  1. Memphis part owned by Tim Howard so the Everton connection is there..
  2. There definitely has to be a song about it at northampton on Saturday.. the morning has flown by reading the responses.
  3. Would people bring Moimbe back into the team. Appears to be a bit reckless for such a crucial game where players like Jay O'Toole will be looking to get involved and wind players up. Not sure I could trust him and the defense played pretty well on Saturday. Would free up Nepo to play further upfield though if wellens doesn't want to play central midfielders on the wing.
  4. i just don't believe we can get two positive results with playing central midfielders on the wings. Wellens has to pick 2 midfielders for the centre out of Byrne, fane, gardener, Pringle and play with gevaro on the wing. Doyle scores when crosses/shots come in and he picks up the pieces by finding space, not playing through the middle with no width, so easy to defend against when your players come inside all the time.
  5. Against Doncaster they need width on the pitch as without it we just punt it upfield. Wellens can't play fane Gardner and byrne. He has to go with two of those in the centre and get his team passing from the back like when we were seeing success when he first started. He needs to get players to want to be on the ball and be able to pass it around (for me that means fane doesn't start) Wilson has just not played enough games and is a liability but there is limited options. He has to get the players back to passing and pressing for two games against a mid table team with nothing to play for and a team below is in the table.. both games are winnable but wellens needs to be the driving force now and get a tactic that we can stick to.
  6. Wellens has got to stop with one up front at home.. it lets the opposition settle in and put us on the back foot to start with where we are usually chasing the game as we have conceded so many early goals.
  7. Why would have our sell on clause rolled over from Brentford to Burnley had we not sold it early anyway. Surely we would have just got the percentage sell on clause from the Brentford sale to Burnley and that would have been that anyway making it irrelevant what happened after that?
  8. Shez has done amazingly well since coming in but yesterday was a mistake for him. Put the team out to weather the storm of lowe and Vaughan which they did then when lowe went off Shez should have changed things up and had a real go at them. No subs (other than Flynn which did nothing to change the attack) made to really pressure the Bury defence and change the front line. He settled for a point very early in the second half. Oxford on Tuesday is going to be difficult and Bury was the potential to get three of the four points he wants. He cant keep coming out and saying goals are the problem but then not attempt to change it upfront at any point in the game. Not the biggest fan of Osei or Erwin but we offered little in front in the last half an hour. Only making one sub with a game on Tuesday night was surprising so two games on our pitch in 3 days could lead to a lot of tired bodies towards the end of Tuesday's game.
  9. Get us all back in the Chaddy end (lets start that debate again!) able to make it more hostile to the away team keeper and defence from there.
  10. Well if it does happen I look forward to read his comment on the notts county website.. can't wait for the line I can't talk about the reasons but if people knew they would understand.. If this goes through I will lose faith in all things football, particularly after JS sat in front of the fans spouting off what now appears to be a load of rubbish.. Plus I was supposed to ha e a training session with him, who will take it now? Fatty Lee Croft doing shuttle runs with Murphy and cassidy..
  11. Surely it was simply to avoid Kelly picking up a yellow and missing two crucial games where as now as of today he can get booked 6 more times before he picks up a ban due to the league extending the number of cards before a ban after Saturday..
  12. The forward play is not the issue. Centre backs was the only issue today, someone who can win a header. Millwall''s tactic all day was the hoof it down the middle and it worked. Dieng and Brian Wilson are not centre back and never have been. Confidence comes from stopping poor goals but once again both goals scored within the 6 yard box. Glad to see Coleman in the sticks and Dummingan and Lafferty and good enough at LB and RB. Bringing Wilson on with 2 minutes left was a pointless substitution.. if he is fit enough for the bench for the second game running he was fit enough to start. If you cant sign a centre back then surely George edmundson could be given a go.. anyone who can head a ball would be a bonus!
  13. Afraid I watched David Mellor sit on the bench for barrow away at altrincham on Saturday.. he has definitely found his level..
  14. Well that would be the point of the contract, you are saying £100 will be given to Oldham once over 8000 people sign up and only when this figure isn't achieved by say the end of this season will your money be returned. I would say between now and end of the season would be adequate time then if it is not achieved, people will have the money returned and we will just go back to normal way of buying a season ticket in the closed season..
  15. Is the obvious solution to this not the same as any tenant and landlord contract where the deposit is stored until both parties are happy with the amount to return at the end of the contract. So in this principle a website is used where you put £100 and if 8,000 people sign up then the money is released to Oldham athletic buying you a season ticket. if by a set date we don't have 8,000 people then the money is just refunded back to your account.. then at least there is a safe way of lowering the price and knowing how many people have signed up?
  16. Roll back two years and the number of people on here posting how Corney doesn't have a clue hiring Lee Johnson and has done it on the cheap yet again to save himself money rather than thinking about the club and now people are saying we didn't get enough for our prize asset and why has Corney let him go. Corney could have said no but it seems like LJ is pretty content with his new move and wasn't giving any indication that he wanted to stay. A similar situation with Paul Murray, offered a chance at something better (probably for more money) and there isn't much point in standing in the way to prevent it when the person want to do something else. I think LJ should have stayed and finished off what he started this season and then had a look at options but he made his decision he wants to be with a club he thinks can get to the championship which clearly he didnt really believe he could do with Oldham..
  17. Personally i would say Dickov needs to learn how to close games out when in front.. When other teams come to BP and are ahead they slow the game down, and then make substitutions late on and get players to walk off slowly to slow play down and break up the oppositions attacking mind frame in the final 5 minutes or so.. Looking at stats, 3 games in 7 days and only 3 subs used, Smith twice and Morais once.. What harm would it have done taking kuqi off and bringing on smith late on today to break up play.. We all know Dickov is young (in managerial sense) and hopefully he will learn to be more astute in the second half at closing out games.. tired players will always make mistakes.. but all in all everyone on here would have taken a point today..
  18. What can we expect when we have a manager who doesn't seem to know how to make a substitution. It is innevitable players are going to get injured when they are made to play 270 minutes in 7 days! Bringing Wolfy on for 1 minute on Tuesday night is hardly going to make a difference! I would have also thought that we would have had our strikers wrapped up in cotton wool but apparently not as Allessandra was ruled out with the ankle injury again today! Why was he not rested once we were 2-0 up on Tuesday?
