LaticsPete
The "point" refers to opinion - I don't repeat the same opinion, but repeatedly question the need to keep repeating the same opinion, particularly when asked for explanations by members. Sorry DS but repeating the same opinions that doom and failure is around the corner, that TTA are conspirators looking only after their own interests, and the club refuse to share information with others, is the new orthodoxy .They have to be repeated until we all accept them or are silenced. Corporal_Jones
But why are the doom monger so sure that IT WILL NOT work when they have not seen the plans? The idea is to have a capacity of only 12000? Or perhaps, some seem to think, 10000. (How long before it leaks out that it's to be even less than that?) Nearly all the stadiums with such small capacities are in the lower divisions. It seems clear enough to me, on the basis of the proposed capacity, that this is where the club expects to be spending most, if not all, of its future. Why won't it work? Take a look at the curent level of interest in the town after nearly thirteen years in the third-tier. And that's leaving aside the controversy over the location. We, the silent majority, will not be silcenced. Er, you know what I mean! It's a good point Pete, the sperad of this negativity has to be challenged, otherwise a some impressionable lemmings will follow the doom and gloom line, as it is all to easy to do. There is no orthodoxy. The sceptics do not necessarily subscribe to all, or even any of what you say here. The only ones appealing for silence seem to be the clappers. If it's less than than 10,000, I will join you in doom and gloominess. But I will wait and judge for that point, rather than assume the worse. It's a good thing you are here, really. I recall Tony Blair regularly briefing the press about the worse possible outcome, so that whent he announcemment was made, there was a plpable sense of relief as the worst fears were not realised. hmm, that's not the first time I have compared you to a Prime Minister. garcon
Sometimes you just have to accept the fact that the happy clappers won't realise the club has terminal cancer until after they've seen the life support machine switched off. I'm not like Corp, I can't keep beating away against a wall of such banal and all consuming stupidity. I'm sure the die hard happy clappers will still be singing their cheery songs as they skip along over the edge of the cliff. Well I'm sorry chaps but I'll be long gone by then, I can't face the prospect of sticking around to console your stupid, broken hearts when realisation finally dawns. Professional football is :censored:ed. Period. I'm off to watch Wilmslow Albion instead.

If professional football is knackered, then you might get a very broken heart yourself now you;ve switched to non league. At least we have some money and a plan to get out.... garcon
Non-league has got used to the fact it was abandoned by the FA in the 90s and has managed to structure itself in such a way that, by and large, it gets by with very little cash. Your money and plan are illusions of a fevered, fanatical mind.

You are up and down more time than a porn star's arse at the moment garcon, it's neither as good as some imagine nor as bad as some like to paint out. It's much the same as it has been for ages, and it will either get better or worse with the forthcoming changes, depending how much they bring to the club. I think we should keep or nooses in the cupboard just for the moment.

Taking of fanatical minds, I;d recommmend the Scientologists to you and corp L Ron Hubbard, beleived in a process to attempt to rid the painful experiences of the past ! And The goal to become more ethical, more aware, happier and saner. It's all so crystal clear rather than grandiose over spending of other poples money that they have nt got I reckon there is a secret club called the Manic Depressives, with quite a few members on here! They had a little demo going outside about something or other. Now they really are crazy bastards. Properly, scary crazy. My dad, who is (natch) a Catholic, had a hardcore Mormon working with him for years. Being unlike me my dad is a bit of a smartarse so went and studied the religion intensely specifically so that he could discuss whether the Mormons had really sailed to America round Africa in the Dark Ages and built enormous modern cities there thousands of years ago. Honestly, it's about as credible as people who claim to see some dramatic end of the modern economic system from a likely marginal increase in the price of oil. Wink wink, trosuer leg trouser hoist hoist!! It's extremely odd that so many people think that spelling out the reality involves some kind of depression. In my book, eternal optimism and relentless, inevitable disappointment are more of a recipe for depression. And make no mistake-the stadium optimists are going to be disappointed (or at least the ones who aren't secretly looking forward to permanent lower divison or non-league football are.)
