  1. So you want a laughing stock who doesn't learn from his mistakes and won't be told any different as a manager? And runs the team on the back of a fag packet? Drops the same clanger every transfer window? Unlike you I can READ your posts and make points about them, rather than reverting to "get real". So come on, you say BT would've been out and so would RM but can you show me where the parallels are? RM was in roughly the same position, and ended up on his way, BT was in a far worse position before he finally went. How does your "opinion" hold up on that point then? hmmm? hmmm? Perhaps you could say "get real" or call me a "joker", 'cos that's really cutting it. Hey and he's just lucky that the kids have done ok? Nowt to do with his knowledge from coaching them? Ooh now who was coaching the kids 24 months ago? JS! Oh and he's been slagging them off hasn't he? But my quote doesn't say that, but you don't take that up either? YOU need to get REAL. Like using REAL facts, REAL quotes, REAL points. Not the made up unsubstantiated "things I've heard2 pile of drivel you've come out with. Every signing was a bad one - except the good ones, 'cos they were easy or set up for him eh? What a load of codswallop. Still, you're backing him as manager aren't you. Are you? Aren't you?
  2. It's on Icestationzebra, but then again it's also on the trannies rivals board. Funny that. Reminds me of a tin of spiced pork and ham.
  3. Me too! I buy a season ticket to watch latics, not just to watch wins.
  4. OP, that's the biggest pile of rubbish I've ever heard. BT or RM would have been out? Erm BT had us in the bottom 4 at this stage of the season, RM took over and kept us there until the last game. RM's first full season ended in a far damper squib than this one has even done so far. JS's first season saw us hit the play offs, via top place in Feb. So that's that one put to bed. Transfers- Who did BT bring in? Jack, Arber etc? Erm, bit shaky. RM brought in Liddell, Wellens and Porter but also Butcher, Forbes and Branston. I don't think either can be held up as shining examples compared to Shez. So, you think he should have brought more players in. But then you also criticise his approach to the kids - well if he'd brought more in, they wouldn't have got their chance, and for me smalley and allessandra have shown plenty of ability and promise. And what does "we needed other people to help out the younger lads" mean? Is that a criticism of the kids? "This is not a shez out thread" "He's a laughing stock" - What you really mean is that you haven't the guts to say "shez out", because no way can you call someone a laughing stock and still respect them. ps You're a laughing stock.
  5. Donny lose 2 players to the welsh squad - hopefully it's gonna affect them more than us.
  6. I always prefer to watch the game from the side, so it's main stand for me, but need to be able to get boundary blues in there too - if it's got to be behind the goal it would be the RRE, much better view and facilities than the chaddy. If they need to switch the small / large section, they could allocate seats in the small section and note an equivalent seat number in the large section perhaps?
  7. You mean you couldn't go thro the "lower" section room? They have to keep them to upper or lower due to ground health and safety regs to control numbers. Ridiculous, but not down to latics. They've let me through a few times when going to see my kids in the boundary blues though, but I've never been bothered when they've asked me to walk up and round. Hardly a marathon.
  8. I'd reckon it was left to crossley to decide whther to come off or not - he's in the best position to judge how much the injury affected him and how good bell would have been as a replacement. Quite a few near me were suggesting that crossley had signalled to come off and criticising shez for keeping him on, but for all they (or I) knew he may have been signalling the opposite
  9. Claiming it had already crossed the line perhaps?
  10. What do you mean by "twisting" - that's a bit offensive. cheers? No one has affected anyone's freedom of speech, but we don't all have to be pally friends. Besides, when terry made his "I belive in debate unlike some others on here", wasn't he have a pop at people? And no-one had had a pop at him at that point. A bit like making a false accusation? And all this "verbally attacked" stuff - jesus you'd think people had been launching all sorts of names and insults at the poor sod. It's getting pathetic. So shez calls a player a rude name - I call my mates all sorts of things when we're talking - I know them well enough that they can take it - perhaps shez knows the players just a little bit better than terry?
  11. But it's his opinion (and mine too) that people should be able to denigrate what they see as an ill-formed opinion. Good grief, it'll end up like some sort of debating chamber where people are afraid to say what they think soon. Perhaps we should start every post with "With respect, and without wishing to suggest that you are wrong, I think you are incorrect in what you say, however I do not wish to give the view that I disagree with you"???? Terry started on about people who disagreed with him not liking him having a different opinion. Surely he was the one doing that when people disagreed? FWIW I think he's set off to wind people up with a pointed subject title. He's achieved it and then complained about it. Sometimes you reap what you sow. Anyway, they are football players, not some middle management office staff. They can take it. And this whole subject was done to death when Billy Urmson was coach, even though numerous players stated how much respect thay had for him.
  12. Seems like you're trying to make out people are "bullying" you by being a willing victim, bringing up "some people don't like others having opinions" before anyone has really done anything to have a go at you, and the claim that some people have "shouted" at you, how does that work? And if it's ok for you to put your posts out in a somewhat haughty manner (which looks a lot like a wind up) then it's also ok for people to respond to you in a robust manner, after it's "just the way they talk". Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion, but it's not a worthwhile opinion as it's based on your limited knowledge of the dressing room and the players. Also, what you are forgetting is that whilst words of praise and encouragement work well in calm situation, they don't have much impact in a charged, high emotion situation. Also, when a player has scored, he doesn't need to be given a pat on the back, he needs to get back on with his job. Hence a strong word or two. You even claim that Shez only shook Lewis's hand because the fans told him to?? What planet are you on. You've posted a load of rubbish that makes no sense and includes conclusions that you assert that are based only on your opinions, not on facts. You've excluded Clough by claiming that he knew when to praise and when to shout, but can you give us any examples of when this occurred? Or have you just made it up to suit yourself? I think shez knew when to praise and when to shout - the result certainly suggests so? Now, stop being a moaner, looking for faults after a 3-1 win makes you look small minded and rather pathetic.
  13. Personally I see it as more like being a parent - some parents just turn up for the school play or the awards ceremony, and don't bother with the day in day out stuff. Everton away in the cup but not Crewe or Donny at home, Huddersfield in the cup but not Brighton or Carlisle in the league. As regards the season, is it really the worst since 68/69, given that in the last 5 years we've had to escape relegation on the last day and we're currently 11th? Or is it just that after last season we all had raised expectations, leading to dissappointment at the lack of any progression?
  14. We're not playing 4-4-2, it's 4-3/1-2 4 at the back, 3 central mids, 1 winger and 2 up front. The big problem with Eards is his distribution - mainly 'cos he has no option in front of him and has to choose between the long cross and running the wing to leave the defence exposed. Our biggest attacking threat tonight came from lomax as he could (and would) run the wing and leave taylor behind him.
  15. I didn't go. But you had already made your mind up so what does that matter?
  16. I think you'll find that the quote was "I said on the way down...." so you can scratch todays game from the assesment. Just his sub appearance on Tuesday, after travelling up on the day, and playing as a sub with a team he didn't know is enough to assess and subsequently dismiss a player. OP should be the next England manager. You can lead a plank to water and you'll end up with a damp, rotten plank.
  17. Realistically though, it's not tranmere we'll have to get past. Leeds and Southend both also have a game in hand on tranmere and are level on games with us. I'd also watch out for the teams below us who have games in hand - anyone as Bristol Rovers could catch us and the other play off hopefuls, and possbily hudds too with their game in hand?
  18. So what happens if you go to the first 10 games then think "sod it" - "If you couldn't attend matches for any reason it wouldn't matter as your personal balance along with the clubs interest would just increase." So you get the first 10 games at £10.65 then what happens to the money left over? Can you get it back? Or what if you then stop your payments? and would there be enough in your account to cover games early in the season? 30/06/08 £30, then end July, Aug, Sept, Oct, Total £150 We'd played 16 league games before the End of November, that could push you close to being "overdrawn" if we get a slightly different set of fixtures. And given that it gives a potential opt-out, and costs only £30 more than a ST, what if some ST holders just switched to this method and then gave up halfway through the season? You'd really have to start it at the end of May, and have it fully paid up by the end of March, and you'd have to pay a bit more on top than the STs do, so say £385 total paid over 11 months from 31/05 to end of March, £35 a time. But, you might as well just get the money out on a credit card at 15% interest and pay it off that way £295 drawn out, use £35 cash from end of May, pay for ST. Pay off £35 each month. Paid off by January !! Even at 20% interest it would only have about £5 outstanding in Feb. It's cheaper and easier to just get the cash by whatever method and pay it off month to month.
  19. what sort of pick up time do you reckon then?
  20. What time would you be setting off? and would you be doing any pick-ups en-route? Quite fancy doing Vale, was looking at the train...but....
  21. I'll be in an exec box on the half way line with my 2 kids and my gas head mate and his kid
  22. Didn't Moore leave the NHS software area when Torex merged with iSoft (who are connected to Barnsley)? afaik he de-merged the retail arm and went with that and ended up with SFO and plods raiding his offices due to accounting irregularities?
  23. How much money do people really think a screen would bring in? Do many clubs at this level have them? 'cos I've not seen one yet at this level (might have forgotten though?) Hudds? Vale? Scunny? Brizzle (either)? Crewe? who has got one? It was going to cost £30k to put the 2nd hand one up, maybe another £10k min for the screen itself? So £40k outlay? Plus running cost - electric + an operator I bet we struggle to sell all the hoardings around the ground, let alone getting another £10k a year from a screen that's mainly showing match highlights? And that would need 4 years of trouble free running before the club broke even. Would you spend £50 on a 30 second message for a mates birthday? I'm totally unconvinced that a screen would "pay for itself"
  24. I think Moore was trying to be flash, but when he came in, he had a fair wedge behind him, but it was all tied up in Torex. At the time he came in it was the dot.com boom, and he was reckoned to be worth £200m. I'd guess he thought he could look flash, perhaps intending to spend £20m of his money on a plaything. However once those 2 planes hit NYC, the dot.com boom blew apart, and his Torex shares dropped to 25% of their value. His £200m became £50m Spending £20m out of £50m is a lot different than spending £20m out of £200m. It ended with him losing about £6m through latics - mainly signing fees and wages I'd guess. TTA might well be worth less than Moore was, but their assets are more solid, and having no "flash amounts" of money to spend means they have to be prudent, which is better for the club in many ways.
  25. I paid £25 for a ticket to that game - I was away from oldham at the time and turned up on the morning of the game with no ticket. And it was for the Rocky Rd end with the Wednesday fans! I think at least one of the sections ended up being mainly latics.
