I think Hereford now deserves its place in that gruesome list of slappings we've had during the time I've been watching us anyway.

thanks mate for reminding me,and other of our terrible times!!!

actually, ignoring the cup games, this really is our worse tonking since way before all those games above.

the teams there were,if my head serves right, actually above us or not that far us,in the leaguse,at the time of result.

hereford are proberbly the lowest placed team(below us anyway),at the time of the game,to give us that biggest battering for 30+ years...

My point exactly.

Put it into perspective. We got hammered today, but we start the next match at 0-0. Some people start each day 6-0 down.

Wasn't meant to be funny.

well your point suggested we needed a chat with the samaritans...

my original point was asking a valid question about the last time we got a tonking from a much lower positioned team?

a bit sensationalist eh?

real world please.

No. My point suggested that some people should use perspective.

Real world indeed.

ok..have you entered your advert to the samaritans above to the right thread then...?

cause ,if im thinking not.

unless,if i phone the samaritans,as you suggest, they might be able to answer my query about the question i originally asked?..re:latics/tonking/ever/etc.

but i won't...they have far more important issues to attend to.

very valuable ones too.

and chelsea at home 87, 5-1 after we took the lead, they won the league...

and the spurs game (5-0) 3-0 down after 8 mins, paul gerrrard 3 mistakes..good times

god its depressing

but on the brightside, ive seen us hammer teams by a big score more than weve took one

first ever away game, bramall lane 5-0 win in 86/87? tommy wright (2) mike flynn, frankie bunn, og?

Tranmere have done us twice IIRC. Once in 92/93 (FA Cup) and once in 93/94 (League Cup). Think both scores were 0-3.

And Chelsea turned us over at home 1-4 in 1988/89. So yeah, only the 3 goal deficit again.

I was just listing scores where the deficit was 4 goals or more.

I really believe that we need to get the services of a sports psycologist before the fans do.I cant accept that the same basic squad of playeres who play so well gainst the likes of Leeds,Leicester, etc can commit soccer suicide against lower placed teams on such a regular basis. This is costing us not only autos but maybe even the play offs if it continues. We need someone to instill both individual and collective team wellbeing and confidence.

I just phoned them up. The nice lady on the other end of the phone convinced me that yesterday was actually a good result, considering that two of the teams around us also got beat. It turned out that she was actually a Hereford fan. In the end, it was me talking her down.

Ha ha yeah i remember that chant. Luckily it was just up the road from me. It was my first Latics game of the season and it was so nice to be back and 2-0 down in 5 mins. I always felt assured knowing that despite other things in life changing, Latics could always be called upon to show that maybe things werent that bad at all.

By the way i think the 4-1 spankings at home by Peterborough and Gillingham deserve their place as well.

And it will always thank Bristol City for the 5-1 defeat which finally got rid of Talbot.
