Bunty Blue
I hope the transcript on official website of his post MK Dons match thoughts isn't verbatim otherwise it's no wonder the players look clueless. God help us......
bluehobbit
Beckham was never the most articulate didn't hurt his career did it? Holden's biggest problems is too many injuries to key players. If he can get us a few wins I can cope with the fact he's not in the running to be the next editor of the Times
LaticsLegend
"Who's coming with me?" Christ almighty, he really is trying to be a Johnson clone.
singe
"Who's coming with me?" Christ almighty, he really is trying to be a Johnson clone. Actually I read that that he knew and was admitting that the players were not mentally battling for him. Dare I use the dreaded words "He's lost the dressing room"-although our form since he came he might suggest he never have had it in the first place. And also that he might drop a few in favour of the kids who would at least listen to him.
opinions4u
I'm not going to slag off his speech or grammar. He's a hard worker trying to do his best for the club.

beag_teeets
:censored: can't stand still either, moves around more than an epileptic :censored:ting dog in a hurricane. But you know what, none of it matters. He's a decent bloke doing his best for the club we support, he could have said "No, I'll stay as a coach" but he stepped up and took on the role. Good luck to him, he's not the finished article but who is when they start a job?
palmer1
As above wish him well he's a decent bloke and genuine with no experience to call on who has had a life changing moment to contend with this is football not Mastermind. In June 2006, Holden married television presenter Danielle Nicholls. They live in Worsley and have two children. In 2012 their youngest child died after contracting meningococcal sepsis, while the family were on holiday. Give the bloke a chance. No mum and dad deserve this and all credit to him for having the guts to take on an impossible role. No offence, It is massivley sad and thoughts do/did go to him and his familly for their great loss but that has absolutley nothing to do with his role as manager of Oldham and should not in any way be used to sway opinions/ arguments on the matter. He is trying is best and thats all you can ask for - is that going to be good enough? time will tell
Twisbrogan
I was hoping we'd appoint Stephen Fry until the end of the season.
singe
I doubt Dean would even want it bringin up, its personal not football, but important it is known, so no one says anything accidentally insensitive. So lets judge Dean on his footballing record. He was dropped in it big time, becaus eof Johnson no one else. Preston as first game, with injuries, was always going to be tough. Positively he get s a win. The games have come thick and fast. Barnssley was not great, but individual errors proved most costly. Far from outplayed. MK Dons was also individual errors. And then an injury to the keeper with GK making his debut when really he should be a Youth Team player. and the team held out against a team that may get promted. But the underlying iussue is the injuries, pure and simple. Even experienced managers would struggle. So any positives. Well he changed the team at HT v MK Dons and it bought massive imporvement. He can motivate and tactically change. Very unfair to judge him on this period with the injuries we have.9, ((NINE) -typed in football result style when it is a big number) first treamer out. So far too early to write him off IMHO. We hve yet to see the best of Dean Holden. Edited March 19, 2015 by singe
HarryBosch
I thought I could hear Brian Sewell & Jacob Rees Mogg sat behind me on Tuesday. It must have been Bunty Blue and his mate....
Keepingthe Faith
Good luck to him! One thing he could change easily and would instantly help him........... Standing with slumped shoulders and his hands in pockets for 90 mins is not an inspiring demeanour.

Add in that apart from the much vaunted, and most difficult Striker position he has covered all the most pressing problems with loans in the past week within the constraints of budget, and number of loanees covering injuries.
