  1. I'm in Cyprus all of August. Does anyone know if I will I be able to pay for individual matches and watch them or is it more complicated than that?
  2. Bucket loads of coaching experience behind him, which is a lot more than some of our previous managers have come in with. I would have liked an experienced L2 manager but I'm happy with Bunn and I'll be behind him 100%. Hopefully now things will settle down and he can build a squad.
  3. Everyone seems to be hearing something. I was told by someone who knows someone, that Frankie Bunn was called in to interview today. Probably as reliable as some other stuff put on here but just thought I'd add my two pence worth.
  4. I'm a bit confused. Has this whole thing come about because of one potentially unreliable person on Twitter? Are there any other sources for this?
  5. I've been reading this forum daily for around 10 years, it's got a right bunch of knobs posting regularly but it also has some very good posters who are able to disagree and discuss those disagreements like civilised people. I always enjoy reading from these posters, I've no interest in a different forum. There will always be the vocal few who mouth off at everyone, where ever you go.
  6. Huge win, massive effort from the lads. We seemed to give up a lot of free headers from corners which was worrying but we hung on. We could have had 3 in the first half, lack of vision from Erwin and a post from Clarke kept us out. Good signs of things to come.
  7. Still trying to work out that sub, or why we are playing without a striker.
  8. Outclassed by a much better side. Can't argue with the result at all. Two players pointing at the man running in to get the ball from the corner need a bollocking. Communication was poor throughout the game and it cost us there. I was impressed with Holloway throughout. I think he has a little more class than the forwards we've had up until now. He's not a goal scorer though, we need to find the right partner for him and I don't think that's McLaughlin. (no idea who it is though).
  9. I voted no, purely because of the wording really. I don't know how far a one off investment like that would take us. If it was a take over with ongoing investment and development of the club, well then come on you Roosters!
  10. A shame but these things do happen, really looking forward to reading the write up. Thanks again to those who went to do this.
  11. Trying to get a big crowd in will just be to show the potential fan base if they can create an exciting team. It's a clever move (if it pays off).
  12. I'm not much of a poster, I usually think of a reply to some one and then decide it's not worth just getting shouted down by the vocal minority. Having said that I've been here reading the posts every day for nearly the full 10 years and I'd miss OWTB if it was gone. Here's to the next 10 years. Christ knows where we'll be by then.
  13. Some people really do hear what they want to hear don't they. I thought it was a very frank and honest interview. He admitted the football is poor, that we're in a state financially and that we're struggling to survive. I think some people won't be happy until he admits to stealing milk from children. He's offered to be grilled on camera by his biggest detractors, what more can he do? I'm by no means the mans biggest fan but some people's reactions to him verge on moronic. If you have serious concerns about specific subjects and you have a good idea what you're talking about, go and question him. You'll be doing a service to the Latics community if your concerns are justified and if not, we'll all know for sure.
  14. I'm a ST holder but I chose not to go today. I didn't have big plans or anything, I just thought that rather than sitting freezing my arse off for two hours watching the most turgid football you can imagine, I'd rather enjoy my Saturday. And I did just that. Now I've come on here to get a picture of the game and find that it was exactly what I thought it would be. This is the kind of day I remember when I'm deciding whether or not to renew my ST in the summer. I didn't renew until Robinson was in place this year, so two weeks before the season kicked off. Some people will renew no matter what but I'm not one of those people. I need to want to renew, to be excited for a new season. I don't owe the club anything, it's up to them to make me want to attend. At the moment I don't. Having said this, I'm not placing our problems solely at the feet of Robinson, who knows where we'd be now if he'd had more than fourteen or so days to throw together a squad. I think as long as we're in touching distance of safety in January then he should be allowed to stay and make additions to the squad. I think that we are doomed to be in a perpetual state of battling for survival until we either get new ownership or go down. Not having a go at Corney, he's done what he can but at this point he's just allowing us to decay. I'm still not entirely sure what happened in the summer, why there was a mass exodus from the club but that has to be down to him and the board.
