Has Dickov seen the light?

Recommended Posts

In today's rarely-wrong Chron, it says:

Dickov worked with his players on the issue in training yesterday to try to rid them of a safety-first mindset which has protection rather than attack as its focus.

"Looking back to a couple of months ago when Dean Furman scored against Preston, those are the positions we want to get him in," said the manager, who loses suspended duo Dean Bouzanis and Cliff Byrne, but welcomes back Simpson into tomorrow's squad after a groin injury.

Players can become more concerned with not conceding goals rather than getting forward.

"We have worked hard at it in training and hopefully it will pay off."

With regard to the suspended duo Byrne and Bouzanis - this line made me chuckle:

'Both players have been fined wages and Dickov has driven home the message to his squad that poor discipline is hurting the team's chances.'

Not a 'week's wages' just 'wages'...

Let's hope it does the trick and discipline improves... :whip:

Or should Furman sit deep to protect a makeshift centre half pairing?

<flees>

One sits deep - one breaks forward - they could even take it in turns...

If Tarkowski is not fully fit - centre half pairing likely to be Wabara and MVoto. With Grounds and Brown at full back. Cisak between the sticks and deperate to keep the shirt.

Furman and Wesolowski in the middle and Croft and Montano out wide - with Baxter and Derbyshire up front.

That's the likely starting eleven - game on.

Or pissed off to be back here! Something we won't know until his fate next season is known most likely.

Half time during matches would also be an ideal time to tell them this.

That's the eleven I'd go with.

The front 6 is the best we've got, Wabara and Mvoto would give us better balance than Tarky and Mvoto. Added to that Tarky is not likely to be fully fit.

At least his first step has come to realise his fault. About time too.

Get 1 of the midfielders in more advanced positions.

We've all seen it since the start of the season.

He has said this many timesini the past weeks. That's why Furman was left out when he came back from South Africa. He doesn't do as he's told, and should be left out. Even if it means playing Mellor or Winchester.
