most famous goal in our fa cup history?

Recommended Posts

I personally think the failure of Sports Park 2000 had a bigger impact on the club as a whole compared to that Hughes goal

If we had still been in a higher division, with decent crowds and momentum behind us, rather than already being a has been club on the slide to oblivion by then, maybe Sports Park 2000 - or something like it - would have come to fruition.

Building a fancy new ground doesn't being you success on the pitch. But it can sure as hell help prolong it.

Disagreed, i've had some brilliant days (and nights) watching them since that goal!

I haven't...

relegation...

Chris Moores...

a 15 away game losing streak...

13 years of abouslte garbage football...

Watch the club die slowly around me... then give off a heart beat... to start dieing again...

Its been harsh...

It has, but there's still been some brilliant, brilliant moments. Anyway, we all know how much you've distanced yourself from the club, I think we knew some time ago.

To be totally honest, we have had two play-off seasons in those 13 years. The first was absolutely brilliant best atmosphere I've witnessed at Latics.

Everton away... Huddersfield away... City at Home... to be fair...

Millwall away twice... Tranmere away twice... Leyton Orient away... Grimsby at home...

Etcetera.

I like to consider myself a realist and occasional miserablist, but you're something else.

You've got me thinking now.

Every single enjoyable game I've been to recently has been away.

Last one at home I remember that had me on the edge of my seat in a state of hyped trauma was against Southampton. In 1993.

There was the last day of the season under Ritchie (if memory serves me right) when we stayed up had me pretty worried...

But yeah, 1993 would of been the one before that...

Three enjoyable games that stick out for me at BP in the last few years: City in the cup, QPR 2-1 with the late Eyre goal after ID had done a runner, and the New Year's Day Massacre.

Reading, 1999? Also a had-to-win game bs Bradford on the last match of the season in 2005.

First game of the season against Millwall was pretty special.

As we are, we are the special breed.

First game of the season against Millwall was pretty special.

Actually that was quite special. Mainly cos we were in the RRE and were able to see the Millwall fans all pushed up against the fence in an apparent state of apoplexy at the end of the match. It was like being ever so slightly too close to a medical experiment gone wrong. The missing link turned zombie.

We just stood and looked at them, totally fascinated.

:shock::lol:

I can't be the only one who reads this and thinks that is a real shame and unfair... Although to be fair, if you all you have seen is the last nine years then you must be really easily pleased

Probably compared to those who saw the Premier League years and such.

Though i still think 7/9 seasons i've seen us weve been shocking

2001/2002 - OK but Wadsworth?

2002/2003 - Brilliant

2003/2004 - Poor team due to circumstances but they wanted to play for the club

2004/2005 - Poor.

2005/2006 - HOOF!

2006/2007 - Not as good as Dowies team but still good

2007/2008 - OK again, Everton the high point

2008/2009 - Great start if we'd have just kept that going ..

2009/2010 - Worst team/manager ive seen, just pure :censored:e.

2010/2011 - till alot of the same team but much improved (it seems)

Onwards and upwards!

I feel sorry for our younger fans who have stuck with the club...

To be fair its mainly been fecking garbage besides that one season under Dowie... So 12 years...
