  1. I wonder what Eards will say to Williams: 'Punch above your weight!'
  2. O yes it does! Good, slick playing surface is easier to play on and much less taxing than heavy, ploughed fields that often pass off as football pitch in lower leagues. As for squad rotation, in a few weeks we play in FA Cup first round. You bet we will play out strongest team, no matter who the opposition, just to ensure we get through. Prem or Championship teams in 3rd round in January. Unless it's against Arsenal or ManU, you know they are going to rest several key players and give fringe players a chance to shine. So the players rested will be fitter for the next league game.
  3. Player fitness and which division they play in don't always tally. In higher leagues it's more to do with training regime - better facilities, better staff; bigger squads - squad rotation, fewer league games in Prem (and international breaks if you aren't involved), better playing surface (heavy pitch is very tiring on feet).
  4. Won by Kenny Jackett of Millwall, as expected. 2-0 to the Blues tommorow
  5. Potential problem with a County fan 'lending' their details to a Tic is if the Latics fan is ejected from the ground for being in the wrong area, the Stockport fan may get into trouble for facilitating sale of home area ticket to an away fan and may be banned from buying tickets again, even for their own use. This is what happened last season when several pool fans were caught buying tickets for away fans, as every ticket sold is linked to a particual name and address on the ticket office database. I'd imagine with reserved seat tickets, the same thing happens at County.
  6. Leicester win 1-0 Never mind, we will be back on top come Friday
  7. Hasn't it occured to anyone that giving a lot more tickets to the opposition fans negates the home advantage and puts the victory on a plate to the visitors? Especially against the top-of-the-table side? Football is still result business, not just profit at all costs
  8. My mate nearly got thumped by a County fan outside the ground after beating them 2-1 in the laast encounter!
  9. They already played Leicester at home in August, drawing 0-0 in front of 7,151. Only 2,000 seats given over to visiting fans. No crowd trouble, apparently.
  10. I don't care provided we win Anyone remember Priestfield a couple of seasons ago? Do they hand out plastic macs at Edgley Park?
  11. But having any more Tics at their place is going to be detrimental for team performance and vocal support, so I can understand why they put a cap on away allocation. It's something we often don't do, like giving away the whole of RRE (e.g. last year's FA Cup tie against Hudds or play-pff semi against Blackpool the season before), giving opposition team an advantage in terms of fan support. While it's nice to bank more money through increased ticket sale, but surely not at the expense of adverse results???
  12. I saw the game against Leicester City in the then Divsion 1. Sat in RRE and goaded a few away fans they brought (200-300?) when we scored
  13. OS says only 400 left! Will definitely sell out by end of Saturday.
  14. Popular Stand, along the side, has a capacity of 800 but only around 500 are given over to Tics. Railway Stand behind the goal can seat 1550. If around the same number have been sold in both areas, then I'd reckon about 1000 left behind goal.
  15. All tickets have seat numbers on them, but enforcing is another matter.
  16. Leave the station on the other side (west) from the main entrance with ticket office, taxi rank, cinema and bowling centre (Grand Central). That will bring you to Edgeley Park within 5 minutes.
  17. Atmosphere is definitely better behind the goal, where singers congregate.
  18. That's football for you. Even the best team in the world - whoever that may be - can have mad moments when they concede silly goals. A sign of a great team is how they react to a set-back - just fall apart and surrender, or regroup, fight on and get a result, which is precisely what we have done.
  19. Freelance camera operator contracted to each ITV company (Tyne Tees in case of Hartlepool game). Sometimes they use their own staff.
  20. Tactical I think. He came to clap us after the game and didn't look injured to me.
  21. (e) PLAYERS SENT OFF UNDER LAW 12 (1), (2) and (3) A Player who is dismissed from the Field of play for Violent Conduct, Serious Foul Play or spitting at an opponent or any other person, whether he has previously been cautioned in the match or not, will be suspended automatically from playing football in any match including non-First Team matches commencing forthwith and until such time as his Club’s First Team has completed its next three matches in approved Competitions. FA - DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES CONCERNING FIELD OFFENCES
  22. If it can't be on Saturday (doubt Sale Sharks will move a televised cup-tie), then Sunday will probably be better, with neither City nor United playing. Friday evening is a bad time to travel and roads are packed with commuters and weekenders around Stockport (M60, A6, A34 etc). It will mean two Sunday fixtures in a row, with Hereford home game having been switched to Sunday 12th.
