  1. Another thought provoking read on affairs http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2899404/MARTIN-SAMUEL-Ched-Evans-victim-mobs-going.html
  2. This sums up the impact of the signing for me. How can we value the need for a half decent striker so highly as to risk the integrity of the entire club? It's particularly cruel having watched the brilliant 4 goals and articulate interview with Matt Smith on SSN. Releasing our coup star striker Rooney 6 months into his contract to see him top scorer for a table topping side. The barely played O'Grady scoring frequently in the Championship. Reuben Reid one of the leading scorers in L2. Any one of these could have clicked whilst here and developed into the player we are about to sell our soul for.
  3. I've seen a bit of this lad over the last few years and he could be a great striker. Very surprised he hasn't been given a first team chance at Saints when many of his age group have. He's a real menace and a goal threat. Could be the next Harry Kane.
  4. This U-Turn in momentum occurred after the reported Ched Evans talks. Beat Dale on the Sat and the next day Oldham were making news with the interest in Evans. It affected the mood on here, could it have caused issues internally at the club?
  5. A great point bringing up the Sunderland situation and one which hopefully allows us to keep some perspective. Yesterday's was a baffling result, much like Southampton 8-0 Sunderland and shouldn't happen between teams of a similar level...but it does. Sunderlands performance that day was disgraceful and all the usual accusations followed, but it hasn't happened again since. And they've drawn with Chelsea, Liverpool and avoided defeat away since that hammering. Hopefully we can regroup as well.
  6. The part at the end where he mentioned allowing the players to speak out about issues inferred that LJ suspects squad grievances. It's ridiculous if the players have lost focus and motivation just coz he had a pop at them after Doncaster.
  7. Come on guys, time to call off the hounds. It's clear to see the point oafc-lover was trying to make albeit very poorly phrased. Ched Evans has ruined someone's life but Lee Hughes ended someone's life. It was mystifying to read Barry alluding to his belief that one crime was more socially and morally acceptable than another. Why drag up that dirt and put our clubs name back in the spotlight amongst the grubby side of the game? I'd like to hear Jason Puncheon's views as then we'll have heard from both Puncheon Judy on the matter.
  8. Scunny have Billy Kee, Paddy Madden, J-Myrie Williams, Deon Burton and Gary McSheffrey. An abundance of riches or just a collection of misfiring journeymen?
  9. Anyone know if the writer Alex or his brother Matt still post on here?
  10. Thanks Adel. Never mind, we'll find someone like you.
  11. Could have an impact on the battle to stay up as PNE still to play Bristol City, Carlisle, Shrewsbury & Crewe.
  12. K Smith to RB - WIlson back in the Centre with Lockwood - Grounds to LB?
  13. Was it Rochdale who use to have Lambert & Butler?
  14. It's interesting to see that Man Utd (and probably other clubs) use their young players sent out on loan in reserve games if they're not getting game time at their Football League clubs. Ekangamene didn't play for Carlisle at the weekend so United used him v Wolves U21s last night. Same thing happened with Blackett (Birmingham) the other week. Seems a sensible approach to me and could have seen a better resolution to the Albert Rusnak fallout.
  15. http://www.rednationonline.ca/AdaywithTerryDunfieldPart2.aspx And another, this is Part 2 but can click the included link to read Part 1. Wonder if Big Joe was consulted on this player? Just shows you how much managerial sackings, injuries and contractual issues can affect a career.
  16. http://www.wakingthered.com/2013/11/17/5106262/toronto-fc-top-36-countdown-number-23-terry-dunfield An interesting read on Tezza
  17. Have we actually signed Roger Miller or not? Is this confirmed anywhere?
  18. Maybe signing Warren's lad will lead to some United U21s coming? Reece James could be a possibility, left sided fullback who can also play left mid. Was on loan at Carlisle but got injured and returned. Brother of Leicesters Matty.
  19. Moyes will remember him from the cup last season as well. Had Jellyfish in his pocket. Didn't he play a wonder ball to Robbie Simpson too?
  20. Sandra never mentioned in her post that she was Cliff's wife. We saddo fans only know this coz we stalk our 'heroes' on twitter (and then moan about them on here when we're disappointed with something). It wasn't even a blindly loyal defence, her post was a well reasoned response to a few OTT comments and provides a reminder that family, friends and the players themselves read these boards so let's try not to type anything that you wouldn't be prepared to say to someone's face. This can be done without watering down opinions. No-one had a problem with Connor Browns brother posting so I say fair play Sandra and anyone else connected to a player who wants to keep some of our rants in check!!
  21. Yes Rummy! The potential to be Kaka-esque (back when Kaka was actually good)
  22. Decent lad Thorpe. Captained United's U21 side to league victory last season. Even played a few games in midfield so is good on the ball. Untested at any kind of first team level but was nominated for their Reserve Team Player of The Year (lost out to Adnan Januzai). Scored a few goals last season too including a belter away against a v.good Spurs side. Marked some good players last season including Adam Morgan, Jonathan Obika, Chuba Akpong etc. I reckon him and Tarky could form a good partnership.
