I'm glad that the smaller teams are getting more of a chance this season but I get the feeling I am being cheated...

Ferrari and Mclaren were the two best teams in F1 for the past three/four years, possibly longer.

All of a sudden, because of rule changes, a n00b team comes along and gets pole position. Giving Brawn their due, they have come out with a very good car, but its the same as saying. "Right, it's the end of the season now and we know Cheltenham finished bottom, but we're going to promote them and relegate Leicester"

Changing the rules should change the sport like it has...

Personally, I dont like Ecclestone, some of his ideas are... far fetched and crazy, working to ruin the sport. I do think some of the rule changes, the rev limiters and limits to the designs are forcing teams to be clever and are attracting more fans to the sport, which is obviously good. But you can tinker too much...

I got up just in time to see Button take the flag. After the off season they've had even LL couldn't begrudge them that success. People who know a lot more than me think they can continue it. Personally I don't see it. If Hamilton can come from 18th to 4th (3rd if they make the call on the saftey car in his favour) then once they put him in an F1 car as opposed to the Nissan Micra he's had this weekend then I don't see who can stop him.

Ferrari ballsed it up which is always nice to see too!

We talked about this yesterday, I like my Banger/Stox/Brisca racing on the UK ovals scene - I like the dirty aspect to it - the drivers beating out panels, andtrying to sort out that dodgy transmission before the next heat. I also try and watch Speedway on the telly whenever I can, but Formula One is about as interesting as watching wood rot.

Great result for Jenson and BrawnF1, so glad Jenson kept with it. I know F1 isn't everyone's cup of tea, but having travelled to almost a dozen races now I just can't get enough of it. I know what you are saying about the fun and rawness of Speedway/Banger/Stox etc but F1 is 'meant' to be different. It is tactical and relies on clever technology... dull it isn't! The noise, the smell, the atmosphere, you can't beta it.

Is anyone on here going to Silverstone for the last time, I am still wanting to go but don't won't have the car. I would be interested to know if anyone is going and via what method.

Always much prefered rallying (circuit racing is too easy/simple) but I have a passing interest in F1 and so happily went to Silverstone on a fancy Jordan corporate day. It was only testing but that didn't matter one bit, every team and everybody was there.....just hardly any crowd! :) We had access down the pit lane, into the Jordan garages whilst they were working, into the 'VIP' area, the lot. Now that was a day out. Highlights were generally the drivers girlfriends, and the wannabe drivers girlfriends.

I love Grand Prix, but hated the last few years with that highly irritating British kid getting all the press. Im happy as long as he fails this year.

Button, Kubica, Vettel, Raikonnen & Rosberg and the guys I want to succeed, all with great genuine talent

You lucky lucky guy. Got any free memento's you want to pass on?? ;)

Malaysia 2 years ago was my favourite trip... a tad hot, but it meant the ladies dressed down too. KL is a great city, got to see quite a bit even though it was a whistle stop tour.

You're saying that Hamilton doesn't have genuine talent? Pull the other one! Driving a Ford Escort he moved to 4th/3rd/wherever they eventually decide today from 18th against some of the "genuine talent" drivers who managed to put their cars into various walls for no good reason.

No he does have talent, he's just overhyped, and not very charismatic.

Agree to disagree?

As for putting cars into walls for no good reason, im sure you'll remember how that cost hamilton his crown the year before ;)

Very true.

Oh, and he didn't finish 3rd anymore, as F1 is a shambles. I think I might try and avoid getting sucked in this year and save myself the bother of having to check for the result 4 f'kin days after the race.

Agree to disagree, though perhaps Im being a bit over the top, he's clearly very talented, Im just put off by the cloud of happyhappyjoyjoy that suround him. Sad for Rosberg who was equally as good before they came to F1 and was simply unlucky on the team he joined compared to hamilton.

I absolutely agree on the F1 rules/results shambles though, this tinkering and rule changing although it mixes things up really gets on my nerves, especially as it has practically made the difference between who has won the season in the last few years.

It is an absolute farce. I bet the "new evidence" was mclaren panicking about what to do in light of the FIA being all over them in recent years.

:ranting:

FIA continue to ruin the sport... Vertell as also unfairly treated...

Waits for Brawn too lose their point...

I wonder how they are going to play this too get Ferrari back in first ? Drop the whole field ?

Yeah if what Eddie Jordan said is true then it looks very bad on Hamilton and McLaren all for 2 extra points! For all your hard work over the weekend getting from 18th to 4th you think they would have been delighted with that!

Sporting Director Dave Ryan has been suspended for telling Lewis to withhold information. Lewis Hamilton has been infront of the cameras saying it's the worst day of his life.

BBC

Its not looking good for Hamilton... Looking more guilty by the min... Lying is lying at end of the day...

Still need the full facts...
