Gaz_Oafc Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 (edited) quick summary: - good start to the league, but we've had good starts before, he's going to enjoy it but not get carried away! - the fire is a kick in the teeth, we are insured, but loss of revenue will cost the club money - Lots of rumours re. Investment, we have spoke to John Wardle (meetings, attending games ect.) but he has categorically stated he won’t be investing in the club, its not something he wants at this stage in his life, but has given us useful advice. - Still open to new investment but if it doesn't come, will struggle along - Simon blitz still on the phone asking about games ect. but is enjoying his retirement from latics. - no new news re. failsworth, meetings still ongoing with council, some sort of planning application going in soon. Corney thinks it will get done, but will just take time. - player share is going well, will help manager out. - paul always looking for new players, but isn't as demanding as other managers. both paul and corney suprised at the quality of players he's invested from last season. Corney didnt think a few players would have had a future at the club after last season. - if we carry on the way we are going, more fans will come through the door. edhunteruk Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Well get yer money out and you can watch it, can't you?! shame about no new investment as yet,but as they say, carry on playing like this, bring fans back and do well in the league and people may just take notice again.... i do believe there is a buisness man from this area(greater manchester) supposedly wanting to buy portsmouth!!! for around 16 million....shame we cant get somebody like this involved... PlayItLivo Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 No mention of the Eaves deal, which is one of the major talking points at boardroom level. :/ Quote
GlossopLatic Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 echo the blog suggestion too; any updates or info from the top are always worth while Surely this should be what the fans representative on the board should be taking up, as he is supposed to be the link between the fans and the board. Might also give us an insight into what he does because most of us don't know what that is. Quote

If Barry used a similar style I am sure it woould be welcome. So yes, a good idea glossop, and we have the perfect place for it. Edited August 25, 2010 by singe Quote

Oh Heck C-Beck Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I also cant believe that Barry does not write a blog in this day and age, it would be a simple and effective way for him to communicate with the fans! Once a month would be fantastic. Quote
