Latics and music

Recommended Posts

Step On by Happy Mondays always reminds me of the League Cup final against Nottingham Forest.

London Calling by The Clash reminds me of a Friday night game against Birmingham City in December 1979. I bought the lp at a record shop just outside Piccadilly Station on my way to the match.

Surely I can't be the only one who thinks Goal Music should be outlawed and the Boys in Blue is awful?

Saturn 5 always makes me think of watching Latics.

Ring a ding ding ding, we're going downnnnnnn!

depends which generation you come from I think. I've heard a lot of people critcise it as a new thing, but I've been watching Latics for almost 20 years and I can always remember goal music being played

Boys in Blue for me is like our cheesy "club song" a bit like what some other clubs have i.e Everton "Grand old Team", Leeds "Marching on Together", along with every Aussie Rules team having one

is "Mouldy Old Dough" a song? I'd class it more as an instrumental piece

An instrumental has no lyrics - MOD has few lyrics, but they're easily-remembered and suitable for those with a deeper voice, and despite the fact that it got to No.1 in the charts, selling 790,000 copies, it is still classed as cheesy.
