GlossopLatic
Today may have alerted a few more clubs to his availability I fear.

opinions4u
If money was ever an issue there's a bit more in the bank as a result of that win. Some of it may help keep him. Edited January 5, 2013 by opinions4u
bossrocks
A big 4th round draw might help us persuade him...

Fruitygoo
67,500 in prize money plus a fair whack from a near 12,000 attendance today....money that probably wasnt budgeted as we could have been knocked out first round...every penny of that should be thrown his way until he agrees to stay
Microcuts
Argument may be that we will only keep him if we can have him next season as well. I suppose it depends whether or not the board believe we can survive in the league this season without him, and if so, save the cost of his wages. I think he would be an investment though. If his form continues, somebody is bound to come knocking. Edited January 6, 2013 by Microcuts
the_mighty_bosh
I think he would be an investment though. If his form continues, somebody is bound to come knocking. He was the only player in the 1st half today who had the confidence to try things and when we were playing with confidence in the 2nd half some of the things he attempted (and pulled off) were special. Here is a place that he is enjoying his football. I can understand it if he wants to test himself at a higher level but it would be a gamble on his part that to assume that he will enjoy what he does somewhere else. Final thing to add, his work rate and effort levels are fantastic! No prima donna that's for sure!
NewBlue
The programme notes yesterday featured a full page about Baxter, recognising his ability. It mentioned that before we signed him "he founds himself condemned to the confines of his parents' house in Merseyside with no offers from other clubs". Jose is a very humble lad from the looks of it and is grateful that we gave him a chance in the game. He's young, he's got lots of momentum, he's appreciated by the fans immensely, is getting gametime and isn't driven by money. We won't be the biggest club vying for his signature in January but I think he may just stay until the end of the season to repay us or at least just to keep his run of games and goals going. We have a chance of keeping him until the end of the season. That will probably be it but it's been great to watch such a talent play football and prosper around a lot of the other :censored:e produced this season. Lukers1
If we get Baxter for the remainder of the season, can we put a transfer fee on him ?
opinions4u
If we get Baxter for the remainder of the season, can we put a transfer fee on him ? Yes. If we asked for silly money a tribunal would decide though. Don't bank on a six figure sum.
rudemedic
If we get Baxter for the remainder of the season, can we put a transfer fee on him ? We can put a transfer fee for compensation on him now, provided we make a written contract offer for him at least equal to his current one. The longer he stays at the club the greater the compensation though.
