losesome
Doncaster away on a Friday night many moons ago - Coached got stoned at Donny and windows shattered. Had to wait ages before the police finally let us go around midnight , Freezing cold and snowing. Back over the moors with no bloody coach windows and arrived back at Barlows funeral depot at 3 am . I was colder than some of the corpses inside . No buses so had to walk back to Manchester arrived home 6am . Mind so numb can't remember the score so don't even know if it was worth it !!! AndyGortonsMatches
Worst away day for me was Barnsley (away) - August 1995 There were supposed to be 3 coaches, 1 x executive and 2 x standard - The exec filled up and and went but only one standard turned up and quickly filled - leaving 70 of us stranded on the Lookers car park at about 1pm. The 70 leftovers (inc me) were then told the club forgot to book the 2nd coach and we were told to go forget the match and go home !! Most did, however a hard-core 20 of us refused to accept this and refused to leave the Latique shop until they booked another coach. At 2.30pm in what I can only describe as a post-war Sharabang pulled up in a cloud of smoke and we were duly whisked off to Oakwell, finally getting in just before half time ! ......We lost. The following week my mum (not to be crossed) lambasted Alan Hardy on the phone and I got a £20 Latique voucher ! Happy days.

I remember that my Dad hooned across the Pennines so that we made it in time for kick-off. Think that might have been the game some Oldham fans got dragged out of their car and given a kicking by Barnsley fans with the cops only 100 yards away. Cops took 5 minutes to get there- South Yorkshire's finest strikes again.
Diego_Sideburns
I vaguely recall this, i'm sure it was the week after we won promotion at Ipswich, most of those cramming onto our coach were in fancy dress?
longtimeblue
Too many.. Remember Forest away in about 06, lovers tiff with a mate so decided to go for a pint in Sheffield on the way home (getting off train) a few too many later talking to some Wednesday/United fans decided to go for a train only to be told I'd missed last one. 60 nicker in a taxi to Tokyos. Thurrock away, had a hotel for the night before close to the ground. Mate smacked into the back of a jag in a car that had a sticker in the back reading 'this is a no fault of my own replacement car'. Had to leave it in Hayes only to be told to drive it back as it was (windscreen smashed) after the game. Were supposed to go out in Romford the night we arrived, decided to just stay local (it was on an industrial estate) in this pub until it became apparent the West Ham/Thurrock fans were beginning to ponder an attack. Massively outnumbered and not really there for a scrap meant a run through them all out of a side door back to the hotel. Big night down in Essex ended a damp squib. Reading away in about 99/2000, went on me own on Barlows, 16/17 at the time with money took up on ticket and coach meant I had to resort to tap water from a service station. Bad times.. Same poverty stricken era me and a mate eating 24 hour old sandwiches on a Tuesday night Barlows back from Colchester. Absolute worst was Chesterfield away in about 06. Just come back from travelling and had taken the first job offered (nights, in a warehouse, cleaning grubby machinery). Finished at 6 in the morning and rather than going to bed just got showered and pretty much straight on it. Was a little bit worse for wear come KO and was politely escorted back to the train station by the local cobstabularly. To this day, I've no idea if I'd gone via Manchester first but I was woke up about 11pm at Kings Cross. Quick jog over to Euston, last train had gone. Jaded to make my way to MK and ring me Grandad (tail between my legs) and ask him for a pick up from Northampton where they live. Had to ask the score over breakfast the next morning blaming nights and tiredness for the lack of memory. To this day he doesn't know I actually never saw the game. SLIGHTLY more timid these days but I do love playing away.

Lee Sinnott
Last year at Sheffield Wednesday. It was a Bank Holiday Monday. On the Sunday, I'd been at a mates sons Christening and got so pissed that I woke up on the Monday covered in my own Urine! Went to my mates to take us to the game, he went over the tops and was sick as soon as we got to Sheffield. We lost 3-0 and, to top it off, we broke down on the way back!
