Magister
As far as I can remember since we lost to Lincoln we have played 22 league games and we have conceded just 3 first half goals in that time. Is there any significance in the disproportionate number of second half goals and penalties we concede?

That sounds as though we are disproportionately good in the first half rather than have a serious problem in the second half

yarddog73
It probably means that if we don't capitalise on our first half performances we invariably come away with very little, fitness and a lack of a pre season may be contributory factors. TheBigDog
Work too hard for little reward first half. Lose some energy second half coupled with substitutions that disrupt rather than improve. Players losing focus towards the end of the game.

Ritchierich
It's the lack of goals that's causing our problems our defence and midfield work hard but it must be pretty soul destroying to see chance after chance wasted ( or at least good positions). Eventually the pressure tells and once we go a goal behind it is hard for anyone to think we will respond ...they must have zero faith in our strikers unless we sort things out up front next season we will struggle again.....even in League
Magister
...but we have a self confident self publicist performance monitor who should be able to explain it and affect it. No sign of it though
leeslover
Shez generally makes fewer and later subs than the other side. I suppose we haven't complained on a number of times when it's worked

Having done their homework the opposition know we have little fire-power but remain cautious in attacking us during the first half. By half-time they realise how piss poor we truly are in attack, more so than they first thought, and the opposition change their tactics to get more people forward The result is we have more goals scored against us second half. Often would start brightly then concede some awful goal and you could see the confidence drain from the forwards. Looking ahead we have some decent players signed up already for next season, especially in defence. If only we could find a goal scorer, we might hit the dizzy heights of 16th.
