mikejh45
Talking of deadbeats...did anyone hear Tony Adams's Talksport interview? Quite embarrassing to listen to him putting down Hodgson for his choice of squad.....more or less said he should beg Terry to play for England and to include Cole as well. This coming from a, once very good (not great) defender with a right arm reminiscent of Dr. Strangelove, failed coach/manager at every club he's been at. I agree with you about Adams but, to be fair, Terry's been outstanding this season. I'd have taken him.
mikejh45
I agree with you about Adams but, to be fair, Terry's been outstanding this season. I'd have taken him. Terry is outstanding against big forwards but gets shown up by smaller attackers who run at him or who will pull him out of position. I think the likelihood of the former is greater and, for me, a good decision by Hodgson.....not that he asked for my advice on this occasion, surprisingly. 4froale
Chelsea have the best defensive record in the country with Cahill and Terry at the back, like others say I would of begged JT to come back, he could be the difference between going out in the group stages and qualifying. Anyway, he's retired but nevertheless he should make the first move We got to the finals with the best defensive record without Terry......to bring him back would be massively demotivating to whoever gets dropped to accomodate him not withstanding the divisions and opening old wounds that would create. Finally, as a snapshot looking at 3 important matches at the end of the season......Liverpool - 0-2 win without Terry/ Athletico Madrid 2nd leg 1-3 defeat with Terry/ Sunderland 1-2 defeat with Terry. leeslover
Terry really isn't Franco Baresi or Bobby Moore to justify ignoring what a horrible :censored: he is. I don't know the answer but how many top sides would he start for?

dave_ragg1984
Terry is a quality player. But he's made himself unavailable for selection so f**k him.

Oafc1895
Hodgson has said he thinks that if the call came Cole would step into the squad if Baines or Shaw were to get injured. So if Baines gets injured before Italy who do you play in the first game? Shaw or Cole? For me it's cole because he's got the experience that we might need in this young squad. But I'd pick Cole ahead of Shaw if Baines is unavailable.
