I think he's just very unpopular. Nobody enjoys his brand of football, and very few of us have any confidence he's the man to take us up. If there aren't instant results the fans will turn. Might not have been the case without Saturday's shambles. I was prepared to give him a clean slate this season but Saturday was so, so, so bad that I've lost what little faith I had already.

3-5-2 can work if you have the right players. Two proper wing backs, with a playmaker in the hole and a CDM and ball playing midfielder in the middle. That on Saturday was so negative it was practically a back 7, with absolutely no thought as to how to provide the strikers (including our marquee signing) with service. It felt like the only consideration given to that formation was to not lose. Which went well.

Something else happened at Stockport too which improved their form.

The abuse directed towards Nuttall is a disgrace by the way. He was one of the only players that looked like a footballer yesterday yet he still gets stick. Wouldn't blame him for leaving, a lot of fans have made their minds up about him.

Next Saturday already feels like a massive game. I know it's a long season, but there's been a lot of investment this summer and expectations have rightly been raised. If results don't come it'll get toxic quickly.

Don't think I saw a single person praise Shelton last season. All the Latics fans I know and every post on here was rightly saying he's bang average at very best. Not sure where you've been seeing people praise him...
