    I don't think we can increase our average attendance by another third before winning a promotion (or two) first. I think last season was such a brilliant effort that we'll struggle to improve in this division even if we were doing well.

    The seats in the Lookers paddock was in the same. From memory the first few rows were still missing from the Charlton game. Thinking back to that season, after our good start I blame Paul Gerrard getting sent off at Southend as the turning point.

    Fair enough but it seems harsh considering instead of the parachute payments that are now made to relegated clubs, we had to have ground redevelopment work that wasn't necessary.

    Not pathetic but end of the day we luckily won the league. We never dominated that season as Burnley have this season for example.

    People who consider our 3-4 years of success in the late 80's/ early 90's as a remarkable achievement.
