  1. Thanks Mick. Chukwugbo seems to be doing well recently.
  2. And last Tuesday Woking were reportedly unlucky to lose 1-0 at Chesterfield
  3. Don't think we have seen enough of Ward to 100pc write him off. Fully fit, I think he is a proper grafter, like Sheron, but with a bit more technique. Think I would give him a chance to show he can be a squad player.
  4. Sheron is a great athlete and competitor and we will need him on the run-in in this rough, tough division. Is he the midfield answer long term? Probably not. Another Conlon type is needed. But for now I am more than happy to see him in every matchday squad.
  5. MM has suggested he is wary about overdoing it with Sachdev, Conlon and Dallas cos they haven't had much game time in recent weeks. I suspect that if Hogan is missing he will go with McGahey and have Sutton as cover for CB and, if needs must, RWB. Reckon Dallas will be on bench and get 20/30 minutes in place of Fondop or Norwood, depending on how things are going. May see more of Hammond or Ward as sub for Conlon, again if things are going okay. We then have a clear week of training to maybe look at working on system change, although I am mindful of the case for "if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it" Certainly have plenty of options now, which can only be good.
  6. Agree, Yarddog73. He was subdued last night, as if he wants a move, but anyone who has watched him a few times knows he is quality. Would love to sign him. Look at it this way. Kanu or Green - no brainer. Shelton to Halifax making room for Kanu - no brainer. Understand we may now have to be patient to move players out first, but we will hopefully target quality incoming. Quality over quantity moving forward.
  7. Agree with much of what you say BP but think you're a bit harsh on Lundstram. Looked much better with the excellent Conlon alongside. As for the likes of Dallas, Walker and Hammond, I am sure MM will swap things around depending on the opposition and all will play a part. He has a lot of selection problems but now of the good kind. If, big IF, we are after Kanu, I suspect MM is already plotting for a time when we move away from 3-5-2. Serves us okay for now though and we're beginning to look like the team nobody wants to meet in the play-offs. Woking now pose a different problem. Boring, very hard to break down. Bring it on!
  8. Just hoping the new faces can settle in quickly and that supporters have a bit of patience. Think there will be a few wobbles along the way but confident about making the play-offs.
  9. Suspect MM doesn't particularly rate Reid or Willoughby.
  10. That's what Solihull and Chesterfield thought and he lost in play off final 2 years in a row. Just saying. Hope we can get him back to his best cos I really like Dallas. Good movement off the ball, good pace and a smart finisher. If, as hinted at, there is another signing still to come then I'm very optimistic of a good 2nd half to the season.
  11. Similar with Josh Stokes from Aldershot to Bristol City for a reported £250K but stays at Shots until summer.
  12. Statement of intent would be MM signing his son Michael. Perhaps then pairing him with a fit-again Josh Stones in L2 next season. And then I woke up!
  13. Wales u21 International, u18s and u21s captain at Forest suggests he's not without talent. Of course it's a step up to regular mens football but an 18 month deal doesn't sound unreasonable when you consider some of the 2/3 year deals we have handed out to numpties. Good luck to the lad. Times have changed, I know, but Big Joe made a habit of raiding higher clubs for young talent on the fringes and that didn't turn out too bad. Be interesting to see who the next signing is now. In MM and GB we trust.
  14. Like the age/profile of players being brought in by MM and Brabin, who have a good talent-spotting record. Youngsters from Prem, Champs, L1 with a point to prove who will hopefully add "legs" and enthusiasm. A few more like Josh Stones won't go amiss. These lads won't cost a fortune but could make a difference until MM can have a proper clear-out in the summer.
  15. Wonderful player for Latics. Although the legs were beginning to go, his reading of the game, anticipation, coolness under pressure and distribution marked him out as quality. But for the presence of Bobby Moore he could have been an England hero. RIP Gentleman Jack.
  16. The only away win in our division today, our fifth away win in a row, our third win on the bounce, the second clean sheet, into the play-off spots, the chance that more players will shortly be joining, according to MM. What's not to like? Be nice to play better, but it's all about results
  17. This the perfect summary. Just a pity that Reid, so beloved by a section of our fans, is not as wholeheartedly active on the pitch as he is on socials.
  18. Interesting piece in the Derbyshire Times. The top 5 form teams in the National League this calendar year. No surprise it's Chesterfield top. Then it's Bromley, Barnet, Gateshead and ... Latics. If we can get top 5 by end of season I think we'll all be chuffed
  19. Mellon himself described the first half as "rubbish" On a different note. If we can get Dan Ward fit do we think he might offer an option as RWB until we can find a long term solution?
  20. Be good if MM could bring his son in at some stage. Knocking em in for Morecambe on loan from Burnley
  21. Yes, he took several Lynn players with him including his son, Theo. Other son, Kai, is a pro dancer on Strictly Come Dancing - so my wife tells me!
  22. National League young player of the season when at Alty. Reckon Kevin Maher can spot a good player but it sounds like Mooney was homesick.
