Surely it's going to get colder (not air temp - pitch temp) and could then start to freeze? A 11 or even 12 inspection makes more sense IMO. A basic "is it generally playable?" check and then, if the ref doesn't really fancy running around in shorts for 90 minutes, a bit of time to find a frozen square millimetre of pitch to justify the excuse to call it off. The bovril went down well at half time but cooled rapidly after the initial shock of needing asbestos lips to take the first sip. I swear that stuff comes out of volcanoes.
