  1. IIrc the stabbing was due to Mrs Morley catching him in bed with "another PERSON". (and another rumour was that Kendall got rid of Morley and Bishop from City due to an incident) It prompted a good few songs: "One Mrs Morley, there's only one Mrs Morley" and "Thank you very much for stabbing Morley, thank you very much, thank you very very very much"
  2. Do I have to support Colchester then just because my Dad was there with the Army? Good job my mum (+ Dad) got back from Germany sharpish or I'd have a terrible journey to "home" games?
  3. For me aways are either: a trip out with the boys - beer & footy a quick(ish) away night out (mid-weeks)- usually drive, so less beer or a days out with the kids. So for all three it's usually a 50-100 mile maximum. And cost means it's only 3-4 or so a season. But I will be at Bristol as I'm going to be there for a few days. Kids are off school and they will be going too. Hoping to do Donny with the kids and Crewe with the boys, maybe Vale too but there's a lot of home games around that one, so it might not happen.
  4. So the thread turns - it's nothing to do with the way we play - would people who saw us vs carlise have thrown in the towel after it? No. It's about a lot of distance aways and swansea's form, nothing else. Yes people would have gone to chelsea, it would have been a big occaision, but the same people might just go to a differen away that they might not have done, but it'll be split across 5 games, rather than pushed into 1. And the missing 1500 wouldn't have gone to any game other than everton and chelse.
  5. £300k from the everton game? 25,000 adults at £18 and 8000 kids at £9 gives just over £500k. Take off vat and expenses and we would end up with about £200k at best. same for hudds, 10,000 at £18 and 2500 at £3, less vat and costs leaving £75k for us. £400k down to £275k?
  6. Hughes suspended, and still we have 9 shots on target. Great save from their keeper from smalley's header, quite a few near misses etc. Some people seem to think that if we lose we must find someone or something to condemn. One bit of bad defending lost us the game, apart from that we played pretty well. Concentrate on the league.
  7. You used to come out with this doom and gloom when we lost a game, now it's 2 successive away draws driving you to it.
  8. shocker? he got into goal scoring positions on numerous occaisions. ok, he missed, but at least he was where he should be. needs to work on variety of shot from the sound of it, but hardly a shocker. 2 away draws and people are moaning. brilliant.
  9. And we've played more aways than homes, we'll have 11 home games left and 9 aways after tonight. The way we've been picking up away points and dropping home ones suggests that makes it bleaker !!
  10. As we've played half the top 8 both home and away, and of the other 4 we've played 3 of them away and 1 at home, we've clearly played a dis-proportionate number of top 8 clubs, with 12 games played, compared to the 7 games we've had against bottom 8 clubs. We've 21 games still to play, the play offs aren't out of the question, but we need to start moving before the end of Feb to have any real chance.
  11. I usually see Bristol Rovers a couple of times a season, got a mate down there. Been to 2 games at Barca whilst on trips too.
  12. That's the spirit, when a radio station starts to cover Latics, we'll all shun them for not doing it sooner!
  13. ah, that explains it - I hear coogan on the way to work, and beckett on the way home.
  14. Erm, they have presenters on all day/night. Are you thinking of Oldham Community Radio? Martin Coogan does the breakfast show, Mani does a show, Mike Joyce etc etc.... link: http://www.revolutiononline.co.uk/presenters.htm and here's the playlist: ACRYLIC (NEW SINGLE) THE COURTEENERS, YOU'RE NOT ALONE THE ENEMY, 1234 FEIST, TICK TICK BOOM THE HIVES, LORD DON'T SLOW ME DOWN OASIS VALERIE MARK RONSON/AMY WINEHOUSE, IT MEANS NOTHING STEREOPHONICS, YOU DONT KNOW WHAT LOVE IS THE WHITE STRIPES, THE RACING RATS EDITORS, THE PRETENDER FOO FIGHTERS, EXTREME WAYS (BOURNE ULTIMATUM) MOBY, I FOUND OUT THE PIGEON DETECTIVES, OPEN YOUR WINDOW REVEREND & THE MAKERS, PUSH THE GHOSTS THE TWANG, SISTER SIAM THE WHIP, JUST GOT TO BE THE BLACK KEYS, BE MINE EVERYONE SAM CHAMPION, BOOKSHOP CASSANOVA THE CLIENTELE, MAKE A CHOICE DYLAN DONKIN, RHINEMAIDENS THE ENVY CORPS, DECIMATE DAVID FORD, A - Z GABRIELLE'S WISH SOMEONE GREAT LCD SOUNDSYSTEM, TO THE SKY MAPS, WAS YOUNG ONCE JOEY NIGHTMARE, DYING IS FINE RA RA RIOT, DELIVERY BABYSHAMBLES LAZER BEAMS FOR EYES BEATS FOR BEGINNERS, NO CONVERSATION BOY KILL BOY, INSPIRED BY THE BRIGHTLIGHTS, 61 THE KISSAWAY TRAIL GOTTA KEEP WALKING WILLY MASON, STANDING ON A CORNER JIM NOIR, THE FAST LANE THE PONY COLLABORATION, LAST ONE STANDING RAMBO AND LEROY DROP THE PHONE SHY CHILD, ONE EYED MANIAC VINNY VINNY, TERRA FIRMA YOUNG KNIVES
  15. ...according to the Bison, the revolution, 96.2 FM will be covering latics matches - not sure if they'll have commentary or just occaisional reports, but anyone who's not got Latics World should give it a listen - if they get the listeners, presumably they'll carry on with it? and maybe upgrade to commentary?
  16. Richards has another 2 years left on contract after the end of this season. As city have offererd £50k pw (apparently), I'd guess he's currently on less than £30k. He'd lose £2.5m over the lenght of his contract by staying where he is, by refusing to sign a £50k deal, and if he could get £75k from somewhere else, he'd lose nearly £6m in total by not moving. Equally, to city, if they could get £16m for him, of which we'd get £3.2m, rather then paying him £75k a week, the next 2.5 years would save/gain them £22.5m. That would allow them to bring in a free transfer or two and pay them £173k per week between them over the same period! It makes sense for city to sell him then!!
  17. When the Lookers is shut, without any of the RRE, there would only be 6000 places for home fans, so the small section of 1600 is almost certainly going to be allocated to home fans. It's even likely that the RRE would be switched depending on games with either section being used as the home part. Perhaps now is the time for the vocal supporters to suggest that the RRE is the place for the signers to gather? Maybe ask the cub to support this approach?
  18. One of my kids has just told me that she mis-heard "Que sera, sera....." She though it was "Kiss your arse, your arse........"

I think someone's recently added or done something to the thread - It wasn't an old thread when I posted, although I didn't notice the last date, it was up near the top of the board!

8 goals in 16 starts at southend, 3 in 5 for us. Hardly a poor goal ratio?
  21. But you have to question whether some people don't buy away shirts in particular as they know it will only really last 1 season. And in some cases even home kits have changed after 1 year due to sponsors / kit suppliers. I do wonder if the club deliberately set contracts / sponsor deals to clash with each other and with kit changes. 3 yr deal on sponsor and a staggered 3 yr deal on supplier means that changes happen more often Yr 1 - New shirt, last "old supplier" year, 2nd Sponsor year Yr 2 - Oops - new kit supplier, 3rd sponsor year Yr3 - Oops - New sponsor. Yr 4 - same kit. Yr 5 - New kit, New supplier, last sponsor year. Yr 6 - New sponsor, same kit Yr 7 - New shirt design, same sponsor, 3 rd supplier year Yr 8 - New supplier Yr 9 - New sponsor, same kit Yr 10 - New shirt deisgn, same sponsor Yr 11 - new supplier and on and on...................... If they just had a new home kit every 2 years, a new main away kit every 2 years, and a 3rd choice away kit every 4 years, they might actually sell more shirts overall. 4 yr supplier deal, 4 year sponsorship deal. Surely this would be better for sponsors too as it gives more chance of their name becoming associated with the club?
  22. It's 45% of the net receipts, after VAT and expenses. FA rule: "(iii) In matches played in the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Rounds of the Competition Proper, the net gate receipts of each match shall be divided as follows: 45% to each Club competing in the match. 10% to the Pool." The club can't do a discount for attending the FA cup game if people attend the brighton game, as it would breach the rules, they could agree with hudds on a discount, but they didn't for crewe or donny so I doubt it will happen this time. I'm quite happy to pay the full whack for me and my 2 kids, just as I did for crewe and donny. I'd like us to have part of the RRE though as I'd prefer the view in there to the chaddy.
  23. I'd hate to see us have Kenny Lunt at BP, his name just suggests that his parents hated him.
  24. or.... T-h-e Dutch, It's just like watching the Dutch It's just like watching the Dutch It's just like watching the Dutch.....
  25. Could hear "Come on Oldham" as well. Given that there were 32 games, to get the best part of 10 mins ain't bad really.
