mikejh45
He is a joke 4 of the worst corners I have ever seen No different to Liddell, Taylor and Whittaker then!!! So why single out Maher when he's hardly had any playing time since he arrived?
bluehobbit
He is a joke 4 of the worst corners I have ever seen Happens all the time it just wasnt our day. HE actually did quiet well with eveything else when he came on and i wouldnt have minded seeing him on the pitch at the end of the 1st half for whittaker just to try and shake things up - to be honest taylor and liddell are usually a bit naff from corners so u cant single maher out

ritchie82
Another moron picking out a player who really can't be blamed for Saturdays farce. I liked what I saw of him on Saturday and would want to see him have a run in the team. Shame Shez was so slow working out that their system killed us that he only got a short stint. paulgard
He is a joke 4 of the worst corners I have ever seen why not come on here and say something constructive instead of just slagging players off, what good does it really achieve. RoytonBlueLad
Just needs a run of games. Came in late in pre season. Not had regular reserve football either. Sure he could be a decent asset to us.
MaskedOwl
He didnt beat the first man with his corners. I could certainly have done better. I dont know how you can say you liked what you saw of him cos he didnt do anythin. Id give the guy a chance from the start of the game. Don't think he is they type of player that could have changed the game.

Stitch_KTF
Oh god here we go again......."the corner was so bad it didnt even beat the first man, bleat bleat". Do people not realise how fine the line is between a dangerous corner and one that ''doesnt beat the first man'? Clearly not. It is frustrating yes, but believe me it is a fine line. MaskedOwl
Its more than frustrating. Short corners that don't work and ones that don't get put into the box. Are they nervous when taking corners or something?

BigfinLatic
I posted this in anger which is something you shouldnt do. I do apologise for a pretty pointless post How are you still angry 3 days after a game.... honestly, as a latics fan you should be in a state of blissful ignorance and acceptance by this point... we are eternally inconsitent and dissapointing, no need to get angry

outoftheblue
That was your opinion Ryan, and you should stick by it. The usual people here will rip you apart and defend every mistake a Latics player makes whilst he wears a blue shirt despite the fact that you are merely giving your opinion on their performance. Maher's corners were indeed poor efforts from any decent level of player. Quite often the corner that just reaches the first man can be the most effective as the flick on can deceive even the best defence, but the corners you were referring to were all delivered/received at waist height, and nigh on impossible to work with. However, I wouldn't agree he was a joke, as the rest of Maher's game looked fine to me and I'd be happy to see him start ahead of Mark Allott at the moment. BTW, your dad texted me to say he was on his 5th pint of Guinness by the final whistle - I think Daniel Jones was on his 5th pint too. Takemeanywhere
I think on Saturday that Maher was called across by Tommy Wright and told to "Go on and replace Eardley". He just took it too literally
