  1. I don't think he was having a go at the fans at all. He wouldn't have even mentioned us if Gordon hadn't asked a couple of times. He comes across as knowing full well that things aren't good enough and just being frustrated by the situation at the moment.
  2. It looks to me that this is what happens when you have no manager or players two weeks before the season starts and then rush to cobble together a squad. It's the manager's squad and his tactics that are failing but hasn't he been set up to fail from day one? Two terrible seasons can be traced back to problems within the club. Whatever they may be. I'm not a Corney hater, I think we'd have gone under long ago without him but I question why he sticks around, what he gets out of it apart from large bills and abuse. Today was pathetic. I can't see how it will ever get better until someone invests. I don't know why anyone would.
  3. Dunno, we were na na naing away to that one
  4. We brought on two wingers to add a bit of width and change the team's shape, keeping Erwin central. We then preceded to completely ignore them and just lump the ball up at him. That can't have been Robinson's instruction surely. There was a moment when we had a goal kick and Croft went wide on his own and asked for the ball but Ripley said no and pointed up at Erwin. He then lumped it straight to their keeper. We're better than that. We haven't had as a bad a start as we could have (wasn't all that long ago that we had no manager or players) but things really need to pick up quickly.
  5. Is it someone new doing it? Who ever is doing it at the moment is doing a top job, keep it up. It's fast becoming the lone highlight of match days at BP.
  6. Thought we did well to get a point today, it was a tough game and a great team effort. I think under the new rules the penalty was one of the few correct decision that miserable excuse for a referee made today. I paid a bit more attention to Klok today because I think he's a bit of an empty calorie player. He ran around closing down but put in few tackles and never did anything constructive with the ball. I'm not ready to write him off but I need to see more from him than I did today. Green, Burgess, Clarke and Ripley all very good.
  7. I think we played well tonight, we could and probably should, have won. The execution of the final ball was dire most of the night and this needs to be sorted in training. Less farting about, more balls into the box please. Thought Erwin was very good again but McKay wasn't in the game much but with the lack of service that's hardly his fault. I wasn't impressed with Dunne but he gets a pass as he won't be near match sharp yet. I think when Robinson gets theme disciplined in his way of playing they'll start making better decisions on the ball than we saw tonight. All in all not too worried, it's very early days.
  8. I completely forgot about doing this in the first week, so I made my prediction for Walsall before the cup game, I would have been much more positive if I'd waited!
  9. Pretty much, I've never had much success with prediction leagues. I can never find the centre ground, I'm either too optimistic or too pessimistic. There's no scientific approach here
  10. Thought I'd have a go at this. Hopefully it will keep me invested during the usual late season apathy.
  11. St johns ambulance people who helped take him off told us that it's a sprain.
  12. :censored:. I didn't think we could swear here. Didn't want to be left out.
  13. The last 3 seasons it has taken around 50-52 points to survive. That means 26-28 points from a possible 57. 9 home games left, 10 away games. Going over the fixtures I'm not sure where these points are going to come from. Only including fixtures I think we'll get points from. Blackpool H Win Blackpool A Draw Gillingham H Draw Scunthorpe A Draw Port Vale H Win Swindon H Win Rochdale H Win Chesterfield H Draw Fleetwood A Draw Crewe H Win Coventry H Draw 21 Points. Leaving us at 45.
  14. Saw him play for TFC a couple of times but they had him at centre back for some reason. Seemed steady enough in that league. Admittedly it's a weird standard but I think he's an upgrade over Brown.
  15. As far as the board not wanting us to go up, I think Corney has made it clear that his main focus is ensuring that we stay in this division ie avoiding relegation . We are treading water until he can sell us, if the new stand ever opens he can use it to make us a more attractive prospect. This attitude from the club isn't the least bit surprising. No club with ambition would appoint Kelly, not because he's a bad manager, I have yet to judge him. But because he is just a nice cheap option.
