Who would want to buy a failing club like ours

Recommended Posts

Seriously, who would want to develop in a :censored: hole...... Oldham as a town is on its knees.........

oldham as it is now is ripe for development,it has been run down by the council for so long that any offers coming in willbe accepted.

the club is worth a small fortune because of the land.

...are we seeing the first signs of the urban social meltdown that has been on the cards for the last 15-20 years? Paranoia, selfishness, greed, fear, lawlessness - no hope...

the council at present are making the market and the indoor market extince,by charging extortionate rents for stalls, and are not giving them any grace to pay late, the reason???

simple, they want to devolop that site as it is next to swimming and sports centre, and next to bus station, they want to build a multiplex cinema and bowling place with fast food outlets around it.

this has been earmarked since around the time that, latics mentioned turning the land around bp into just that, coincidence????

that is why latics are now developing the land as accomodation and possibly a hotel.

But the club don't own the land, it belongs to a company that TTA set up, can't remember the name ATM, not to OAAFC2004Ltd.

On the plus side a failing club is much cheaper to buy then a successful one :)

I would have thought they were gonna use the vacant indoor market (eventually) and tommyfield market as extra parking space for the new medical centre ££££, time will tell though eh

Pitfalls for the unwary..................going back to the late sixties early seventies Chester made a bundle by selling Ian Rush to Liverpool

for 300 grand..........then made a mint selling their car park to a supermarket......... in a nutshell their club was worth money for the land.

Worrying times
