supporter about when your club is 11th in the league? A shade over £14 for the Lookers upper (or wherever we end up) and just over £2 for kids. Great value to show that you are a real supporter. I've no problems with those that really can't afford it, I couldn't on £59 a week, but those that choose to do something else with their money are not in the same league. Shez, Moore, Talbot, Royle whoever, If I can afford it, I'm having it.
  20. It's a pity smalley wasn't played as a winger for 90 mins.
  21. So, you've a source for this discontent? Or is it just another load of made up twaddle. It's so easy to make a case for sacking a manager - criticise his media style - spins and lies OR never knows when to say nowt, then there's the dressing room - he's lost it - comes out every time that one. Then there's the tactics - "no plan B" has become a mantra. Oh and he doesn't praise the players enough, but he's also too matey with them and they need a rocket up them. Oh and his transfers are rubbish - look at x and x and x (ignoring y and y and y or course). Nah, it's time to sack <insert name of manager> before he takes us down with him. Fell free to copy and paste for 2010/11/12/13 they'll all still work
  22. Or a manager: Who doesn't let players carried away celebrating a win before the end of the game - haven't we lost a few in the dying minutes? Who sets out a game plan, within the limitations of the injuries at the club Who - see above Who has a restricted budget, yet has attempted to sign a number of players. Who is honest and straightforward, never resorting to spin or hiding away behind "no comment". Who develops players attributes by stretching them. You see anyone can make up a meaningless list of attributes or denigrations. Personally I think we should appoint managers for a maximum of 3 months, then have a poll on here to extend it. And we should have a no swearing, quietly spoken policy, after all nobody gets carried away or excited on a football pitch, it's unneccessary.
  23. Just had a look at their offer - £150 if bought before 31/07/08, £300 after that. But if they sell 9000 adult tickets they'll give everyone an extra ticket free. If they do sell 9000 that'll be the extent of their revenue 9000 x £150 = £1,350,000, add in maybe 1000 kids at £75 (under 11s free with an adult) ends up around £1,425,000 What do we get in total from gate receipts? Average gate at the moment is around 5300. 3000 adult STs at £330 = £990,000 1000 kids STs at £50 = £50,000 1300 pay in advance per game (assume all in lookers lower) at £14 x 23 games = £418,600 Gives us about the same as Bradford off lower gates. So is it worth the club taking the risk? What if they end up with 6000 at £150 and 1000 kids at £50. Total ST sales would be £90k lower than now and there would be fewer people paying per game, losing about £18k per game. They'd have to offer a decent discount to attract the stay aways, but then again to do that they'd need a decent take up. £250? You'd need about 5500 ST holders? Maybe they should offer £250 if we get 6000, but to be honest I reckon it would fall flat on it's face and some people would moan that they ended up paying £330 and it's all the clubs fault as they "knew it would fail". An alternative might be to offer free cup game tickets if we exceed a certain level of sales - e.g if we sell 4000 it will include JPT round 1, or Carling Cup round 1, 4500 will include a 2nd cup home game. It could go awry if we don't get drawn at home though, and the club would have to make up the gate money to the other club. Hardly likely to tempt the stay aways though?
