Thats because the majority of the idiots in there are now in the RRE.

 

Didn't think Ricketts was anything great, a couple of decent passes but he was left unmarked a few times because he spent half the game stood on the half way line..... midfielders had the midfield to mark, the CB don't want to be moving that far up to pick him up.

 

Had to laugh (and agree) at a few of their fans afterwards .... we'll never do anything with that lazy donkey Ricketts up front.

P.S Sounded to me that our happy drummer was banging along to die die Ricketts. Seriously, does the club really want to continue to allow him to bring the drum as a method of trying to encourage singer when he does things like that. Disgusting ..... final straw for me !!!

 

Ricketts was nothing great and you wouldn't want him at Latics?

 

Who are you kidding? Attitudes aside Ricketts up front with Hughes, both playing how they did last night would be a great partnership. Ricketts was a constant threat, even when Walsall faded out of the game there was always a chance of Ricketts doing something. Whereas Byfield did precisely f**k all last night, there is no other way to describe it he gave the ball away at every opportunity and didn't win a header all night. Why he was left on for so long I will never know. It was a breath of fresh air when O'Grady came on.

 

I don't want him back nor am I Ricketts number 1 fan but it sad to see people talk absolute bollocks about a player because they hold a grudge against him for whatever reason.

Byfield didn't have the greatest of first home games and we did feel he may get a little critism from the 'homers', but his certainly showed his stuff at Northampton / Southend. Seemed a little nervous making his home debut last night.

Right, I've only skim read this topic, so please don't shout if what I say has already been said!

 

Firstly, best player on the pitch?! You are kidding?! Taylor was a class apart, Jones was getting some great crosses in, Hughes got 2, and could have had a third but for an inch or two, I'd also say their keeper was pretty good!

 

Secondly, I can't stand the guy. I really can't. But singing 'Die' at anyone is too far, be it Ricketts or Barton, Hughes or McCormick. That was a bloody embarrassment.

 

Thirdly, I beg to differ with those saying that Greegs was c**p. He was almost back to his usual self, with the 'swagger' and everything, bar that 5 minutes.

 

Finally, I can't believe that he got away with his tactic at EVERY SINGLE CORNER (in the 2nd half, at least!), where he boxed Temple in, stopping him from coming! That was unsporting play at least, in my book.

 

Still, chin up guys, we're 4th!!!

Would make a great porn forum this at times with all the bollocks banded about ..Ricketts did look ok last night but ffs any big doghnut would look good given the respect (undeserved!) and time that we afforded him last night.....saying that, i have no doubt that when he does play back here - as proved the last 2 visits, he puts that bit "extra" in.

As for Byfield, as Mark has said,he has already looked more than useful and although he got cock all in the 2nd half yesterday, i thought some of his movement and hold up play looked ok in the 1st half - a totally different player to either Lily Savage or Lewis and would be v unfair to compare them -though out of the 3, i would say he is likely to cause more problems, given a few more games.
