  1. Some illness in the camp according to MM so line-up will be interesting
  2. May be wrong but can't think of many, if any, keepers this season who have consistently looked to get rid early. Perhaps it's a modern coaching thing.
  3. Don't disagree that we, and MM, would have expected more clean sheets. Just don't think Hudson is especially at fault. Lack of midfield control puts defence under pressure and there have been numerous individual errors at the back - not picking up runners, slack marking, etc. Overall though our record has not been dreadful. 50 in 39 better than most. 17 came in 5 games if you throw Rochdale into the ones I mentioned earlier. Yes, we should be better but I still think Hudson is the least of our worries.
  4. Thought the general consensus was that keeper and defence had done okay, on the whole. Conceded 50 in 39 and that includes aberrations v Southend, Bromley, Fylde and Ebbsfleet which account for 14. MM clearly wants more clean sheets but our goals against total compares favourably with most. Thought most agreed our midfield has been the issue, certainly in terms of exercising control but also a lack of width and goal contributions. Plus we have only one player in double figures for goals (Norwood) compared to Chesterfield (Grigg, Naylor, Quigley, Dobra)
  5. For a long while I've been convinced we will finish 9th (after home results v Kidderminster, Southend, Bromley). A change in shape and more front foot approach against Chesterfield has, despite the result, given me a little hope we can sneak into the play-offs. However, don't think we can afford to drop points this weekend and Halifax and Alty now look like must wins.
  6. Ripley did great here but conceded 82 in 50 at Morecambe and Port Vale fans not overly impressed with letting in 71 in 46.
  7. Looks like we'll need to win at Halifax and Alty
  8. They are at Halifax on Wednesday so could do themselves and us a favour. Thought we could have won that 5-2 but just pleased with a proper committed display. Dallas pace frightened them. At last showing his value now fully fit. More of the same from now on and we are right back in this play off chase.
  9. If it's not rearranged for next Tuesday it could well be April 9 before it goes ahead
  10. Reluctantly agree OAFC1955. My Halifax concessionary ticket is £18 (adult is £21). At BP it is £10, in advance, £12 on the day, with corresponding adults at £20 and £24. Been to a few aways this season and half price for pensioners is unheard of. Think us old timers will have to stump up a fair bit more next season. Agree that a ST at £10 a game would still be comparatively cheap but suspect it may be higher
  11. Wonder if he is fit yet. Can still sign players on loan until later this month! Him and Norwood our best strike pair so far IMO
  12. Still a quarter of the season to go. Still chance to make an impact now we are at the business end. Still believe they could offer more than Nuttall or Willoughby. If Dallas or Walker pop up with a match winner in the next 11 games, or play-offs, that could be invaluable.
  13. Once Norwood and Dallas are up to speed we will have the option to rotate the forwards and that could be vital in the last couple of months of the season. Fondop and Garner have had to do a lot of the heavy lifting for the last few weeks and it will be good to share the workload. Agree about Hammond. A midfielder linking with, or running beyond, the front men unsettles defences. Think he will be a good signing for us as he gains experience and strength.
  14. Hopefully get a fee for him in summer. That might add a nought on the end!
  15. Shades of the FA cup game at Alty when Paul Murray surprised everyone by recalling him after a year out.
  16. Good to see Walker back among the subs, though, BP1960
  17. Not confident we can shoot down The Spitfires, devour The Shrimps or clip the wings of The Ravens in our next three games. Imagine what the reaction will be!!!
  18. Anyone who doesn't know what xG, xA and turnover stats are clearly has a happy, well-balanced life !
  19. Get Norwood and Dallas fully fit and add to Fondop and Garner. Perm any two to start with other two on the bench. Nice problem!
  20. Love MM's post match when asked what work they have done to improve Fondop. "Told him to move his arse" When he does he is a big unit and a handful for defences. Got to love his enthusiasm.
  21. Sounds like we might have a few more injury concerns after Tuesday. Heaven knows what the team will look like
  22. Under promise, over achieve. Think that's what most owners/managers would settle for. Of course we could always go for over promise, under achieve, then you really would be apoplectic.
