keep_the_faith
The last 3 days or so i have spend aroun £25notes on the likes of Sudafed, ibuprofen, paracetamols, menthol inhalers, menthol drinks, menthol sweets, breathe-easy lozenges and I come to the conclusion whilst they may cure a small little sniffle, for a proper manly cold they do sod all. What can I do it sounds daft to some of you but ive lost 2 days wages and not sleeping at night. I need help fellow blues. A hot Toddy doing nothing for me either! Nervous_Tic
Hot curry, accompanied by 10 pints. At the end of the night, add whiskey as a topping. Alternatively, go for a run.
OldhamSheridan
Avoid alcohol and caffeine (and curry) like the plague. Drink lots of water throughout the day. Have a shower/bath before going to bed. Or get so mullered you pass out and get some unconsciousness.
pukka
As said above. Go for a run.

Ackey
Hot water in a bowl, vic's in it, towel over your head and the bowl. Breath. Alternatively, have a cup of concrete and man the :censored: up.
jimsleftfoot
Avoid dairy products - I knew someone who once liked to drink hot milk to settle her chest. I said she might as well drink snot.
maddog
I do find alcohol - and lots of it - helps. Not sure it should, but it works for me!
Diego_Sideburns
I haven't had the need to try it, but this natural 5-step process is not to be sniffed at. Good luck! http://www.ehow.com/how_4514873_cure-stuffy-nose.html
BlueJazzer
I always think these things just have to run their course and no amount of pills, tablets or remedies will make a jot of difference. Just save ur money, stock up on tissues, keep warm, and let it run.
Roger Ritchie
Hot water in a bowl, vic's in it, towel over your head and the bowl. Breath. Alternatively, have a cup of concrete and man the :censored: up. This without the vics will be just as good. breath through your nose too rather than your mouth. If it is just a head cold exercise will do you good. If it has gone below your head (eg chest) don't exercise. You need plenty of Calcium C and Vitamin C though that's what your body uses to fight it. vitamin tablets will be good for you if you haven't got the time/appetite/igredients to sort yourself out. Other than that sleep is the best thing you can do.
downender2
how about going to see your GP and asking him....it might be something a bit more than a cold... I did...3 months later had nasal polyp surgery...right as rain now..
maddog
I've had swollen glands and tonsils for a few days. I just smoked and drank like a trooper, and feel great today! Even went for a swim and joined a gym!
24hoursfromtulsehill
I'm a massive fan of pharmaceutical options - all of 'em. Your best bet is to get hold of prescription painkillers (opiates preferably) by lying to your doctor. The best symptom killer I've come across is pot. Gak is useful only if you need to get up and do stuff. Zorrro knows that and should not have prescribed it without that rider. Bad Zorrro. keep_the_faith
for all those that i know are interested my gp tried to tell me it was swine flu and hence none of the above would work- as was said above the only thing that could be done is let it run its course
